Alan is the deaf man from Indianapolis who is traveling with Pastor Reinke & Pastor Palmer. It is his first visit to Ghana.

Alan’s Ghana News
When we left from Ghana Airport, lot of man begged to help to carry anything because they want money. One of us paid. We stayed at a nice place but we took shower with only cold water.
Next day we traveled and looked many poor people that they sell many different things per booth and live shack. The road had smooth black top, hole, and dirty. Second road was dirty and did not have any black top. Then we went to Kakum National Park. Three of us walked on a bridge that bridge is narrow board and cable with side of nets. Then we visited at Cape Coast Deaf School. We meet 6 deaf students and many hearing staffs.
The weather is nice warm day and cool on night. Sometime rain was hard or light as same as Indiana. We are lucky that weather is nice of us.
On Saturday we meet deaf couple. They invited us to their house. They rather change my name’s sign “R” for rock instead of “R” for restaurant. Do all Deaf Africa people use my name for rock.
On Sunday we went to village for deaf worship. They are poor, too. Then we went to Kumasi and stayed a nice big house. Barbara and I taught deaf kids at deaf school. Rev. Reinke taught deaf young adults for evangelism class and Rev. Palmer taught Deaf older men for pastor class. They were in this house.
Deaf people are wonderful to us and honor us. They were interesting to learn classes when I taught them because I am deaf and my natural deaf sign.
I learned Ghana foods that it is not bad but I am hungry for American foods. Ha
Yesterday after classes, we went to downtown and bought some shirts but it did not show for size. There was too crowd but there still sell per booth instead of famous shopping in America.
My heart realizes am hurting about Africa and Deaf people because they are poor and want to learn about Bible. They talked me because of communication.
Today we go to worship.
I miss my family, relatives and friends. Also, I especially miss my wife. I love all.
Love,
Alan
