[C] THE FIRST SUNDAY IN ADVENT INTROIT: See, your righteous King comes bringing salvation. O Lord, I give my soul to YOU. Don't let me suffer shame. Don't let my enemies defeat me. My hope is with YOU, and I will never suffer shame. My enemies will suffer shame. COLLECT: Show YOUR power, O Lord, and come. Protect us and save us from the danger of our sins. We pray to YOU, O Christ, with the Father and Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen. JEREMIAH 33:14-16 14. The Lord says, "The day will happen that I will do the good thing I promised to ISRAEL and JUDAH. 15. At that time I shall choose for King a Righteous Son from DAVID'S family. That King will reign correctly and honestly. 16. The people living in the country JUDAH will be saved, and the city named JERUSALEM will have peace. That King will be named 'Our Righteous Lord.'" I THESSALONIANS 3:9-13 9. Now we can thank God for you. We thank God for the happiness you give to us. 10. Day and night we ask God with all our heart to let us see you face-to-face, and to give you support for your faith. 11. May our God and Father HIMSELF and our Lord Jesus lead us to you. 12. The Lord make you grow in love, and may your love overflow for one another and for all people, the same-as we love you. 13. God will make your faith strong so that you will be holy and without blame standing before our God and Father on the day our Lord Jesus comes with all the holy angels. GRADUAL: Rejoice, O children of God! Sing praise, children of heaven! See, your righteous King comes bringing salvation. Praise Christ. Jesus comes in the name of the Lord. In YOUR house, O Lord, we praise YOU. LUKE 21:25-36 25. And warnings will appear in the sun and moon and stars. And nations will not trust one-another. People will fear because of the noise of the tossing-motion of the sea. 26. Then people will faint with fear. People will worry about the future things in the world, because God will shake the sky and the earth. 27. Then people will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with power and much glory. 28. Happen all these things begin, you look-up and show courage; because your Savior approaches. 29. And Jesus told the disciples a comparison story: "Remember the FIG tree and all the other trees. 30. Happen you see the leaves begin growing, you know summer is now near. 31. In the same way happen you see these things, you know the kingdom of God is near. 32. Remember this! These people will not dissolve until all these things happen. 33. The sky and the earth will dissolve, but MY words will not dissolve. 34. Now watch yourselves! Don't let yourselves think only about pleasure times and strong drinks and the worries of this life. Or that day will happen quickly and surprise you. 35. Because that day will happen quickly and catch all people living on the earth. 36. But you must watch, and pray always for strength to help you escape all these future things. Pray for strength to stand with confidence in-front-of the Son of Man." [C] THE SECOND SUNDAY IN ADVENT INTROIT: Make us new people, O God; make YOUR face smile on us, then we can be saved. Listen to us, O Great Shepherd, YOU lead YOUR people same-as sheep; YOU sit amongst the angels. YOU lead YOUR people out-of EGYPT and YOUR people filled the land. Make us new people, O Almighty God; make YOUR face smile on us, then we can be saved. COLLECT: O Lord, come and help us prepare our hearts for YOUR only Son. And because Jesus comes, we can serve YOU with pure minds. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. MALACHI 3:1-4 1. The Lord of heaven says, "I will send MY announcer to prepare the way for ME. While you are waiting for the Lord, quickly HE will come to HIS temple. The announcer of the promise will come, and you will be happy to see HIM." 2. Happens the Lord comes, can anyone accept that? Happen the Lord shows HIMSELF, can anyone stand in-front-of HIM? HE is the same-as a fire that melts and separates the good from the bad; or the same-as SOAP that washes-away dirt. 3. And HE will sit the same-as a man makes SILVER pure. And HE will make pure the children of LEVI the same-as GOLD and SILVER. Then they will bring correct offerings to the Lord. 4. Then Judah's offering and the city JERUSALEM'S offering will please the Lord the same-as years ago. PHILIPPIANS 1:3-11 3. Every time I remember you, I thank my God. 4. Every time I pray for you, I thank HIM with happiness. 