From John (1-18-06):
I am getting ready for bed and am rambling a little.
Took me two hours but the printer driver is downloaded – smile.
Finally able to START wash today. Still hanging on the line wet - have no clothes for tomorrow – oh well. Hope I do not smell too bad.
There are so many things to do and fix here. We are trying to do the most important for us. The shower now works better. We have pressure and the hot water works – YAHH.
Only my second visit to the hospital. Our house here in Kumasi is more clean – but they are doing a good job. George had his appendix out. Nothing for us, big surgery for them.
That is why we brought our own IV tubes and syringes, etc... smile – just in case. His family is there helping him so he will have food, etc... when he is ready for it. We will see him again tomorrow morning.
What a great day. Everyone was here tonight except George. They are really doing a great job on the preaching class. We worked on Goal, Malady (sin), and Means (Gospel) tonight. We also studies where Balaam’s donkey talked – do you know that story??
The deaf group decided tonight that we will have our party on Sat after classes. Normally it is on Thursday, but we will do it while Linda and Jean are here. Then Sunday morning go to Jamasi Deaf School, then back for meeting with the Evangelists, then meeting with the school committee in the evening. Then start class again Monday morning.
Grandma Karen, as she is known here (I feel like I am with my two sisters and my mom – smile) says she is starting to get into a schedule of teaching. She is learning fast how to adapt. I think she has been surprised by the knowledge of the people. But she also says at her age she could not rough it at the schools.
Well I need to get ready by 6:30 so I better get to bed.
