Greetings,

Thanks for all your prayers!  I am feeling better.
I do not know if malaria or  what by I started the medicine and that seems to be working too.

We had a great day with the students taking turns leading and discussing the Bible stories.  I am praying they will be able to continue meeting and practicing.

We also had a great planning meeting on Sat - discussing which schools and where they will be traveling for teaching.  I think we will need about $200 a month to help with the travel costs - it is worth it.  They take off from work to go and teach, we try to help with the travel costs.

We also met with the Deaf Lutheran SS (High School) board and the architect.  They think with all they need will be about six million - ouch.  But if we can raise the 2.5! million to get the start, then they will be able to sustain it.  I know I know this is a lot of money.  But God continues to open the doors, so I pray He has that ready too.

Just this morning I received an email from a deaf Lutheran man in Liberia that wants us to help train him!!!!!!   We are thinking how we can get him over to Ghana when Pastor Palmer comes the end of April so he can join with the training.  We  will also send him  the DIT materials so he can get started too.

OOOOHHHHH Lord please help us!!! smile

I am going to bed.  We stayed up tonight discussing some of the questions about the bosom of Abraham and Peter the Rock and and and.....  it is great fun and they so much want to learn.  Please continue praying for the deaf leaders to be strong and continue faithful.  There are so many challenges here in daily life, now with JW's and who knows what else.

I treasure your prayers!

Serving Him Together,

Pastor Reinke

Greetings to you all,
It has been a while since I have written an update to you and I apologize for that!

I have to admit I was nervous about teaching but once I got started I felt more confident.  It’s great how God works in such marvelous ways – especially on me!!  We have been working on Bible Stories, the Commandments, and how to find verses in the Bible.

It was great to be with Jean and Linda for a few days this past weekend.  We bonded, again.  They left for Tamale Deaf School yesterday; we will be picking them on Thursday.  The teaching is going well for them, but the living situation is more primitive than the first school they visited.

Because Jean and Linda were here, the Deaf party was moved up from next Saturday to this past Saturday afternoon.  The meal was delicious and it was great to have the students and Evangelist students honor us.

Sunday, Jean and Linda went to the Deaf Service here, in Ghana, while Pastor Reinke and I went to the Deaf School in Jamasi.  I assisted in teaching Daniel in the Lion’s Den with one of the Deaf Evangelists; I then met up with Pastor Reinke and then was taken on a tour of the school.  We left some supplies with the school; the children were elated.

Sunday afternoon, a bell was rung and the compound doors were opened to the neighborhood children to come in for Bible story time.  It was quite the picture to see so many children sitting around Pastor Reinke while Daniel, a 15-year old boy who comes to classes after his school day, was Pastor’s interpreter.

It is hard to believe that we will be leaving next week, already!  I cannot believe how quickly the time has passed.

The Lord has really blessed us and our endeavors.

God speed to each of you and thank you for your prayers.

In Christ,
Karen