5. From the first day until today, I pray with happiness that you helped me to tell the Good Story. 6. I know God began a good work in you, and HE will finish HIS work on the day that Christ Jesus comes. 7. I am happy about you all, and that is good. You all share the honor God gives-me both now while I am in prison and in the past while I defended and announced the Good Story. 8. God knows I tell the truth, because my deep feeling for you comes from the heart of Christ Jesus HIMSELF. 9. I pray that your love will continue growing more and more together-with true knowledge and all understanding. 10. Then you can choose the best things, and you will remain pure and without blame until the day Christ comes. 11. Then your lives will be filled with good examples of the correct way. Only Jesus can help you live to give glory and praise to God. GRADUAL: Rejoice, O children of God! Sing praise, children of heaven! See, your righteous King comes bringing salvation. Praise Christ. Jesus comes in the name of the Lord. In YOUR house, O Lord, we praise YOU. LUKE 3:1-6 1. During the year the king TIBERIAS reigned fifteen years, PONTIUS PILATE was governor of the country JUDEA, and HEROD reigned over the country GALILEE, and HEROD'S brother named PHILIP reigned over the countries ITUREA and TRACHONITIS, and LYSANIUS reigned over the country ABILENE. All this happened while ANNAS and CAIAPHAS were chief priests in the Jewish temple. 2. Then God spoke to JOHN, the son of ZACHARIAS, out in the dry country. 3. JOHN went and preached to all the area near the river named JORDAN. "Change from your sins and get baptized, and God will forgive your sins." 4. The prophet ISAIAH wrote about JOHN, "Someone is shouting in the dry country: 'Prepare the way for the Lord. Make the way straight for the Lord. 5. All the valleys must be filled with dirt, and all the hills cut-down. The curvy roads must be made straight, and the rough roads become smooth. 6. All people must see that God saves them.'" [C] THIRD SUNDAY OF ADVENT INTROIT: Show us YOUR mercy, O Lord, and give us YOUR salvation. I will hear God the Lord speak, because HE will speak peace to HIS people and to HIS dear children; but HIS people must not change again to foolish living. Truly HIS salvation is near to those people honoring HIM, then glory will stay in our nation. Also the Lord will give good, and our ground will grow much food. Righteousness surrounds our God and prepares a road for HIS walking. COLLECT: Almighty God, through John the BAPTIZER YOU announced salvation; now help us to know about this salvation and serve YOU with a holy and righteous life all the days of our life. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ZEPHANIAH 3:14-18 14. Sing happily women of the church; shout men of God. Be happy and rejoice with all your heart, you women of the city JERUSALEM. 15. The Lord will cancel your punishment. HE will chase-away your enemies. The Lord is King over ISRAEL, and HE lives with you. Then you will not fear any bad happenings. 16. On that day the city JERUSALEM will hear, "Don't fear, city of God. Don't give-up people of God. 17. The Lord, your God, lives with you. HE has power to help you. HE will feel happy with you. HE will make you new with HIS love. HE will sing and feel happiness about you the same-as people celebrating. 18. I will gather the people that in the past leave and are-now crying." PHILIPPIANS 4:4-7 4. Be-happy in the Lord always. Again I urge you, happiness. 5. Let all people know you are kind. The Lord is near. 6. Don't worry about anything, but thank God for everything. And inform God about your needs. 7. The peace of God is more than all understanding. That peace will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. GRADUAL: Rejoice, O children of God! Sing praise, children of heaven! See, your righteous King comes bringing salvation. Praise Christ. Jesus comes in the name of the Lord. In YOUR house, O Lord, we praise YOU. LUKE 3:7-18 7. Many people came to JOHN for baptism. JOHN said to them, "You people are the same-as snakes. Do you think that you can escape from the anger of God in the future? 