First - ask people to pray for pastor palmer.  He is not 'sick' but the dust from the harmatton has been very bad.  We heard they did not have planes fly in on Saturday because the visibility from the dust was very bad.  Bud has been running nose and eyes last night and all day.  He slept all afternoon from the medicine but taught class tonight. We had fun with a joint class this afternoon.

Classes are going well.  With the students back in school some of the students we had last time in the leader class are back at school.  We added a student to the pastor classes so now we have 7 in the training.  Please pray for them.

Have not heard from Ted or Denise so means good news!  I am sure they are having a great time.  They had a nice room ready for them in a guest house just outside the school grounds - even had a metal four post bed!  We are praying for them.

The dust has been the worst battle.  We clean every morning and by noon there is dust all over everything.  It all tastes dusty - smile.  That means we have very cold temperatures - down to 70!  IT sure is cold in the mornings!  Especially the shower with no hot water - brrrrrrrrrr.  Our watchman has his winter coat on and all the people shut their windows and curtain the keep more warm.  I stopped at a small shop for eggs and the lady had her baby all wrapped in a winter snowsuit - smile!  It only gets up to around 95 so it is very cool.

We had fun driving last night - stopped by the police again.  They were checking for insurance for taxis and tro tro.  Not a problem for us - buuuttt  he did ask if I had his 'new year gift' smile - I did not have one but promised him a picture of Jesus if I see him tonight.

One of the deaf died from Kumasi. We will be seeing the funeral on sat Jan 22.  I am not sure what the evangelists are doing - will be finding out tomorrow.

I am reading through me emails and writing this as I wait for the emails to come up - takes a while - smile.  I may need to save some for tomorrow

PLEASE send a thank you to everyone for the birthday greetings - they are GREAT!  Some asked me what I did special - I read your emails - smile.  No special dinner, no party, only teaching classes and working with our deaf leaders.  It was a great birthday!

Tomorrow we will meet with the fitter (mechanic) to talk about a vehicle for us here.  I hope and pray God gives us a good truck at a great price.

Not sure about meeting the king - seems it is on - but he is also involved in a funeral and one never knows about how long these will take - up to God.  But the other work on the school is moving forward.  Will be meeting with the education coordinator with the Lutheran schools and setting up the process for application by the Ghana schools system.  Meet a good Lutheran teacher from one of the schools - I pray God is preparing those teachers for us!!!!

The things I missed from Ghana-

The people here - great to see their smiling faces again

Guinness Malta - it is a non alcoholic drink in Ghana - you need it to keep up your strength.

Geckos crawling around the house - first day pastor palmer caught one

fried bread in the morning for breakfast - then left over fried bread for lunch.

The taste of fresh pineapple

the beautiful flowers and plants - even in the winter (dry season)
