ASH WEDNESDAY

INTROIT: Offer to God your sorrow, a sad and sorry heart God will attend. Show mercy to me, O God, agreeing-with YOUR love and kindness, agreeing-with YOUR much mercy, forgive my law breaking.  Wash-away my wrongs, and make me clean from my sin.  Because I know my law breaking, and my sin is always in-front-of me.  Look, you want truth in the heart, and in secret you will teach me wisdom.  Cleanse me with YOUR Word and I will become clean.  YOU wash me and I will become white same-as snow.  Let me hear happiness and excitement; then my broken body can become happy.  Hide YOUR face from my sins, and forgive all my wrongs.  Begin in me a clean heart, O God, and make a new correct spirit in me.  Don't throw-away me from in-front-of you, and don't take-away YOUR Holy Spirit from me.  Again give me happiness with YOUR saving work, and give-me an eager soul.

COLLECT: Almighty and eternal God, YOU don't hate things YOU made, and YOU forgive sins of sorry people.  Now in us make and begin new and sorry hearts.  Then we will feel sorrow about our sins and cry about our sinful souls, and then we will receive forgiveness from YOU, our God of mercy.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

JOEL 2:12-19
    12.  Now the Lord your God says: "Come again to ME with all your heart.  Come, not eating, crying, and sorrow."
    13.  Don't rip your clothing, but feel honest sorrow in your hearts.  Come again to the Lord your God, because HE shows kindness and mercy.  HIS anger is slow, and HE shows much love, and HE wants to change HIS judgment against evil.
    14.  Don't-know?  Maybe HE will change HIS heart and come again and give a blessing while HE passes-by.  And maybe that blessing is a food or drink offering to give the Lord, your God.
    15.  Blow-the-trumpet in the city JERUSALEM.  Prepare a holy day with no eating.  Announce the day for holy worship.
    16.  The people meeting together.  Call everyone for worship.  Bring the old people and the children, also the young babies.  Let the groom leave his room and let the bride leave her room.
    17.  Let the priests -- those servants of the Lord -- let the priests shout in the temple between the altar and the PORCH.  Let them say, "Lord, save YOUR people and don't make your gift a shameful thing, or other nations will mock us.  Don't let the nations say: 'Where is their God?'"
    18.  The Lord was jealous for HIS land, and felt mercy for HIS people.
    19.  And the Lord answered HIS people: "Now I send corn and wine and oil to you, and you will be-satisfied.  And I will never again make a thing of shame in-front-of the other nations.

II CORINTHIANS 5:20-6:2
    20.  In the name of Jesus Christ and for HIM, we beg you, let God change you from enemies to become friends.
    21.  Christ had no sin, but God made HIM become our sin offering.  God did this for us, so that in Christ we can become alright with God.
6:1.  We work together-with HIM, and we beg you: Don't waste this wonderful kindness of God.
     2.  Because God says: "Your prayer came to ME happened I was ready to attend.  I helped you in the day of salvation.  Attend, now is the hour to get God's kindness.  Today is the day to become saved."

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

MATTHEW 6:1-6, 16-21
     1.  Jesus taught them saying, "Be-careful!  Don't do your good works in-front-of people; don't let people see the things you do.  Because then you will lose the gift from your Father in heaven.
     2.  Happen you give a gift to a poor person, don't boast about that to others.  Don't copy hypocrites.  They blow-trumpets in the churches and on the streets so that people will praise them.  Remember this!  They already received their gift.
     3.  NO, happen you help a poor person, don't tell your left hand the things your right hand does.  Don't tell your best friend about it, but do good things secretly.
     4.  And your Father sees the things you do secretly and HE will bless you.
     5.  Now about prayer, happen you pray, don't do same-as hypocrites.  They enjoy standing and praying in the churches and on the streets so that everyone will see them.  Remember this!  They already received their gift.
     6.  NO, happen you pray, go to your room alone and close the door, and pray to your Father secretly, and your Father sees the things you do secretly and HE will bless you.
    16.  Happen you give-up eating, don't copy the hypocrites with their sad faces.  They walk around with a hungry face so that everyone will see their giving-up eating.  Remember this!  They already received their gift.
    17.  Happen you give-up food, wash-your-face and comb-your-hair.
    18.  Then others can't know that you are giving-up eating.  But your Father will know.  YES, your Father sees secret things and HE will bless you.
    19.  Don't save-money riches on earth, because that can be-destroyed by worms or fire, or robbers can steal that.
    20.  Instead save-money things in heaven, because no worms or fire can destroy in heaven, and no robbers can steal that.
    21.  Because the things you love most, that you will attend-to.

FIRST SUNDAY IN LENT
INTROIT: Anyone praying to ME, I will answer you;  I will stay with you during trouble, save you and honor you.  I will give-you long life and show you MY salvation.  If you live everyday with the Lord, our protector and Most High God, then HE will not let any hurt happen to you and no trouble in your house.  Because God commands the angels to stay with you and protect you always.  The angels will lift-you-up that you don't hurt yourself.  You will walk among lions and snakes and walk on them.  The Lord says: Because you love ME, I will save you.  I will protect you because you know MY name.  You will pray to ME and I will answer you.  I will stay with you during trouble, save you and honor you.

