Deaf Vicars, 2007

Greetings in Christ!

Closing for break at 12 or 12:30 we begin again at 1:00. Normally this is a very hard time as it is the hottest. People get tired and sleepy.  But the deaf do not like using the fan. Makes it too cold. Smile
So our afternoon session we do a lot of research. I have application questions from what we studied in the morning. Example: When we studied Gnosticism – which books of the Bible talk against Gnostic idea? Look in the back of your Concordia Study Bible – it is there
I have them use the DVD’s and the notebook to do research to find the answers.
This seems work very well as they are more active and involve.  If they need a cup of tea or water, or use the water closet they can. I get to sit and answer questions and give the “hints” how to find the answers. Tiz not easy.
We go to 4 pm when we break for supper. Our cook Agnus does a great job with a variety of means. I hope the ladies have shared with you. No wale this time – bummer – smile
This is also a time for all the students to fellowship together, play Frisbee, soccer (football), or take a rest.  This is the time of greatest activity at the compound.
For me it is a time to talk with the other teachers, see how things are going.  Get the funds ready for the trips home, get/print any extra things I need for the evening class.
To be continued…..
The rest of the story:
Check email quick again – like those notes from home. Sit for 5 minutes and collect my thoughts. Handle the “little problems” that come up. Drink half a malta for “energy”. Check on the water supply see how we are doing. See how our other students are doing. Answer 103 questions on various topics. Walk and get the DVD’s we copied. Make sure I have leftovers for after class to eat cold. To the shirt store – to pick up the clericals
