ASH WEDNESDAY

INTROIT: Offer to God your sorrow, a sad and sorry heart God will attend. Show mercy to me, O God, agreeing-with YOUR love and kindness, agreeing-with YOUR much mercy, forgive my law breaking.  Wash-away my wrongs, and make me clean from my sin.  Because I know my law breaking, and my sin is always in-front-of me.  Look, you want truth in the heart, and in secret you will teach me wisdom.  Cleanse me with YOUR Word and I will become clean.  YOU wash me and I will become white same-as snow.  Let me hear happiness and excitement; then my broken body can become happy.  Hide YOUR face from my sins, and forgive all my wrongs.  Begin in me a clean heart, O God, and make a new correct spirit in me.  Don't throw-away me from in-front-of you, and don't take-away YOUR Holy Spirit from me.  Again give me happiness with YOUR saving work, and give-me an eager soul.

COLLECT: Almighty and eternal God, YOU don't hate things YOU made, and YOU forgive sins of sorry people.  Now in us make and begin new and sorry hearts.  Then we will feel sorrow about our sins and cry about our sinful souls, and then we will receive forgiveness from YOU, our God of mercy.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

JOEL 2:12-19
    12.  Now the Lord your God says: "Come again to ME with all your heart.  Come, not eating, crying, and sorrow."
    13.  Don't rip your clothing, but feel honest sorrow in your hearts.  Come again to the Lord your God, because HE shows kindness and mercy.  HIS anger is slow, and HE shows much love, and HE wants to change HIS judgment against evil.
    14.  Don't-know?  Maybe HE will change HIS heart and come again and give a blessing while HE passes-by.  And maybe that blessing is a food or drink offering to give the Lord, your God.
    15.  Blow-the-trumpet in the city JERUSALEM.  Prepare a holy day with no eating.  Announce the day for holy worship.
    16.  The people meeting together.  Call everyone for worship.  Bring the old people and the children, also the young babies.  Let the groom leave his room and let the bride leave her room.
    17.  Let the priests -- those servants of the Lord -- let the priests shout in the temple between the altar and the PORCH.  Let them say, "Lord, save YOUR people and don't make your gift a shameful thing, or other nations will mock us.  Don't let the nations say: 'Where is their God?'"
    18.  The Lord was jealous for HIS land, and felt mercy for HIS people.
    19.  And the Lord answered HIS people: "Now I send corn and wine and oil to you, and you will be-satisfied.  And I will never again make a thing of shame in-front-of the other nations.

II CORINTHIANS 5:20 - 6:2
    20.  In the name of Jesus Christ and for HIM, we beg you, let God change you from enemies to become friends.
    21.  Christ had no sin, but God made HIM become our sin offering.  God did this for us, so that in Christ we can become alright with God.
6:1.  We work together-with HIM, and we beg you: Don't waste this wonderful kindness of God.
     2.  Because God says: "Your prayer came to ME happened I was ready to attend.  I helped you in the day of salvation.  Attend, now is the hour to get God's kindness.  Today is the day to become saved."

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

MATTHEW 6:1-6, 16-21
     1.  Jesus taught them saying, "Be-careful!  Don't do your good works in-front-of people; don't let people see the things you do.  Because then you will lose the gift from your Father in heaven.
     2.  Happen you give a gift to a poor person, don't boast about that to others.  Don't copy hypocrites.  They blow-trumpets in the churches and on the streets so that people will praise them.  Remember this!  They already received their gift.
     3.  NO, happen you help a poor person, don't tell your left hand the things your right hand does.  Don't tell your best friend about it, but do good things secretly.
     4.  And your Father sees the things you do secretly and HE will bless you.
     5.  Now about prayer, happen you pray, don't do same-as hypocrites.  They enjoy standing and praying in the churches and on the streets so that everyone will see them.  Remember this!  They already received their gift.
     6.  NO, happen you pray, go to your room alone and close the door, and pray to your Father secretly, and your Father sees the things you do secretly and HE will bless you.
    16.  Happen you give-up eating, don't copy the hypocrites with their sad faces.  They walk around with a hungry face so that everyone will see their giving-up eating.  Remember this!  They already received their gift.
    17.  Happen you give-up food, wash-your-face and comb-your-hair.
    18.  Then others can't know that you are giving-up eating.  But your Father will know.  YES, your Father sees secret things and HE will bless you.
    19.  Don't save-money riches on earth, because that can be-destroyed by worms or fire, or robbers can steal that.
    20.  Instead save-money things in heaven, because no worms or fire can destroy in heaven, and no robbers can steal that.
    21.  Because the things you love most, that you will attend-to.

FIRST SUNDAY IN LENT
INTROIT: Anyone praying to ME, I will answer you;  I will stay with you during trouble, save you and honor you.  I will give-you long life and show you MY salvation.  If you live everyday with the Lord, our protector and Most High God, then HE will not let any hurt happen to you and no trouble in your house.  Because God commands the angels to stay with you and protect you always.  The angels will lift-you-up that you don't hurt yourself.  You will walk among lions and snakes and walk on them.  The Lord says: Because you love ME, I will save you.  I will protect you because you know MY name.  You will pray to ME and I will answer you.  I will stay with you during trouble, save you and honor you.