COLLECT: O almighty and eternal God, we ask YOU to lead, make holy, and reign-over our hearts and bodies that we will obey all YOUR laws; and watch-over and protect us in body and soul.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

GENESIS 2:7-9, 15-17, 3:1-7
     7.  Then from the earth the Lord God shaped a person.  God breathed the spirit of life into him.  The man became alive.
     8.  The Lord God planted a place full of trees toward the East named EDEN.  There God put the man HE made.
     9.  From the earth the Lord God made every various tree grow, beautiful and good for food.  The tree of life also grew in the middle of the GARDEN and the tree for knowing good and evil.
    15.  And the Lord God put the man into the GARDEN named EDEN (that means pleasant) for caretaker.
    16.  And the Lord God ordered the man, "You are free to eat from every tree in the GARDEN except not the tree for knowing good and evil.
    17.  You must not eat from that tree or that day you will truly die."
3:1.  Notice! The snake was more sneaky than other things the Lord God made to live in the field.  Satan hid in the snake and said to the woman, "True God said, 'You will eat from every tree in the GARDEN?'"
     2.  And the woman said to the snake, "We can eat from the trees in the GARDEN except not from the tree in the middle of the GARDEN.
     3.  God said, 'You must not eat that; don't touch that, or you will die.'"
     4.  But the snake said to the woman, "Not true you will die.
     5.  Because God knows happen you eat, then your eyes will open and you will become the same-as God; you will know good and evil."
     6.  So the woman happened to see the tree was good for food and beautiful, she wanted the tree to make her wise; she took some food and ate; then she gave some also to her husband and he ate.
     7.  Then the eyes of both opened.  They knew they were-naked.  They sewed FIG leaves together to make clothes.

ROMANS 5:12, 17-19
    12.  One man, ADAM, brought sin into the world, and sin brought death.
    17.  Death reigns all people because one man sinned.  But God gives much mercy and a free gift of a holy life.  And now we reign in life through One Man, Jesus Christ.
    18.  Now, one man sinned and all people get condemned, the same-as One Man did a holy work and all people get forgiveness and life.
    19.  One man refused to obey God, and all people became sinners, the same-as One Man obeyed, and many people become holy.

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

MATTHEW 4:1-11
     1.  Then the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the dry country to let the Devil tempt HIM.
     2.  Jesus didn't eat for 40 days and 40 nights.  After that Jesus was-hungry.
     3.  Then the Devil came and said to Jesus, "If YOU are the Son of God, order these stones to become bread."
     4.  But Jesus answered, "The Holy Writings say, 'People must not live with food only but live with every word from the mouth of God.'"
     5.  Then the Devil brought Jesus into the Holy City and put Jesus high on the temple roof.
     6.  And the Devil said to Jesus, If YOU are the Son of God, then jump-down, because the Holy Writings say, 'HE will order angels to watch YOU.  And angels will support YOU on their hands, and you will not crush your foot against a stone.'"
     7.  Jesus answered, "Again the Holy Writings say, 'You will not tempt the Lord, your God.'"
     8.  Then the Devil brought Jesus to a very high mountain and showed HIM all the nations of the world and their glory.
     9.  And the Devil said to Jesus, "I will give these things if YOU kneel and worship me."
    10.  But Jesus answered, "Go-away, Satan, because the Holy Writings say, 'You must worship the Lord, your God, and you must serve only HIM.'"
    11.  Then the Devil went-away and angels came and served Jesus.

SECOND SUNDAY IN LENT
INTROIT: Remember, O Lord, YOUR great mercy and love, because YOUR mercy and love are eternal.  You people honoring the Lord, now trust in HIM;  The Lord  helps and protects you.  Lord, remember us and bless us.  HE will bless the house of ISRAEL; HE will bless the house of AARON; HE will bless the people honoring HIM both children and adults.  We must praise the Lord now and always.  Praise the Lord.

COLLECT: O God, YOU always show mercy, now show YOUR mercy to all people that turned-away from YOUR Word, and turn-them-back again with sorry hearts and a strong faith to believe YOUR true Word.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

GENESIS 12:1-8
     1.  In the country named HARAN the Lord said to a man named ABRAM, "Go-out from your country.  Go-away from your family and your father's house.  Go to a country I will show you.
     2.  And I will make you become a great nation.  I will bless you and make your name famous.  You will spread good to other people.
     3.  I will bless those people making you rich and happy.  I will punish those people hurting you.  Through you will all families on earth get a blessing."
     4.  Now ABRAM went same-as the Lord ordered.  His nephew named LOT went with him.  ABRAM was 75 years old at the time he moved from HARAN.
     5.  He brought SARA his wife and LOT his nephew and all the things they had and the servants had in HARAN.  They began to go to the country named CANAAN.
     6.  They arrived in CANAAN and ABRAM walked through the country to the place named SHECUM.  He slept near the OAK tree at MOREH.  The people living in that country were-named CANAANITES.
     7.  The Lord appeared to ABRAM and said, "I will give this country to your future family."  Then ABRAM built an altar there to remember the Lord's visit.
     8.  Then he moved his tent to the mountain East of BETHEL.  His tent was between BETHEL on the West and AI on the East.  In that place he built an altar to the Lord and prayed to HIM.