8. Live and show you really changed from your sins. And don't begin thinking that ABRAHAM is our father. I tell you that God is powerful enough to grow ABRAHAM'S children from these rocks. 9. God's axe is ready to cut-down trees. Every tree not growing good fruit will be cut-down and thrown in the fire." 10. The people asked JOHN, "Then, what can we do?" 11. JOHN answered, "If anyone has two coats, give one coat to the man without a coat, and if anyone has food, then share your food." 12. Some tax collectors came for baptism and asked, "Teacher, what can we do?" 13. JOHN told them, "Be honest; collect only as the law permits." 14. Some soldiers asked JOHN, "What can we do?" JOHN answered, "Don't force or accept bribes to get money from people, but be satisfied with your pay." 15. The people began to hope for something wonderful and began to wonder if JOHN maybe is the Promised Savior. 16. JOHN told the people, "I baptize you with water. But the Promised Savior is much greater than me. I am not important enough to untie the Savior's shoes. The Savior will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 17. The Savior has the farmer's shovel to separate the good GRAIN and the bad parts. The good GRAIN will be put in the farmer's BARNS, but the bad parts will be thrown in the fire that burns forever." 18. And in many other different ways JOHN preached the Good Story to the people. [C] THE FOURTH SUNDAY IN ADVENT INTROIT: O skies, send joy from above. Let the clouds rain with righteous blessings. Let the earth grow with mercy. The skies show God's glory, and the earth shows the work of HIS hands. COLLECT: O Lord, show YOUR power and come. Help us with YOUR wonderful strength and grace. Then our sins will not bother our service to YOU, but we will obey YOUR wishes through YOUR mercy and power. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. MICAH 5:2-4 2. The Lord says, "BETHLEHEM EPHRATHA, that is one of the smallest towns in the country JUDAH, but from that town will come a king for ISRAEL. HIS family goes-back to past ages. 3. And the Lord will give HIS people to their enemies until one mother gives-birth to her Son. 4. Then HIS other brothers living far-away will come home to ISRAEL. HE will reign over HIS people with the power from the Lord and with the glory of the Lord God HIMSELF. HIS people will live in peace, because people all-over the earth will know HIS great power." HEBREWS 10:5-10 5. Then, happens Christ came into the world, Jesus said to God, "YOU don't-want gifts and offerings, but YOU prepared a body for ME. 6. YOU are not pleased with animal gifts burned on the altar, or other gifts to take-away sins." 7. Then Jesus said, "Here I am. I will do YOUR wish, O God. I will do the same-as written in the Holy Book." 8. Notice: first Jesus says, "YOU don't-want gifts, offerings, or burned animals on the altar, or anything to take-away sins." Those things agree with the Holy Book Law, even-though you dont-like them. 9. Then Jesus said, "Here I am. I will do YOUR wish, O God." So God takes-away all the old gift offerings, and instead accepts the offering of Jesus' body. 10. Christ Jesus obeyed God's wish. Jesus offered HIS body once on the cross for all people. Through that gift we are all forgiven for our sins. GRADUAL: Rejoice, O children of God! Sing praise, children of heaven! See, your righteous King comes bringing salvation. Praise Christ. Jesus comes in the name of the Lord. In YOUR house, O Lord, we praise YOU. LUKE 1:39-45 39. Then MARY leaved from home and travelled quickly to a town in the hills of JUDAH. 40. MARY went to the home of ZACHARIAS and met her cousin ELIZABETH. 41. Happened ELIZABETH heard MARY'S voice, then the baby in ELIZABETH'S body jumped. The Holy Spirit came into ELIZABETH. 42. And ELIZABETH said, "You are the most blessed of all women, and the baby inside you is blessed. 43. Why is this wonderful thing happening to me? I feel honored that the mother of my Lord visits me. 44. Happened I heard your voice, the baby inside me jumped with happiness. 