COLLECT: O almighty and eternal God, we ask YOU to lead, make holy, and reign-over our hearts and bodies that we will obey all YOUR laws; and watch-over and protect us in body and soul.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

DEUTERONOMY 26:5-10
     5.  MOSES taught the people: You will remember and speak in-front-of the Lord your God: "My father was a wandering man from the country ARAMEA, and he went-down to EGYPT and lived there with his small family.. In EGYPT he became a great and mighty nation with many people.
     6.  But the EGYPTIAN people were cruel and beat us and gave us a hard slavery.
     7.  Then we shouted to the Lord, the God of our fathers.  And the Lord heard our voice, and HE saw our suffering, our hard work, and our oppression.
     8.  Then the Lord brought us from EGYPT with HIS mighty hand and HIS out-stretched arm with great fear, with many wonderful happenings.
     9.  And HE brought us to this place and gave us this land filled with milk and HONEY.  And notice, now I bring the first growing food of this land that YOU gave me."
    10.  Now MOSES said, "Set-down your gift in-front-of the Lord your God and then worship the Lord your God."

ROMANS 10:8-13
     8.  The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart; that word is the word of faith that we preach,
     9.  That if you will confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and will believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved.
    10.  Because with the heart a person believes and with the mouth a person confesses about his Savior.
    11.  Because the Holy Writings says, "Anyone believing in Jesus will not be-ashamed."
    12.  Because God sees no difference between a Jewish person and a Greek person; because the same Lord over all people is merciful to all that pray to HIM.
    13.  Because anyone that prays in the name of the Lord will be-saved.

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

LUKE 4:1-13
     1.  Jesus was-leaving the place near the river named JORDAN, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus to the dry country,
     2.  And the Devil tempted Jesus for 40 days.  And during that time Jesus ate nothing.  At the end of the 40 days, Jesus became hungry.
     3.  And the Devil said to Jesus, "If YOU are the Son of God, command this rock to change into bread."
     4.  And Jesus answered the Devil, "God's Word says that man can't live with bread only, but live with every Word from God."
     5.  And the Devil brought Jesus to a high mountain and showed Jesus all the nations on earth,
     6.  And the Devil said to Jesus, "I will give YOU power to reign over all these people, because they all belong to me and I can give them to anyone I want.
     7.  If YOU will kneel and worship me, I will give these people to YOU."
     8.  And Jesus answered, "Get-behind me, Devil; because God's Word says you must worship the Lord, your God, and serve only God."
     9.  And the Devil brought Jesus to the city named JERUSALEM and put Jesus high on the roof of the temple and said, "If YOU are the Son of God, jump-down:
    10.  Because God's Word says, 'God will command the angels to watch YOU;
    11.  And the angels will catch YOU so that YOU will not hurt your foot in falling.'"
    12.  And Jesus answered, "God's Word says, 'You must not tempt the Lord your God.'"
    13.  And happened the Devil finished all the temptations, the Devil was-leaving from Jesus for-a-while.

SECOND SUNDAY IN LENT
INTROIT: Remember, O Lord, YOUR great mercy and love, because YOUR mercy and love are eternal.  You people honoring the Lord, now trust in HIM;  The Lord  helps and protects you.  Lord, remember us and bless us.  HE will bless the house of ISRAEL; HE will bless the house of AARON; HE will bless the people honoring HIM both children and adults.  We must praise the Lord now and always.  Praise the Lord.

COLLECT: O God, YOU always show mercy, now show YOUR mercy to all people that turned-away from YOUR Word, and turn-them-back again with sorry hearts and a strong faith to believe YOUR true Word.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

JEREMIAH 26:8-15
     8.  JEREMIAH finished saying everything the Lord commanded him to tell all the people.  But then the priests, the prophets, and all the people became angry and grabbed him saying,
     9.  "You must die!  Why do you speak prophecy in the name of the Lord?  Why do you say this temple will become same-as the city SHILOH - destroyed, Why?  Why do you say this city will become destroyed and no one will live here anymore, Why?"   All the people came around JEREMIAH in the temple of the Lord.
    10.  Happened the leaders of JUDAH heard about these things, then they began leaving the house of the king and sat in their places near the New Gate of the temple.
    11.  Then the priests and prophets said to the leaders and to all the people, "This man deserves death, because he spoke against our city and you yourselves heard him."
    12.  Then JEREMIAH said to all the leaders and to all the people, "The Lord sent me to speak everything you heard me say against this temple and against the city.
    13.  You must change the way you live and instead do correct things.  You must obey the Lord your God.  If you do that, then the Lord will change HIS mind about the destruction HE announced against you.
    14.  But me?  I am in your hands.  Do against me same-as you think is good and correct;
    15.  But understand this; if you kill me, then you and this city are guilty for killing an innocent man.  Because it-is-true the Lord sent me to give you this warning."

PHILIPPIANS 3:17 - 4:1
    17.  My Christian friends, all of you copy my life more and more, and watch those that follow our example.
    18.  I often told you before and now I tell you with tears, many people live same-as enemies of the cross of Christ.
    19.  At the end they will be-destroyed, because they make food same-as a god.  They are happy about shameful things.  They think only about earthly things.
    20.  But we are God's people and we watch for the Lord Jesus to come from heaven same-as the Savior.
    21.  Jesus will change our humble bodies and make them same-as HIS heavenly body.  With that same power HE reigns all things and everything serves HIM.
4:1.  And now, my Christian friends, I love you and I want to see you because you give me much happiness.  Now you stay strong in your faith.