ROMANS 4:1-5, 13-17
     1.  What shall we say about ABRAHAM, the father of Jewish people?
     2.  If ABRAHAM is named 'holy' because he did good works, then he has a reason for boasting.  But he can't boast in-front-of God.
     3.  Why?  What does the Holy Writings say?  "God named ABRAHAM 'holy' because ABRAHAM believed God."
     4.  If you work, then the boss pays you.  The money you get is not a gift but a debt.  The boss must pay you because you earned it.
     5.  But if you have faith, not works, and you trust God because God makes bad people holy, then God will make you holy because you believed.
    13.  God made a promise to ABRAHAM and his children, "The world belongs to them."  God didn't make that promise because ABRAHAM obeyed the Law.  No!  God made that promise because ABRAHAM believed.  God decided ABRAHAM'S faith made him holy.
    14.  If God gives blessings only to people obeying the Law, then faith is worthless and God's promise is false.
    15.  Why?  Because the Law shows us sin, and sin makes God angry.  But if we have no Law, then it is impossible to break the Law.
    16.  Now the promise comes by faith.  Then God's promise is HIS free gift to all of ABRAHAM'S children, not only to people obeying the Law;  God shows mercy to all people believing same-as ABRAHAM believed.
    17.  Because ABRAHAM is our father, same-as the Holy Writings say, "I will make you the father of many nations."  God promised, and ABRAHAM believed.  God makes dead people alive again, and HE makes new things from nothing.

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

JOHN 4:5-26
     5.  Jesus came to a city named SYCHAR in the country named SAMARIA, near the place JACOB gave some land to his son JOSEPH.
     6.  That was also the place named JACOB'S WELL.  Jesus became tired from HIS travel and sat-down near the WELL.  The time was about noon.
     7.  Jesus' friends all went to the city to buy food.
     8.  Then a woman from SAMARIA came to the WELL to pull-up some water.  Jesus said to her, "Please, give-ME a drink of water."
     9.  The woman answered, "YOU are a Jew nd I am a SAMARITAN.  How can you ask me for a drink?"  (Jews have strong feelings against SAMARITANS and refused to use the same cups)
    10.  Jesus answered, "If you only knew the thing God gives, and if you knew ME, then you would ask ME for a drink, and I would give you the living water."
    11.  The woman said, "This WELL is deep, and YOU have no bucket.  Where do YOU get the living water?
    12.  Our father JACOB gave us this WELL, and he and his sons and all of his animals drank from this WELL.  Do YOU think YOU are better than JACOB?"
    13.  Jesus answered, "Every person drinking this water will become thirsty again.
    14.  But every person drinking the water I give will never become thirsty again.  The water I give will become same-as a water-spring inside him for eternal life."
    15.  The woman said, "Please!  Give-me that water!  Then I will never become thirsty again, and I will never need to come here to the WELL to get water."
    16.  Jesus said, "Go, invite your husband here."
    17.  The woman answered, "I have no husband."  Jesus said, "Correct!  You say you have no husband.
    18.  But you have five husbands!  And the man living with you now is not your husband.  You spoke the truth."
    19.  The woman said, "I understand YOU now.  YOU are a prophet.
    20.  Our fathers worshipped God on this mountain, but you Jews say JERUSALEM is the correct place for worshipping God."
    21.  Jesus answered, "Woman, believe ME.  The time will happen, people will worship God the Father not on this mountain and not in JERUSALEM.
    22.  You SAMARITAN people don't-know the God you worship, because God gives salvation through the Jewish people.
    23.  But the time will happen, and is already here now, true believers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth.  Because God seeks those worshippers.
    24.  God is a spirit.  And people wanting to worship HIM must worship in spirit and in truth."
    25.  The woman said, "I know the Savior, named Christ, will come.  Happen HE appears, then HE will explain everything to us."
    26.  Jesus answered, "ME, the Man talking with you, I am the Christ."

THIRD SUNDAY IN LENT
INTROIT: My eyes always watch the Lord, because HE will save my feet from stumbling.  I shout to the Lord; I pray to the Lord for mercy.  I shout to YOU, O Lord, and I say, "YOU protect me and bless me."  Listen to my prayer because I need YOUR help; save me from my enemies because they are strong.  Free me from my sins that I can praise YOUR name.  Then I will stand among holy people because YOU are good to me.

COLLECT: Almighty God, YOU know that we are weak people, now YOU protect us both inside and outside from all bodily hurts and bad thoughts that hurt our soul.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

ISAIAH 42:14-21
    14.  The Lord says, "I truly stayed silent a very long time.  I stayed quiet and reigned myself.  Now I will shout same-as a woman giving-birth.  I will breathe-violently.
    15.  I will destroy the mountains and hills and all their green growth will wither.  I will make rivers become small pools of water and dry-up.
    16.  I will make blind people walk on a road they don't-know and lead them on paths they don't-know.  I will make dark become light in-front-of them and make steep places level.  These are things I will work until finished.
    17.  Then those people trusting in carved idols and name metal idols their g-o-d-s will not go forward.  They will feel much shame.  Listen, you deaf people.  You blind people, open your eyes and see.
    18.  Who is blind?  Only MY servant.  Who is deaf?  Only MY announcer I sent.
    19.  You see many things, but you don't truly notice.
    20.  Your ears are open, but you hear nothing.
    21.  Because HE wants correct things, the Lord wants HIS teachings wonderful and glorious.