45. And you are blessed because you believe that the Lord's promise will happen true." [C] THE BIRTH OF OUR LORD-CHRISTMAS INTROIT: The Lord reigns. HE is dressed beautifully. HE is strong. The Lord reigns. All the earth rejoice; oceans rejoice; clouds surround HIM; HE judges with righteousness and honesty. The skies announce HIS righteousness, and all people see HIS glory. COLLECT: O God, YOU make us happy every-year on the birthday of YOUR Son, Jesus Christ. Help us to happily welcome Jesus our Savior now, and with bravery trust HIM on the Judgment Day. . We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ISAIAH 52:7-10 7. Truly beautiful are the feet of the announcers walking on the mountains telling about peace, salvation, and that God is King. 8. Listen to the watchers sing with joy because they see the Lord leading HIS people home again. 9. Let the destroyed city JERUSALEM begin a happy song, because the Lord comforts and saves HIS people. 10. The Lord showed HIS strength to all the nations of the earth, and they will see our Savior God. HEBREWS 1:1-9 1. Long-ago God spoke many times in different ways to our fathers through prophets. 2. Now God speaks to us through HIS Son. Jesus made the world, and God gave everything to Jesus. 3. The Son shows God's glory. The Son is God, and with the power of HIS Word the Son reigns all the world. The Son died for our sins and now reigns with God the Father in heaven. 4. The Son is greater than all the angels, because HIS name is greater than their name. 5. God never said to any angel, "You are MY Son. Today I give you the honor of MY name. I will be your Father and you will be MY Son." 6. But happened God's Son came into the world, then God said, "Let all the angels of God worship Jesus." 7. God speaks about the angels same-as spirits and servants and fire. 8. But to the Son God says, "O God, YOUR Kingdom remains forever. And YOU reign honestly and correctly. 9. YOU love correct and hate wrong. That is reason God chose YOU and gave YOU the joy of an honor above all others." GRADUAL: For us a baby is born, a Son given to us, and HE will reign. And HIS names will be Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Peace Prince. Sing to the Lord a new song, because HE does wonderful things. JOHN 1:1-14 1. The Word (Christ) was in the beginning. The Word was with God. The Word was truly God. 2. Christ was with God in the beginning. 3. Christ made all things. Everything that was made, that was made by Christ. 4. Life began by Christ. HIS life was the Light for all people. 5. The Light shines in the darkness. And the darkness can't put-out the Light. 6. God sent a man by the name JOHN. 7. And JOHN came to tell the truth about the Savior to help everyone believe. 8. JOHN was not the Savior, but JOHN came to tell the truth about the Savior. 9. The true Savior coming into the world will give light to everyone. 10. The Savior came into the world. The Savior made the world, but the people in the world didn't-know the Savior. 11. The Savior came to HIS home nation, and HIS home people didn't accept HIM. 12. To all those people accepting the Savior and believing in HIM, they became the children of God. 13. The children of God are not born from parents or born from sexual hunger or born because a man wanted that child. No, these children of God are born because God wanted them. 14. Christ became a man and lived among us. We saw HIS shining greatness. This greatness is given only to a much loved Son from the Father, full of love and truth. [C] FIRST SUNDAY AFTER CHRISTMAS INTROIT: For us a child is born, for us a Son is given. And HE will be named Wonderful Advisor, Mighty God. Sing to the Lord a new song, because HE does wonderful things; HIS right hand and HIS holy arm is victorious. HE remembered HIS love and HIS faithfulness to the people of ISRAEL; everything on earth sees the salvation of our God. Shout with happiness to the Lord, all the earth, shout with happiness to the Lord, our King. COLLECT: Lead us, O Lord, in all our doings with YOUR glorious love and continually help us with all the works that we begin, continue, and finish in YOUR name, that we will give glory to YOUR holy name and then by YOUR mercy receive eternal life. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. JEREMIAH 31:10-13 10. Hear the Word of the Lord, O nations, and announce that Word in every place. Say: "God scattered the people of ISRAEL, now HE will gather them again. Yes, HE will keep them as a Shepherd keeps his sheep." 11. Because the Lord finished paid for HIS people, Yes, HE finished bought them because they could not escape for themselves. 