March 13th
-Another day, another experience! We woke up at 6 am and had a breakfast of a toast omelet; it was a bit like French toast, but with more egg. We were supposed to leave at 7:15am, but the van was having mechanical difficulties, so we didn’t leave until close to 9am.  We then went up onto one of the local mountains and went to a resort at the top and had training there. For the study, what else makes more sense then to do the Sermon on the Mount, when you are on a mountain top?-smile

-We got to see a few different fruits while we were up there, one was Jackfruit, it was big, with little black barbs coming out of it, but the fruit was very sweet. We also saw a playground for children, the first that we have seen since we came here. Everyone had fun sliding down the slide.

-We got back into town around 8pm and did some shopping for clothes, which look really cool. The women are usually decked out in what’s called a sari, which is a bright piece of cloth wrapped around themselves; it looks a bit like kente cloth from Ghana. The men on the other hand, usually just wear jeans and a shirt, unless it is a special occasion, then they will wear their good cloths, which look just as spectacular, one of them that I saw had what appeared to be a design made with a little diamond like substance. It looks really bright and colorful.

March 14th
-We woke up around 7am and had a breakfast of Vada and Utma, which is like thick oatmeal. We then continued training for the day.

-We also went to the deaf school in Ambur, the students there were really nice and Dad got to talk to the teachers, he even got into a debate with one of them. We then went and sent you all some e-mail, and then returned to the hotel, where we supped on wonton prawns and prawn noodles. Dad also got to try on a woman’s sari and his doddi. I got some pictures of that that I can show all of you.

March 15th
-We woke up around 7am and had a breakfast of masala dosa and bread omelet. We then went and continued training. We went to Alice’s house at 7:45pm and had a supper of noodles, buns with egg salad, with mangos for dessert. We then went back to the hotel at 9:30pm and slept.

March 16th
-We woke up around 6am and had a breakfast of masalla dosa and utma. We then kicked off the Deaf Christian Conference. Dad got to speak once in the morning and once in the afternoon. There were over 50 people that attended. We went to the hotel around 8pm and began packing, after supping on prawns golden fry, and chicken masalla.

March 17th
-We woke up around 7am and had a breakfast of rice cakes. We then continued the conference, closing it at 1pm. We then left at 1:30pm and boarded the 2:30pm sleeper train bound for the southern tip of India.

March 18th
-The train got into the station at 4:30 in the morning! We got off the train and boarded an ambassador made car that is made for tourists to use. We went and slept at the hotel Maadhini in Kariyskumani, the room we got had a balcony facing the Indian Ocean. We slept for a few hours and then got up at 6:15 am and watched the sunrise over the ocean, it was beautiful!

- We then slept for a few hours more, waking up at 8:30 for a breakfast of Idley, and then off to the seminary, where Dad gave one of the salutations. We then took a 2 and a half hour drive to one of the deaf schools.