EPHESIANS 5:8-14
     8.  Remember!  In the past your hearts were full of darkness.  But now you are full of light from the Lord.  Now, let your lives show HIS light.
     9.  HIS light helps you have good and correct and honest actions.
    10.  Try to learn what things make the Lord happy.
    11.  Don't join in the actions of bad people, but show they are wrong.
    12.  It is shameful to talk about the things those people do in secret.
    13.  If those things are brought to God's light, then we can understand and maybe those people will understand.
    14.  This is the meaning of the words: "Sleeper, wake-up!  Rise from the dead!  And Christ will give you light!"

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

JOHN 9:13-17, 34-39
    13.  The man was blind in the past, but now could see.  His friends brought him to show the Jewish Law Teachers.
    14.  Jesus healed the blind man on the holy worship day.
    15.  The Law Teachers asked the man, "In the past you were blind, correct?  But now you can see,  How?"  The man answered, "Jesus put a little-bit of MUD on my eyes.  Then I washed my face, and now I can see."
    16.  Some of the Law Teachers said, "Jesus can't be from God because HE doesn't obey our church laws.  HE must not work or heal people on the worship day."
    17.  Now, the Law Teachers asked the man, "Jesus made you see, correct?  Tell us about HIM."  The man answered, "HE is a prophet."
    34.  The Law Teachers said, "You were-born with sin, and you want to teach us?"  Then they kicked the man out of the church.
    35.  Jesus heard about that and Jesus found the man and said, "DO you believe in the Son of God?"
    36.  The man answered, "Please tell me, who is the Son of God because I want to believe."
    37.  Jesus said, " You have-already seen HIM, because I am the Son of God."
    38.  The man said, "Lord, I believe!"  Then the man knelt and worshipped Jesus.
    39.  Jesus said, "I came to this world to judge.  Then blind people will see, and people thinking they can see will become blind."

FOURTH SUNDAY IN LENT
INTROIT: Be excited and happy with the city JERUSALEM all you people; be excited you people that grieve.  Give praise to the Lord because HE heard my asking for mercy.  Wait for the Lord; stay strong, trust, and wait for HIM.  One thing I ask from the Lord; that I will live all my days in HIS house and watch HIS beautiful face.  The Lord protects and helps me; my heart trusts HIM.  The Lord gives strength to HIS people and protects HIS chosen people.  Save YOUR people and bless them; become their shepherd and take-care-of them forever.

COLLECT: Almighty God, our heavenly Father, YOU show mercy new every morning.  We don't earn YOUR good love, but still YOU give us all we need for our body and soul.  Give us YOUR Holy Spirit that we will accept YOUR good love and give thanks for all YOUR blessings and obediently serve YOU.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

HOSEA 5:15-6:2
    15.  I will go again to MY place until the people confess their guilt and seek MY face.  In their trouble they will eagerly search-for ME.
6:1.  They will say, "Come, let us go again to the Lord.  HE got hurt for us, so-that HE will heal us.  HE gave pain to us, but HE will bandage us.
     2.  After two days HE will give us life.  On the third day HE will raise us to live with HIM."

ROMANS 8:1-10
     1.  Now those people trusting in Christ Jesus can't be-condemned.
     2.  If the Holy Spirit reigns in your heart, then you have eternal life because Christ Jesus freed you from sin reigning in your heart and sin only gives eternal death in HELL.
     3.  We couldn't be-saved by the Law because of our weak sinful hearts, but God saved us by sending HIS Son in the body of a man instead-of us.
     4.  God condemns our sinful hearts, so-that if we have the Holy Spirit reigning in our hearts, then we will be-righteous same-as the Law demands.
     5.  Those people having their sinful hearts reigning in them are always thinking about sinful things, but those people having the Holy Spirit reigning in their hearts will always be-thinking about holy things.
     6.  The thoughts of the sinful heart lead us to eternal death, but the thoughts of the Holy Spirit leads us to eternal life and peace.
     7.  This happens because the sinful heart hates God.  The sinful heart refuses to obey God's Laws and truly can't obey the Laws.
     8.  People with sinful hearts can't please God.
     9.  But you don't have the sinful heart reigning, but the Holy Spirit reigning in you.  Anyone not having the Holy Spirit reigning in his heart, that person doesn't belong to Christ.
    10.  And if you belong to Christ, indifferent your bodies are dead because you sin, your soul is alive because you are now righteous.

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

MATTHEW 20:17-28
    17.  Jesus went to the Holy City and brought HIS twelve friends, and Jesus said to them,
    18.  "Look, we are going to the Holy City, and the Son of Man will be-betrayed into the hands of the reigning priests and Law Teachers.
    19.  They will condemn ME to death and give ME to the unbelievers.  I will be-mocked, beaten, and crucified, but on the third day I will arise."
    20.  Then the mother of JAMES and JOHN came to Jesus with her two sons and knelt in-front-of Jesus because she wanted to ask Jesus for something.
    21.  Jesus said, "What do you want?"  The mother said, "Promise me that my two sons will sit at YOUR right side and left side in heaven."
    22.  Jesus answered, "You don't-know the thing you ask.  Can you two drink the cup that I must drink?" (Jesus meant - Can you accept to suffer the same-as I will suffer on the cross?)  The two sons said, "Yes, we can."
    23.  Jesus said, "You will drink from that cup, but to sit at MY right side or MY left side is something I can give only to those MY Father prepared for it."
    24.  The other friends heard about that and they became angry with JAMES and JOHN.
    25.  Jesus spoke to HIS twelve friends, "You know that princes reign over a nation, and the great intelligent men become their leaders.
    26.  But among you, it is different.  Anyone wanting to become great among you, that person must become the servant.
    27.  And anyone wanting to be the chief reigner among you, that person must become a slave.
    28.  The same way the Son of Man didn't come here to have people serve HIM, but HE came same-as a servant and gives HIS life same-as a payment for all people.