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

LUKE 13:31-35
    31.  A few Law teachers came to Jesus and said to HIM, "YOU must leave from here now, because king HEROD wants to kill YOU."
    32.  Jesus answered, "Go and tell that fox: 'Listen, today and tomorrow I will take-out evil spirits and heal people and on the third day I will finish my work.'
    33.  But I must work today, tomorrow, and the third day, because it is not correct for a prophet to die in another place, except die in the city named JERUSALEM.
    34.  O JERUSALEM!  JERUSALEM!  You kill the prophets and you throw stones to kill those people God sends to you.  Often I wanted to gather all your people same-as a HEN gathers her babies under her wings, but you stubbornly refused.
    35.  Look, now I will no more help you.  I tell you, notice, you will not see me around here again until you say, 'Blessed is that One coming in the name of the Lord.'"

THIRD SUNDAY IN LENT
INTROIT: My eyes always watch the Lord, because HE will save my feet from stumbling.  I shout to the Lord; I pray to the Lord for mercy.  I shout to YOU, O Lord, and I say, "YOU protect me and bless me."  Listen to my prayer because I need YOUR help; save me from my enemies because they are strong.  Free me from my sins that I can praise YOUR name.  Then I will stand among holy people because YOU are good to me.

COLLECT: Almighty God, YOU know that we are weak people, now YOU protect us both inside and outside from all bodily hurts and bad thoughts that hurt our soul.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

EXODUS 3:1-8, 10-15
     1.  One day MOSES took-care-of the sheep of his father-in-law named JETHRO, a priest in the country named MIDIAN.  MOSES led the sheep near God's mountain named HOREB.
     2.  Then the Angel of the Lord appeared in a burning bush.  MOSES looked-at the bush, but the bush didn't burn-up and dissolve.
     3.  MOSES went close to see the reason the bush didn't burn and dissolve.
     4.  The God said, "MOSES, MOSES."  And MOSES asked, "Who is it?"
     5.  God said, "Don't come near because you stand on holy ground.  I AM the God of your fathers, the God of ABRAHAM, ISAAC, and JACOB."
     6.  MOSES covered-his-face-with-his-hands because he was-afraid to look-at God.
     7.  Then God said, "I saw the suffering of MY people in EGYPT, and I hear their prayers for freedom from slavery.
     8.  I want to save them from the EGYPTIANS and bring them to a new land filled with milk and HONEY.  In this new land live the CANAANITES, HITTITES, AMORITES, PERIZZITES, HIVITES, and JEBUSITES.
    10.  Now I will send you to the king for demanding that he let MY people out-of EGYPT."
    11.  But MOSES said to God, "I can't do that work."
    12.  Then God said, "I will remain with you, and this will be-proof that I sent you.  After you lead the people out-of EGYPT, you will worship God here on this mountain."
    13.  MOSES answered God, "If I tell the people that the God of your fathers sent me, the people will ask me YOUR name.  What will I tell them?"
    14.  God said, "I AM the Lord.  Tell the people MY name is I AM.  Tell them that I AM sends you.
    15.  Tell the people the God of your fathers, ABRAHAM, ISAAC, and JACOB sends you.  This is MY name always that you will use during all future years."

I CORINTHIANS 10:1-13
     1.  Christian friends, I want you to know that our fathers followed the cloud and all walked through the sea.
     2.  They became baptized both in the sea and in the cloud while following MOSES.
     3.  And by a wonderful work God sent the people food and water in the dry country; they all ate-food that Christ gave them.
     4.  Christ was with them there in the dry country, and they drank the water that Christ gave them.
     5.  Christ was there with them same-as a strong Rock for making new their soul.  But most of them disobeyed God, and HE destroyed them with snakes.
     6.  Now all these things are examples for us.  They warn us not to want evil things.
     7.  They warn us not to copy those Jews that followed MOSES through the dry country.  Don't worship idols.  The Jews worshipped idols and then the Holy Writings says, "The people sat-down to eat and drink and stood-up to dance."
     8.  We must not join in SEXUAL sins.  The Jews joined in SEXUAL sins and 23,000 people died in one day.
     9.  We must not test the Lord.  The Jews tested the Lord and snakes came and killed them.
    10.  You must not complain.  The Jews complained and the Angel of Death destroyed them.
    11.  All these things happened to them for examples to others.  And they were written-down for a warning to us, because we live during a time that the end is almost ready to happen.
    12.  The person thinking that he is standing, better be-careful that he doesn't fall.  Every temptation you have is the same that other people have.
    13.  Notice!  God never breaks HIS promise.  HE gives you power to refuse temptation and HE will not let any temptation come above the limits of your power.  No!  If temptation comes, the same time God gives you strength to patiently push-away that.  Now God gives you the way to escape sin.

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

LUKE 13:1-9
     1.  Jesus learned that PILATE killed some Jews from GALILEE while they burned their animal gifts and worshipped at the temple in the city named JERUSALEM.
     2.  Jesus asked, "Do you think because this happened to them, that those Jews were worse sinners than all the other people in GALILEE?
     3.  No!  You must understand that you will die also if you don't stop your evil ways and begin following God's way.
     4.  Or remember those 18 men that died because the tower at SILOAM fell on them...Do you think they were worse sinners than all other people living in the city named JERUSALEM?
     5.  No!  You must understand that you will die also if you don't change.
     6.  Understand this!  A man planted a FIG tree, and he came again and again expecting to see food, but no food grew.
     7.  Finally, the man told his workers to cut-down the tree, because for three years nothing grew on the tree.  That place can be-used to grow something other.
     8.  But the worker asked the man to please let the tree grow one more year, and he will dig around the tree and feed the tree with much water.
    9.  Then maybe FIGS will grow next year and if not, then the tree can be cut-down."

