March 7th
-We woke up around 6:30am and went down for breakfast. We had Veda with tea and coffee to drink. We then went back to teaching and taught about baptism. This ended around 8pm and we then went to the hotel, where we had brianni and prawns.
March 8th
-We woke up around 6:30am. We had Veda and pouri baaj- puffy rice made from wheat with coconut sauce. We then went back to the compound and continued our discussion on baptism, focusing on if we can do anything to get to heaven by ourselves. We ended around 7pm and then Rev. Christudoss invited us over to his house to celebrate his 54th birthday. It was a nice, small compound situated on one of the side streets, we got to go there by auto rickshaw, and it was a tad scary at times.
- We had prawns, rice with sanbar, and tomato juice. We ended around 10pm and returned to the hotel to sleep.
March 9th
-We woke up around 7am. We went for breakfast and had Idley and pouri. I got to go to the school today. I taught the 7th standard, what we would consider 7th grade, the story of Joshua and Jericho and then the story of Gideon. The students were well behaved and seem to have understood what I was saying. Then I got to go and talk to the 11th standard, our 11th grade, students and answered some of the questions that they asked of me. Such as how old I was, what I thought of school, and what it was like in America. The best part of the day was in the beginning, I got to go to the school on a motorcycle! It was awesome, I can see why palmer enjoys his Harley, and don’t worry mom, I’m not planning on getting one any time soon-smile. On the way back we stopped at the train depot and got to see how it ran and worked. We are currently at the hotel, supping on buttered naan, then off to bed.
March 10th
- What an awesome day!! We woke up at 5 am and were out the door by 5:30. We went to two deaf schools; one was in Hosur, which we went to first. Dad gave a sermon on creation and how we are all special. We then toured the campus and went in for a breakfast of Vada, Idley, and biriyani with rice.
-We then left and went to the other deaf school, where we got to see it part way finished. Rev. Christudoss showed us the plans that he had for the plot of land that they had and they were massive, and we thought that Dad had big plans before-smile! We then went back and did an hour or so of training, and then did some shopping and went out for dinner. While we were at the diner, dad even got hit on, one of the women who was eating there was wearing a full piece skirt and shawl, which covered all but her eyes, which she had down because she was eating, but when Dad looked over she would cover up again, and she only did it for Dad! - We all thought that that was a tad funny.
March 11th
-We woke up around 7am and then spent all day at the training center.
March 12th
-Another fun day!! We were ready to leave by 6am and went to another deaf school in Vellore. Dad gave the Jesus loves you sermon again. All of the members came with us and acted out the stories that they have been working on. The children were happy to see us and paid attention well. We then returned to the hotel to rest for a while.