[A]
FIFTH SUNDAY IN LENT
INTROIT: O God, judge me and defend me against the unbelieving nations.  Save me from sinful and lying people.  I love the Lord, because HE heard my prayers; HE heard my shouts for mercy.  I will pray to the Lord all my life, because HE attends to me.  Death surrounds me, and the grave grieves me;  I am filled with trouble and sadness.  Then I prayed to the Lord, "O Lord, save me!"  Because YOU, Lord, saved my soul from death, YOU wiped-away my tears, and YOU protected my feet from stumbling.

COLLECT: Almighty and eternal God, help us remember and give thanks to YOU for Jesus' suffering on the cross that we are forgiven of our sins, and that YOU took-away the devil's power that we can be saved from eternal death.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

EZEKIEL 37:1-3, 11-14
     1.  The Lord put HIS hand on me.  By HIS Spirit the Lord carried me and put-me-down in the middle of a valley filled with bones.
     2.  HE made me walk around them.  There were many bones in that valley.  The bones were very dry.
     3.  The Lord spoke: "Son of man, can these bones become alive?"  And I answered, "Lord God, YOU know."
    11.  Then HE said to me: "Son of man, these bones are all the people of ISRAEL.  They are saying, 'Our bones are dry.  We've lost all hope.  We are separated from God.'
    12.  So preach and tell them, 'The Lord God says this: "I will open your graves and raise you up, MY people.  I will bring you into the land of ISRAEL.
    13.  Yes, I will open your graves and raise you up and you know that I am the Lord.
    14.  Then I will put MY Spirit in you and you will live.  I will put you in your own land.  Then you will know that I am the Lord.  I promised that and I will do it." says the Lord.'"

ROMANS 8:11-19
    11.  Now if the Holy Spirit lives in you, that same Holy Spirit raised Jesus from death, that Holy Spirit will also make your dying bodies become alive because HE lives in you.
    12.  Therefore, Christian friends, we don't owe our sinful bodies anything.
    13.  If you follow the hungers of your sinful body, you will die.  But if the Holy Spirit helps you to stop these sinful hungers, you will live.
    14.  All those people following the Holy Spirit are named the children of God.
    15.  Because the Holy Spirit doesn't make you a slave and make you become afraid.  No!  Instead the Holy Spirit makes you God's children, and with the Holy Spirit's help we pray, "Father, my Father."
    16.  The Holy Spirit joins with our souls to announce that we are God's children.
    17.  Because we are HIS children, we will have the blessings that God gives to HIS people, and we will also have the blessing that God gave to Christ.  If we join with Christ's suffering, we will also join with Christ's glory in heaven.
    18.  I think that those sufferings we have now here can't be-compared with the great glory that we will see in heaven.
    19.  All the things God made are eagerly waiting for God to show HIS children.

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

JOHN 11:47-53
    47.  Then the reigning priests and Law teachers called a meeting  of the officers.  "What must we do?  This man, Jesus, is doing many mighty works.
    48.  If we let Jesus continue this way, everyone will believe in HIM, and then the Romans will come and destroy the temple and force us to become slaves."
    49.  But one man, named CAIAPHAS, the Chief Priest that year, said, "You don't-know anything.
    50.  You must consider.  It-is-better that one man dies instead-of having the whole Jewish nation die.  Correct?"
    51.  Truly CAIAPHAS didn't think about this himself, but because he was the Chief Priest that year, he was-speaking a prophecy that Jesus must die instead-of the Jewish nation dying.
    52.  And not for the Jewish nation, but also for all of God's children in the world."
    53.  From that day onward the Jewish leaders made plans to kill Jesus.

COLLECT: Almighty and eternal God the Father, YOU sent YOUR Son same-as a man to suffer death on the cross that all people will follow HIS example of humility, we ask YOU to help us follow Jesus' example of patience, then we can join in HIS arising.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

ISAIAH 50:4-9
     4.  The Lord made me able to teach.  Now I know how to help the discouraged person with a word of encouragement.  Every morning God awakes me to hear.
     5.  HE opens my ear to attend same-as a learner.  O haven't refused or turned-away.
     6.  I gave MY back to beatings and MY cheeks to men pulling out MY whiskers.  I didn't turn MY face from shame or from men SPITTING on ME.
     7.  The Lord God helps ME.  That's the reason shame can't defeat ME.  I attend straight ahead and I know I shall succeed.
     8.  God is with ME; HE makes ME correct.  Will anyone quarrel with ME?  Let us stand together in-front-of the judge.  Who will challenge MY rights?  Let him stand in-front-of ME.
     9.  The Lord God will help ME.  Who then can judge ME for punishment?