[C]
FOURTH SUNDAY IN LENT
INTROIT: Be excited and happy with the city JERUSALEM all you people; be excited you people that grieve.  Give praise to the Lord because HE heard my asking for mercy.  Wait for the Lord; stay strong, trust, and wait for HIM.  One thing I ask from the Lord; that I will live all my days in HIS house and watch HIS beautiful face.  The Lord protects and helps me; my heart trusts HIM.  The Lord gives strength to HIS people and protects HIS chosen people.  Save YOUR people and bless them; become their shepherd and take-care-of them forever.

COLLECT: Almighty God, our heavenly Father, YOU show mercy new every morning.  We don't earn YOUR good love, but still YOU give us all we need for our body and soul.  Give us YOUR Holy Spirit that we will accept YOUR good love and give thanks for all YOUR blessings and obediently serve YOU.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

ISAIAH 12:1-6
     1.  On that day you will say, "Praise the Lord!  HE was-angry with me, but now HE comforts me.
     2.  See, God finished come to me.  I shall trust and not be-afraid, because the Lord is my strength, and I sing to HIM.  HE is my Savior.
     3.  I have much happiness drinking from the fountain that saves me."
     4.  On that wonderful day you will say, "Thank the Lord.  Praise HIS name.  Tell the world about HIS wonderful love.  Tell about HIS strength."
     5.  Sing to the Lord, because HE did wonderful things.  Inform HIS praise around the world.
     6.  Let all people in the city named JERUSALEM shout HIS praise with happiness, because great and mighty is the Holy One of ISRAEL that lives among you.

I CORINTHIANS 1:18-31
    18.  The story of the cross is foolish to those that die, but the story is God's power to us that are saved.
    19.  The Holy Writings say, "I will destroy the knowledge of the wise people and defeat the intelligence of the smart people."
    20.  Where is the wise man?  Where is the Bible student?  Where is the debater?  Has God made the wisdom of the world become foolish?  Yes!
    21.  Because the world didn't learn to know God through God's wisdom, but God decided to use our foolish preaching to save those that believe it.
    22.  Now the Jewish people ask for wonderful proofs, and the Greek people search for wisdom.
    23.  We preach a crucified Christ.  The Jews fall-over HIM, and the Greeks think Jesus is foolish.
    24.  But to those people called by God, both Jews and Greeks, Jesus is Christ, God's power and wisdom.
    25.  The foolish thing God does is wiser than men, and the weak thing God does is stronger than men.
    26.  You see what happened, Christian friends.  God called you.
    27.  Not many of you are wise same-as the world judges, not many of you in positions of power, not many of you born from rich parents.
    28.  No!  God chose the foolish things in the world to make the wise men feel ashamed.  God chose the weak things in the world to ,make the strong men feel ashamed.  God chose the humble things in the world, things the world hates, things that are worthless,
    29.  To stop anyone from boasting in-front-of God.
    30.  God gave you your life in Christ Jesus.  God made Jesus wise, righteous, holy, and a payment for our sins.
    31.  Now will happen same-as the Holy Writings say, "If you feel proud, then feel proud about the Lord."

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

LUKE 15:1-3, 11-32
     1.  All the tax collectors and sinners came to Jesus to listen to HIM.
     2.  But the Jewish Law teachers and Church teachers complained and said, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."
     3.  Now Jesus told a story....
    11.  Then Jesus said, "A man had two sons.  The young son said to the father,
    12.  'Father, give-me my share of your things.'  Now the father divided his things between the two boys.
    13.  A few days later the young son sold all his things, leaved from home and went to a far country, and spent all his money on pleasure living.
    14.  Happened he finished spending all his money, a terrible hunger came over that country, and the boy became hungry.
    15.  Now the young boy searched for work with the people of that country, and one man sent him to work feeding the pigs.
    16.  The young boy was-happy to eat the same food with the pigs because no one gave him anything to eat.
    17.  Then he began to think.  Many of the workers on my fathers farm have enough food, and here I am hungry to death.  I will go again to my father and say,
    18.  'Father, I sinned against heaven and against you.
    19.  I don't deserve to be-named your son anymore.  Please make me one of your servants.'
    20.  Now the young boy began leaving for home.  While he was still far from home, his father saw him and the father felt sorry for him.  The father ran and hugged his son and kissed him.
    21.  The son said, 'Father, I sinned against heaven and against you.  I don't deserve to be-named your son anymore.  Please make me one of your servants.'
    22.  The father told the servants, 'Quick, bring a robe, the best robe, and put-it-on the boy, bring a ring for his finger and shoes for his feet.
    23.  And bring the fat calf, kill it, and we will eat and celebrate.
    24.  This son of mine was-dead and is now alive.  My son was-lost and I found him.'  And they began to celebrate.
    25.  Now the older son was out in the field.  Happened he came home near the house, he heard music and dancing.
    26.  The older son called one of the servants and asked, 'What is happening here?'
    27.  The servant said, 'Your brother is home and your father killed the fat calf because your brother is home safe and healthy.'
    28.  Then the older brother was-angry and refused to enter the house.  The father came outside and begged him.
    29.  But the older son answered the father, 'Many years I worked for you same-as a servant and never disobeyed your commands, and you never gave-me a small goat to celebrate with my friends.
    30.  But happens that son of yours came home, he wasted all your things with pleasure living, you killed the fat calf for him.'
    31.  The father said, 'Son, you are always with me and everything I have is yours.
    32.  But we must celebrate and be-happy.  This brother of yours was-dead and is now alive.  Your brother was-lost and we found him.'"