PHILIPPIANS 2:5-11
     5.  Now think in your minds same-as Christ Jesus.
     6.  Now Jesus is the person of God HIMSELF and equal with God; but Jesus didn't rest with that honor.
     7.  HE hid HIS glory, and Jesus came in the body of a servant; and HE was-born same-as a true man.
     8.  Through obedience Christ humbled HIMSELF until death, and that death on the cross.
     9.  Now, God gave Jesus much honor and put HIS name over all other names.
    10.  And in-front-of Jesus' name every one must bow-down, all in heaven and on earth and under the earth.
    11.  And every mouth will confess that Jesus is Lord.  This honors God the Father.

GRADUAL: Christ entered the Most Holy Place once for all by HIS OWN blood, freeing us forever.  Christ brings a new agreement from God to HIS people that they can have the things God promised.  God gives salvation to HIS people;  HE established HIS agreement forever.

MATTHEW 27:11-54
    11.  Jesus stood in-front-of PONTIUS PILATE.  The governor asked, "Are YOU the king of the Jews?"  Jesus answered, "Yes."
    12.  Jesus didn't say anything while the reigning priests and older Jewish leaders blamed HIM.
    13.  The governor said to Jesus, "YOU hear these people blaming YOU.  Why not answer them?"
    14.  Jesus answered nothing, and that surprised the governor.
    15.  Every year at PASSOVER time the governor always freed one man from jail.
    16.  Now a famous man was in jail named BARABBAS.
    17.  All the people stood in-front-of the governor's house, and PILATE asked, "Which man do you want me to free, BARABBAS or Jesus the Christ?"
    18.  The governor knew the Jews were jealous of Jesus.
    19.  While sitting in the judgement place the governor received a letter from his wife. "Don't do anything with that man Jesus.  He is not guilty.  I had a bad dream about HIM last night."
    20.  But the reigning priests and older Jewish leaders told the people to ask for Barabbas freed and Jesus killed.
    21.  PILATE said, "I have Barabbas and Jesus.  Which man shall I free for you?" The people answered, "Barabbas!"
    22.  The governor asked, "What will I do with Jesus, the Christ?"  All the people shouted, "Kill HIM!"
    23.  The governor asked, "Why do you want me to kill HIM?  What wrong did HE do?"  But all the people shouted more loudly, "Kill HIM!"
    24.  PILATE saw the people becoming more angry and that they won't change their mind.  So he washed his hands in water in-front-of the people and said, "I am not guilty for this man's death.  You are the guilty people."
    25.  All the people answered, "We are responsible for HIS death."
    26.  Then the governor freed Barabbas and told the soldiers to whip Jesus.  Then the soldiers led Jesus to be-killed on the cross.
    27.  Then the soldiers brought Jesus into the governor's house and all the soldiers gathered around Jesus.
    28.  The soldiers took-off Jesus' clothes and put a red robe on HIM.
    29.  Then the soldiers made a crown from thorns and put that on Jesus' head, and they put a stick in HIS right hand.  Then they bowed-down and teased HIM saying, "Hello, king of the Jews!"
    30.  The soldiers spit on Jesus, and they took the stick and hit HIM on the head.
    31.  Happened the teasing finished, the soldiers took-off the red robe and put-on HIS own clothing and led Jesus to be-killed on the cross.
    32.  While walking out-of the city, the soldiers forced another man named SIMON from CYRENE to carry the cross for Jesus.
    33.  They arrived at the place named GOLGOTHA (That means PLACE OF THE SKULL).
    34.  The soldiers gave Jesus wine to drink mixed with some medicine, but Jesus tasted the wine and refused to drink that.
    35.  The soldiers nailed Jesus to the cross, and then they gambled to share Jesus' clothes.
    36.  The soldiers sat and watched Jesus.
    37.  The soldiers nailed a sign above Jesus' head with his wrongs written on it.  The sign said: "This is Jesus, the king of the Jews."
    38.  Two robbers were-nailed to crosses, one cross on the right and one cross on the left.
    39.  People walked near the cross and said bad things to Jesus.
    40.  The people laughed and said, "YOU said YOU will destroy the temple and build that again in three days.  Now save YOURSELF!  Come-down here if YOU truly are the Son of God!"
    41.  The reigning priests, the Law teachers, and the older Jewish leaders stood near the cross and also teased Jesus.
    42.  They said, "HE saved other people, but HE can't save HIMSELF!  People name HIM the king of ISRAEL.  If HE is king, then HE should save HIMSELF and we will believe in HIM.
    43.  HE trusted God.  Let God save HIM now, if God truly wants HIM. HE said HE was the Son of God."
    44.  And also the robbers on the crosses said bad things to Jesus.
    45.  At noon all-over became dark and that stayed for three hours.
    46.  About three o'clock Jesus shouted loudly, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?"  That means, "MY God, MY God, why do you leave me alone?"
    47.  Some people standing near heard that and said, "HE is calling to ELIJAH."
    48.  Quickly one man ran, got a SPONGE, filled that with vinegar, put that on a stick, and held it for Jesus to drink.
    49.  But other people said, "Don't bother Jesus.  We want to see if ELIJAH will come to save HIM."
    50.  Again Jesus shouted loudly and HE died.
    51.  Happened Jesus died, then the curtain in the temple tore in two-pieces from top to bottom.  The earth shook and rocks broke.
    52.  The graves opened and many of God's people in the graves became alive.
    53.  Happened Jesus arose from the dead, then those people from the graves went into the holy city and many people saw them.
    54.  The soldiers guarding Jesus' grave saw the earth shake and everything that happened, and they became afraid and said, "HE truly was the Son of God!"