FIFTH SUNDAY IN LENT
INTROIT: O God, judge me and defend me against the unbelieving nations.  Save me from sinful and lying people.  I love the Lord, because HE heard my prayers; HE heard my shouts for mercy.  I will pray to the Lord all my life, because HE attends to me.  Death surrounds me, and the grave grieves me;  I am filled with trouble and sadness.  Then I prayed to the Lord, "O Lord, save me!"  Because YOU, Lord, saved my soul from death, YOU wiped-away my tears, and YOU protected my feet from stumbling.

COLLECT: Almighty and eternal God, help us remember and give thanks to YOU for Jesus' suffering on the cross that we are forgiven of our sins, and that YOU took-away the devil's power that we can be saved from eternal death.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

ISAIAH 43:16-21
    16.  Remember!  Long ago the Lord made a way through the sea; HE made a way through the swirling-waters to save HIS people, ISRAEL.
    17.  HE led the mighty EGYPTIAN soldiers to destruction.  Those CHARIOTS and horses fell-down and couldn't stand-up.  The water covered them.  They died quickly, same-as blowing-out a candle.
    18.  Don't remember past things.  Don't think about those things.
    19.  See, I am doing a new thing.  Now things begin to happen.  I will make a road through the dry places and I will make rivers flowing through those places.
    20.  The animals in the fields will thank ME, yes, JACKALS and OSTRICHES, because I give them water in the dry places, and water-springs for MY people to drink.
    21.  The people I made for MYSELF will sing praise to ME.

PHILIPPIANS 3:8-14
     8.  Yes, I think all things worthless, because it is much better to know Christ Jesus, my Lord.
     9.  For Jesus I lost everything and think everything else worthless so that I can get Christ and find my life with HIM, not having my own righteous life judged by the law, but the righteous life that comes from God through faith that God gives to those believing in Christ.
    10.  I want to know Jesus and the power of HIS arising, to share in HIS suffering and to become same-as Jesus in death,
    11.  If in some way I will become one of those that arise from the dead.
    12.  I don't mean that I already arrived in heaven, or that I am at the end of my life, but I eagerly look for that to make that mine because Christ Jesus made me one of HIS followers.
    13.  Christian friends, I don't think that I succeeded in my faith.  But one thing I do is to forget the things in the past.
    14.  I look to the future and keep my eyes on the heavenly gift that God gave to us in Christ Jesus.

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

LUKE 20:9-19
     9.  Then Jesus told the people this story, "A man planted a grape farm, and let the workers take-care-of it, and leaving the man went on a long trip.
    10.  At the correct time the man sent a servant to the workers to get his share of the food that grew.  But the workers beat-up the servant and sent the servant away with nothing.
    11.  The man sent another servant; the workers beat-up the second servant and did shameful things to the servant and sent the servant away with nothing.
    12.  The man sent a third servant, and the workers beat-up the third servant and threw the servant out.
    13.  Then the man said, 'What must I do?  I will send my dear son.  Maybe the workers will respect my son.'
    14.  Happened the workers saw the son, they discussed with one-another and said, 'This is the son.  Let us kill the son and the land will become ours.'
    15.  So the workers threw the son out and killed him.
    16.  Now what will the man do to those workers?  He will come and kill those workers and give the land to others."  Those that heard Jesus' story said, "That must never happen."
    17.  Jesus looked-at them and asked, "What do the words in the Holy Writings mean?  'The stone that the builders refused to use now becomes the chief corner stone?'
    18.  Everyone that falls-over that stone will be-broken in parts, and if that stone falls on anyone, it will crush him same-as dust."
    19.  The Law teachers and the reigning priests wanted to grab Jesus now, because they knew Jesus told that story about them, but they were-afraid of the people.

COLLECT: Almighty and eternal God the Father, YOU sent YOUR Son same-as a man to suffer death on the cross that all people will follow HIS example of humility, we ask YOU to help us follow Jesus' example of patience, then we can join in HIS arising.  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord.  Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God.  Amen.

DEUTERONOMY 32:36-39
    36.  The Lord will judge HIS people correctly, and HE will show mercy happens they fall, and their strength dissolves, both slave and free people.
    37.  Then God will ask, "Where are your gods...those rocks that saved you?
    38.  Where are these gods now that you gave gifts of meat and wine?  Let those gods stand-up and help them.
    39.  See that I am God alone.  I kill and I make alive.  I hurt and I heal.  No person escapes from MY power."

PHILIPPIANS 2:5-11
     5.  Now think in your minds same-as Christ Jesus.
     6.  Now Jesus is the Person of God HIMSELF and equal with God; but Jesus didn't rest with that honor.
     7.  Jesus hid HIS glory and Jesus came in the body of a servant;  and Jesus was-born same-as true Man.
     8.  Through obedience Christ humbled HIMSELF until death, and that death on the cross.
     9.  Now God gave Jesus much honor and put Jesus' name over all other names.
    10.  And in-front-of Jesus everyone must bow, all in heaven and on earth and in hell.
    11.  And every mouth will confess that Jesus is Lord.  This honors God the Father.

GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith.  HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God.

LUKE 23:1-49
     1.  Then all the people stood-up and led Jesus to PILATE.
     2.  The people blamed Jesus and told PILATE, "We heard this Man confusing the people.  HE told them don't pay taxes to king CAESAR, and HE names HIMSELF the Christ, a king."
     3.  PILATE asked Jesus, "Are you king of the Jews?"  Jesus answered, "Yes, that is correct."
     4.  PILATE told the priests and the people, "I find nothing wrong with this Man."
     5.  The people said again and again, "But Jesus makes trouble with the people!  HE teaches all over the country, beginning in GALILEE, and now HE is here!"
     6.  PILATE heard that and asked if Jesus came from GALILEE.
     7.  PILATE found that Jesus was under the reign of king HEROD and king HEROD was-visiting JERUSALEM now, so PILATE sent Jesus to king HEROD.
     8.  Happened that HEROD saw Jesus, he was very happy, because he heard many stories about Jesus and wanted to see Jesus do a wonderful work.
     9.  HEROD asked Jesus many questions, but Jesus answered nothing.
    10.  The reigning priests and Law teachers stood there and shouted against Jesus.
    11.  Then HEROD and his soldiers laughed at Jesus, and they made fun by dressing Jesus in clothes same-as a king.  Then HEROD sent Jesus again to PILATE.
    12.  In the past, PILATE and HEROD always were-enemies, but now they became friends.
    13.  PILATE called all the people together with the reigning priests and Law teachers.
    14.  PILATE told them, "You brought Jesus to me.  You said JESUS made trouble among the people.  But I judged and found nothing wrong.  Jesus is not to blame for all the things you said.
    15.  Also, king HEROD found nothing wrong with HIM, and he sent Jesus again to me.  See, Jesus did nothing wrong.  HE must not be-killed.
    16.  I will punish HIM, and then I will free HIM."
    17.  Every year at the time of the year named PASSOVER, PILATE freed one man from jail.
    18.  But all the people shouted, "Kill HIM!  Let BARABBAS free."
    19.  BARABBAS was in jail because he started a big fight and killed some people.
    20.  PILATE wanted to let Jesus free.  Again PILATE told them that Jesus will go free.
    21.  But the people shouted again, "Kill HIM!  Kill HIM on the cross!"
    22.  A third time PILATE said to the people, "Why?  What wrong DID Jesus do?  HE is not to blame.  I find no reason to kill HIM.  I will punish Jesus and then free HIM."
    23.  But the people continued shouting.  They demanded that Jesus be-killed on the cross.
    24.  Their shouting became so loud that PILATE decided to give them BARABBAS, that killer.
    25.  PILATE let BARABBAS free and let the people take Jesus to be-killed, because they wanted that way.
    26.  The soldiers led Jesus to the place for the killing.  That same time a man named SIMON from the city named CYRENE came into town, and the soldiers forced SIMON to carry the cross for Jesus.
    27.  Many people followed them, and some of the women were-sad and crying.  They felt sad for Jesus.
    28.  But Jesus said to the women, "Women from JERUSALEM, don't cry for me.  Cry for yourselves and for your children!
    29.  The time will happen that people say, 'Happy are women without babies!  Happy are women with no children.
    30.  Then the people will say to the mountains, 'Fall on us!' And the people will say to the hills, 'Cover us!'
    31.  If people do these things and life is good, what will happen if life is bad?"
    32.  Two other robbers also walked with Jesus to the place for killing.
    33.  The soldiers led them to the place named "The Skull."  Then the soldiers nailed Jesus and the two robbers to the cross.  One robber was-crucified on the right, and one crucified on the left, with Jesus in the center.
    34.  Jesus said, "Father, forgive these people because they don't-know what they are-doing."  The soldiers threw-dice to decide on Jesus' clothes.
    35.  The people stood and watched Jesus.  The Jewish church leaders laughed and said, "If HE is God's Chosen Son, the Christ, then let HIM save HIMSELF.  HE saved other people, correct?"
    36.  Also the soldiers laughed and teased Jesus.  They offered some wine to Jesus.
    37.  The soldiers said, "If YOU are the king of the Jews, save YOURSELF!"
    38.  Above Jesus' head the soldiers wrote the words: This is the King of the Jews.
    39.  One robber began to shout bad words at Jesus and said, "If YOU are the Christ, then save yourself and save us too!"
    40.  But the other robber said, "You must fear God!  All of us will die shortly!
    41.  You and I are wrong; we deserve to be-killed because we did wrong.  But Jesus did nothing wrong!"
    42.  Then the robber said to Jesus, "Jesus, remember me in YOUR kingdom!"
    43.  Then Jesus said to him, "Honestly I tell you, today you will be with me in heaven!"
    44.  The time was now 12 noon and darkness covered the earth until time three in the afternoon.
    45.  The sun stopped shining!  The curtain in the temple tore-in-half.
    46.  Jesus shouted, "Father, I give YOU my spirit."  Then Jesus died.
    47.  The Roman soldier saw all the happenings, then he praised God and said, "Truly this Man was innocent!"
    48.  Many people came to see the crucifixion, but after these things happened they felt sad and began leaving for home.
    49.  Jesus' close friends and some of the women from GALILEE stood and watched the cross.

HOLY THURSDAY
INTROIT: I will take the cup of salvation and pray in the name of the Lord. What will I give to the Lord for all HIS gifts to me?  I will take the cup of salvation and pray in the name of the Lord.  Important in the eyes of the Lord is the death of HIS dear people.  O Lord, I am truly YOUR servant; the son of YOUR servant girl;  YOU freed me from my slavery.  I will give a thank-offering to YOU and pray in the name of the Lord.