What will I give to the Lord for all HIS gifts to me?  I will take the cup of salvation and pray in the name of the Lord.  Important in the eyes of the Lord is the death of HIS dear people.  O Lord, I am truly YOUR servant; the son of YOUR servant girl;  YOU freed me from my slavery.  I will give a thank-offering to YOU and pray in the name of the Lord.

COLLECT: Lord Jesus, YOU asked us to remember YOUR suffering and death every time we worship with this Lord's Supper.  Let this gift of body and blood work in our hearts and lives so that we will announce the things YOU finished done.  We ask this knowing YOU live and reign with the Father and the Spirit eternally one God.  Amen.

EXODUS 12:1-14
     1.  The Lord spoke to MOSES and AAron in EGYPT.
     2.  "This month will be the beginning of the year for you.
     3.  Tell all the people of ISRAEL that on the tenth day of this month each family will choose one sheep from among their animals;
     4.  If one family is small and can't eat the whole sheep, then let two families share one sheep together.  See how-many people together will eat that animal.
     5.  The animal should-be a perfect one year old male sheep or a goat.
     6.  Hold the animal until the fourteenth day, and then every family in ISRAEL will kill the animal that night.
     7.  Take some of the blood from the animal and paint it on the two door-posts and above the door of the house.
     8.  That night cook the meat on a fire and eat it with bread made without YEAST and eat bitter HERBS.
     9.  Don't eat red meat or meat cooked in water.  The meat must be cooked on the fire, the whole animal...head, legs and inside parts.
    10.  Don't leave any meat in the morning, but burn-up any meat that was-not eaten.
    11.  Eat quickly, have your belts tied, your shoes on your feet, and your walking stick in your hand.  This day is the Lord's PASSOVER DAY.
    12.  That night I will come through EGYPT and kill every first born man and animal. and I the Lord will punish judge all the gods of EGYPT.
    13.  The blood on the doors of your houses will-be a sign.  Happen I see the blood, I will pass that house and no trouble will happen in your house while I come to kill in EGYPT.
    14.  Remember that day, and every year worship the Lord.  Let your children in the future remember that day forever."

I CORINTHIANS 11:23-26
    23.  I received my teaching from the Lord, and I gave you that same teaching.  On the same night Jesus got betrayed, HE took bread.
    24.  And then HE gave thanks, and HE broke the bread and said, "This is MY body I give for you.  Eat this in remembering ME."
    25.  The eating finished, then Jesus raised-the-cup and said, "This cup is the new promise in MY blood.  Drink this again and again in remembering ME."
    26.  Because you announce the Lord's death until HE comes, everytime you eat this bread and drink this cup.

GRADUAL: Christ entered the Most Holy Place once for all by HIS OWN blood, freeing us forever.  Christ brings a new agreement from God to HIS people that they can have the things God promised.  God gives salvation to HIS people;  HE established HIS agreement forever.

JOHN 13:1-17,34
     1.  Before the PASSOVER holy day began, Jesus knew HIS time arrived.  HE must leave this world and go again to the Father.  And because Jesus loved HIS people in this world, HE loved HIS people to the end.
     2.  Now during the evening meal, the devil gave JUDAS ISCARIOT the idea...betray Jesus.  Now JUDAS was SIMON'S son.
     3.  Jesus knew the Father gave all things into HIS hands, and Jesus knew HE came from God and now goes to God.
     4.  HE stood during the evening meal and took-off HIS robe, took a TOWEL and tied-that-around-HIS-waist.
     5.  Then Jesus poured water into a bowl and began washing the feet of HIS friends.  And Jesus dried their feet with that TOWEL.
     6.  Then Jesus came to SIMON PETER, and PETER said, "Lord, YOU want to wash my feet?"
     7.  Jesus answered, "Now you don't understand, but later you will understand."
     8.  PETER said, "YOU will never wash my feet."  Jesus answered, "Except I wash you, then you will not share in MY work."
     9.  PETER said, "Not only my feet, but wash my hands and my face."
    10.  Jesus said to him, "Everyone with a bath is all clean, except he must wash his feet.  And you are all clean, but not all of you."
    11.  Jesus knew the betrayer.  Now Jesus said, "You are not all clean."
    12.  Jesus washed their feet, put-on HIS robe, and sat-down.  Then HE said to them, "Do you understand this thing I did to you?
    13.  You name ME, 'Teacher' and 'Lord'; and you are correct, because I am your Teacher and Lord.
    14.  Now if I washed your feet, and I am your Teacher and Lord, then you also wash the feet of one-another.
    15.  I gave you this example, and you do the-same-as I have-done.
    16.  Honestly, I tell you that the servant should not feel more important than the MASTER.  And if you are sent by someone, you should not feel more important than the person sending you.
    17.  If you understand this, and you do that, then you will be-happy.
    34.  I give you a new Commandment: Love one-another.  You must love one-another same-as I loved you.

GOOD FRIDAY
INTROIT: O Lord, don't stay far-away; O my strength, hurry and help me.  My God, my God, why YOU forget me?  Why are-YOU not helping me and not listening to my prayers?  In YOU our fathers trusted; they trusted and YOU saved them. But I am same-as a worm and not a man;  people are-ashamed of me and hate me.  But YOU led me since my birth; YOU taught me to trust since my mother fed me from her breast.  YOU took-care of me from the day of my birth until now; YOU are my God since my birth.  Don't stay far-away, because trouble is near, and none other can help.