COLLECT: Lord Jesus, YOU asked us to remember YOUR suffering and death every time we worship with this Lord's Supper.  Let this gift of body and blood work in our hearts and lives so that we will announce the things YOU finished done.  We ask this knowing YOU live and reign with the Father and the Spirit eternally one God.  Amen.

JEREMIAH 31:31-34
    31.  The days are coming happen I will make a new agreement with the people of ISRAEL and JUDAH.
    32.  The new agreement will not be-the -same-as the old agreement I made in the past with their fathers, happen I took their hand to lead them out-of EGYPT.  They broke that old agreement, so I showed them that I am Lord.
    33.  The Lord speaks, "No, this is the new agreement I will make with them happens those days come."  The Lord speaks, "I will put MY Law deep inside them and I will write MY Law in their hearts.  Then I will remain their God and they will be MY people.
    34.  They will no more need anyone to teach his neighbor or brother saying, "Learn to know the Lord!'  No, they will all know ME, both small and great."  The Lord speaks, :And I will forgive them and not remember their sin."

HEBREWS 10:15-39
    15.  The Holy Spirit teaches us truly and says,
    16.  "This is the agreement I will make with MY people, says the Lord.  I will put MY Laws in their hearts and write it in their minds.
    17.  I will not remember their sins and wrongs anymore."
    18.  Now if sins are forgiven, then there is no more need to offer gifts for sins.
    19.  Christian friends, now we can enter the most holy place because of the blood of Jesus.
    20.  This is the new living way that Jesus opened for us; the curtain to let us enter and see God through Jesus' holy body.
    21.  Jesus is our High Priest reigning over the people of God.
    22.  Let us come near God with honest hearts and a true faith because our hearts are free of a guilty conscience by the blood of Jesus and our bodies are washed clean with pure water.
    23.  Now our faith can trust surely in God's promise without doubting.
    24.  Because of everything God did for us, let us encourage one-another in loving and doing good.
    25.  Some people refuse to come to worship.  Don't you do that, but instead encourage one-another because you see the day of Jesus coming near.
    26.  If anyone decides to continue sinning after learning about forgiveness, then there is no offering for sins,
    27.  But the waiting for the terrible judgment of God's anger and the destruction of HIS enemies.
    28.  Anyone that refused to obey the Laws of MOSES was-killed without mercy if two or three people witnessed the sin.
    29.  The punishment will be-worse for the person that refuses to accept the Son of God and doesn't respect the holy blood of the agreement that saved him and hated the love shown by God.
    30.  Because we know God said, "I have the alright to punish.  I will punish for sins.  The Lord will judge HIS people."
    31.  It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
    32.  Remember those wonderful days you first learned about Jesus and patiently suffered!
    33.  Sometimes people mocked you and beat-up you, and sometimes that happened to your friends.
    34.  You showed sympathy for me while I was in jail, and you accepted with happiness while your things were-stolen, because you knew that in heaven you had much more beautiful things that can't be-stolen.
    35.  Don't become disappointed.  Remember heaven!
    36.  Remain patient doing God's wish, and God will give all HE promises.
    37.  In a very short time HE will come and quickly.
    38.  Now those people God judges righteous will live by their faith.  But if a person doubts God's promise, then I will not be-happy with him.
    39.  But we never doubted God's promise, but we believed and are-saved.

GRADUAL: Christ entered the Most Holy Place once for all by HIS OWN blood, freeing us forever.  Christ brings a new agreement from God to HIS people that they can have the things God promised.  God gives salvation to HIS people;  HE established HIS agreement forever.

LUKE 22:7-20
     7.  Then the day arrived for the celebration of bread without YEAST, happens the priests kill the PASSOVER lambs.
     8.  Jesus sent PETER and JOHN and said, "Go, prepare the PASSOVER food for us to eat."
     9.  They asked Jesus, "Where do you want us to prepare that?"
    10.  Jesus told them, "Go into the city and you will meet a man carrying a JAR of water.
    11.  Follow him into the house and tell the OWNER of that house, 'The Teacher asks where is the room that I can eat the PASSOVER with MY friends?'
    12.  He will show you a large room upstairs with everything you need.  Prepare the food there."
    13.  They went and found everything same-as Jesus told them, and they prepared the PASSOVER meal.
    14.  Happened the time arrived and Jesus sat around table with HIS friends.
    15.  Then Jesus said, "I wanted very much to eat this PASSOVER with you before I suffer.
    16.  I tell you, I will not eat it again until it happens true in the Kingdom of God."
    17.  Then Jesus took the cup, gave-thanks to God, and said, "Take this and share it.
    18.  I tell you, from now-on I will not drink wine until the Kingdom of God comes."
    19.  Then Jesus took the bread, gave-thanks, broke-it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is MY body, I give for you.  Do this to remember ME."
    20.  In-the-same-way after supper Jesus took the cup and said, "This cup is the new promise in MY blood, poured-out for you."

GOOD FRIDAY
INTROIT: O Lord, don't stay far-away; O my strength, hurry and help me.  My God, my God, why YOU forget me?  Why are-YOU not helping me and not listening to my prayers?  In YOU our fathers trusted; they trusted and YOU saved them. But I am same-as a worm and not a man;  people are-ashamed of me and hate me.  But YOU led me since my birth; YOU taught me to trust since my mother fed me from her breast.  YOU took-care of me from the day of my birth until now; YOU are my God since my birth.  Don't stay far-away, because trouble is near, and none other can help.

COLLECT: Almighty God, in mercy look-down upon YOUR family; YOUR Son, Jesus, accepted betrayal and let HIMSELF get-arrested and suffered death on the cross for us.  Jesus now lives and reigns with YOU Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.

ISAIAH 52:13 - 53:12
    13.  See!  MY Servant will succeed.  HE will arise, be-praised, and given high honor.
    14.  Many people were-surprised seeing HIM, because HIS face was more ugly than any other man, HIS body more ugly than any man.
    15.  HE will cleanse many nations.  Kings will be-open-mouthed in-front-of HIM, because they will see things they never before saw, and they will hear things they never before thought about.
53:1.  Lord, who believes the things we hear?  And who sees the arm of the Lord?
     2.  We announced in-front-of HIM that HE is same-as a young child and a ROOT in dry ground.  HIS face is nothing, and HE shows no glory.  Now we didn't look-at HIM, and HIS face had no beauty.
     3.  And HIS face was without honor in-front-of all people.  HE was a man with STRIPES of punishment, and HE knew sadness.  Because no one saw HIS face, people hated HIM and gave HIM no praise.
     4.  This man accepted our sins and our sadness.  And we thought HE HIMSELF was in trouble and punishment and suffering.
     5.  Our law breaking gave HIM much suffering, and our sins made HIM suffer pain.  The punishment for our peace was on HIM, and with HIS STRIPES of punishment we get healed.
     6.  All we finished strayed same-as sheep.  Each person strayed in his-own way.  And the Lord put our sin on HIM.
     7.  And in HIS bad suffering HE didn't shout.  Same-as people lead a sheep to their death offering, and same-as a lamb is silent in-front-of the SHEARER; also HE didn't shout.
     8.  They took-away HIS judgment with shame.  And who among HIS people announce that they take HIM from the world of living people?  HE went to HIS death for the sins of my people.
     9.  People gave HIM a grave with sinners and a grave with a rich man in HIS death.  No-matter HE didn't break laws, and no lies HE spoke.
    10.  But the Lord wanted to punish HIM with STRIPES.  You gave HIM to take-away sin.  HIS soul will see HIS children, and HE will make HIS life long.  And the Lord wants to take-away some suffering from HIS soul.
    11.  Show HIM light and lead HIM with understanding.  MY righteous Servant will decide many people righteous, because HE will burden their sins.
    12.  Now I will give HIM many people for a gift, and HE will share the riches with the strong people. Because HE poured-out HIS soul to death, people named HIM a law breaker.  And HE burdened the sins of many people and prayed for sinners.

HEBREWS 4:14-16; 5:7-9
    14.  Because we have a great Chief Priest in heaven, Jesus, God's Son, let us  hold to our faith.
    15.  We have a Chief Priest that can sympathize with our weaknesses.  HE got tempted in every way the-same-as us, but HE didn't sin.
    16.  Let us boldly go to God's throne of love to get mercy and find love to help us happen we need it.
5:7.  During HIS life here on earth Jesus prayed and begged with much crying to God the Savior from death.  Because HE honored God, then God heard HIS prayer.
     8.  No-matter Jesus is the Son, HE learned from HIS suffering about obedience.
     9.  Because HE was perfect, Jesus became the giver of eternal salvation to all obeying HIM.

GRADUAL: Christ enetered the Most Holy Place once for all by HIS OWN blood, freeing us forever.  Christ brings a new agreement from God to HIS people that they can have the things God promised.  God gives salvation to HIS people;  HE established HIS agreement forever.

JOHN 19:17-30
    17.  Jesus carried HIS cross to the place named SKULL; the Jews named that place GOLGOTHA.
    18.  Jesus got crucified with two other men, Jesus in the middle.
    19.  PILATE out the wooden-sign on the cross - JESUS FROM NAZARETH, KING OF THE JEWS.
    20.  Many Jews read the words because that place was near the city, and the words were-written in Jewish, Latin and Greek.
    21.  The chief priests told PILATE to change the words.  Not "KING OF THE JEWS" but "HE SAID I AM KING OF THE JEWS."
    22.  Pilate said, "I wrote that finished!"
    23.  The soldiers crucifying Jesus divided HIS clothes, some for each soldier, except Jesus' coat; that was-sewn-from-top-to-bottom all one coat.
    24.  The soldiers said, "Let's not rip the coat but throw-dice to see the winner."  The Holy Writings said about this, "They divided MY clothes and for MY coat threw-dice."  The soldiers did that.
    25.  Now Jesus' mother and HIS aunt MARY, the wife of CLEOPAS, and MARY from the city MAGDALA stood near the cross.
    26.  Jesus saw HIS mother and HIS dear friend standing near the cross.  Jesus said to HIS mother, "Woman, there is your son!"  Then HE said to JOHN, "There is your mother!"
    27.  From that day forward JOHN took-care-of MARY in his home.
    28.  Then Jesus knew that everything was-finished, and that the Holy Writings would truly happen Jesus said, "I thirst."
    29.  Near the cross was a jar of sour wine.  A soldier put a sponge filled with wine on a stick and held that near HIS mouth.
    30.  Happened Jesus tasted the wine, Jesus said, "IT IS FINISHED!"  Then HIS head bowed-down and HIS breathing-stopped.