COLLECT: Almighty God, in mercy look-down upon YOUR family; YOUR Son, Jesus, accepted betrayal and let HIMSELF get-arrested and suffered death on the cross for us.  Jesus now lives and reigns with YOU Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

ISAIAH 52:13 - 53:12
    13.  See!  MY Servant will succeed.  HE will arise, be-praised, and given high honor.
    14.  Many people were-surprised seeing HIM, because HIS face was more ugly than any other man, HIS body more ugly than any man.
    15.  HE will cleanse many nations.  Kings will be-open-mouthed in-front-of HIM, because they will see things they never before saw, and they will hear things they never before thought about.
53:1.  Lord, who believes the things we hear?  And who sees the arm of the Lord?
     2.  We announced in-front-of HIM that HE is same-as a young child and a ROOT in dry ground.  HIS face is nothing, and HE shows no glory.  Now we didn't look-at HIM, and HIS face had no beauty.
     3.  And HIS face was without honor in-front-of all people.  HE was a man with STRIPES of punishment, and HE knew sadness.  Because no one saw HIS face, people hated HIM and gave HIM no praise.
     4.  This man accepted our sins and our sadness.  And we thought HE HIMSELF was in trouble and punishment and suffering.
     5.  Our law breaking gave HIM much suffering, and our sins made HIM suffer pain.  The punishment for our peace was on HIM, and with HIS STRIPES of punishment we get healed.
     6.  All we finished strayed same-as sheep.  Each person strayed in his-own way.  And the Lord put our sin on HIM.
     7.  And in HIS bad suffering HE didn't shout.  Same-as people lead a sheep to their death offering, and same-as a lamb is silent in-front-of the SHEARER; also HE didn't shout.
     8.  They took-away HIS judgment with shame.  And who among HIS people announce that they take HIM from the world of living people?  HE went to HIS death for the sins of my people.
     9.  People gave HIM a grave with sinners and a grave with a rich man in HIS death.  No-matter HE didn't break laws, and no lies HE spoke.
    10.  But the Lord wanted to punish HIM with STRIPES.  You gave HIM to take-away sin.  HIS soul will see HIS children, and HE will make HIS life long.  And the Lord wants to take-away some suffering from HIS soul.
    11.  Show HIM light and lead HIM with understanding.  My righteous Servant will decide many people righteous, because HE will burden their sins.
    12.  Now I will give HIM many people for a gift, and HE will share the riches with the strong people. Because HE poured-out HIS soul to death, people named HIM a law breaker.  And HE burdened the sins of many people and prayed for sinners.

HEBREWS 4:14-16; 5:7-9
    14.  Because we have a great Chief Priest in heaven, Jesus, God's Son, let us  hold to our faith.
    15.  We have a Chief Priest that can sympathize with our weaknesses.  HE got tempted in every way the-same-as us, but HE didn't sin.
    16.  Let us boldly go to God's throne of love to get mercy and find love to help us happen we need it.
5:7.  During HIS life here on earth Jesus prayed and begged with much crying to God the Savior from death.  Because HE honored God, then God heard HIS prayer.
     8.  No-matter Jesus is the Son, HE learned from HIS suffering about obedience.
     9.  Because HE was perfect, Jesus became the giver of eternal salvation to all obeying HIM.

GRADUAL: Christ entered the Most Holy Place once for all by HIS OWN blood, freeing us forever.  Christ brings a new agreement from God to HIS people that they can have the things God promised.  God gives salvation to HIS people;  HE established HIS agreement forever.

JOHN 19:17-30
    17.  Jesus carried HIS cross to the place named SKULL; the Jews named that place GOLGOTHA.
    18.  Jesus got crucified with two other men, Jesus in the middle.
    19.  PILATE put the wooden-sign on the cross - JESUS FROM NAZARETH, KING OF THE JEWS.
    20.  Many Jews read the words because that place was near the city, and the words were-written in Jewish, Latin and Greek.
    21.  The chief priests told PILATE to change the words.  Not "KING OF THE JEWS" but "HE SAID I AM KING OF THE JEWS."
    22.  Pilate said, "I wrote that finished!"
    23.  The soldiers crucifying Jesus divided HIS clothes, some for each soldier, except Jesus' coat; that was-sewn-from-top-to-bottom all one coat.
    24.  The soldiers said, "Let's not rip the coat but throw-dice to see the winner."  The Bible wrote about this, "They divided MY clothes and for MY coat threw-dice."  The soldiers did that.
    25.  Now Jesus' mother and HIS aunt MARY, the wife of CLEOPAS, and MARY from the city MAGDALA stood near the cross.
    26.  Jesus saw HIS mother and HIS dear friend standing near the cross.  Jesus said to HIS mother, "Woman, there is your son!"  Then HE said to JOHN, "There is your mother!"
    27.  From that day forward JOHN took-care-of MARY in his home.
    28.  Then Jesus knew that everything was-finished, and that the Bible verse would truly happen Jesus said, "I thirst."
    29.  Near the cross was a jar of sour wine.  A soldier put a sponge filled with wine on a stick and held that near HIS mouth.
    30.  Happened Jesus tasted the wine, Jesus said, "IT IS FINISHED!"  Then HIS head bowed-down and HIS breathing-stopped.