12. They will come and sing aloud in the high places of Mt. Zion, and they will be happy because the Lord is good. Yes, the Lord gives them food and wine and oil and blesses the sheep with baby lambs. Their life will continue same-as a growing place with enough water, and they will not die any more. 13. Then the young girls will be happy with dancing, and the young boys and the old men will be happy. I will change their sadness to happiness. I will comfort them and give them happiness instead of sorrow. HEBREWS 2:10-18 10. God makes and takes-care of all things. Now it was correct for HIM to make Jesus perfect through suffering. Then HE can share HIS glory with many children, because Jesus is the one that leads them to salvation. 11. HE makes them clean from their sins and both Jesus and the people have the same Father. That is the reason Jesus is not ashamed to name them HIS brothers and sisters. 12. As HE says, "I will speak about YOU, O God, to my brothers; I will sing to YOU in-front-of all the people." 13. Or again HE says, "I will put my trust in God." And again HE says, "Here I am and here are the children God gave to ME." 14. Jesus names them children -- those people with bodies. Now, Jesus HIMSELF became same-as them and shared their life. 15. Jesus did that because HE wanted to die same-as us. Then HE could destroy the Devil, because the Devil has the power over death. Then Jesus can make free the people that are life long slaves under the fear of death. 16. It is clear Jesus didn't come to help the angels. No, HE came to help the children of ABRAHAM. 17. Now Jesus must become same-as HIS brothers in every way. Jesus must also become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God. Then the sins of the people will be forgiven. 18. Now Jesus can help all those tempted, because HE HIMSELF got tempted and suffered. GRADUAL: For us a child is born, for us a Son is given, and HE will reign over all. And HE will be named Wonderful Advisor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Sing to the Lord a new song, because HE does wonderful things. LUKE 2:41-52 41. Every year Jesus' parents went to the city JERUSALEM for the PASSOVER worship. 42. Happened Jesus was twelve years-old, they went to the worship same-as in the past. 43. Happened the worship ended, the parents leaved for home, but the boy Jesus stayed in JERUSALEM, and the parents didn't-know that. 44. JOSEPH and MARY traveled all day. They thought Jesus was with the group on the road. They began searching for Jesus among their family and friends. 45. But they didn't find Jesus in the group. So they went again to JERUSALEM to search for HIM. 46. For three days they searched and found Jesus in the temple with the religious teachers, listening and questioning them. 47. All those listening were surprised with HIS understanding and wise answers. 48. Happened Jesus' parents saw HIM, they were surprised. MARY said, "Son, why did you do this? Your father and I worried about you. We searched for you." 49. Jesus said to them, "Why did you search for ME? You must know that I will be doing MY Father's work!" 50. But they didn't understand the meaning of Jesus' words. 51. Jesus went with HIS parents to the city NAZARETH. Jesus obeyed HIS parents. And HIS mother thought about all the things. 52. Jesus continued to learn more and more. Jesus grew tall. People enjoyed Jesus, and God was pleased also. [C] NEW YEARS EVE INTROIT: Our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Sing to the Lord a new song, because HE does wonderful things; HIS right hand and HIS holy arm is victorious. The Lord informed us about HIS salvation and showed HIS righteousness to the nations. HE remembers HIS love and HIS faithfulness to the people of ISRAEL; and everything on earth sees the salvation of our God. COLLECT: Lord God, heavenly Father, because YOU sent YOUR only Son to save us and YOU gave the name Jesus, help us to begin the New Year trusting in Jesus and live all our days serving HIM and praising HIS glorious name. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ISAIAH 51:1-6 1. Attend to me you people searching for correct things; now search for the Lord. Look you came from that place. 2. See ABRAHAM, your father, and SARAH, she birthed you. ABRAHAM was only one man before I called him, but I blessed him and gave him a large family. 3. The Lord comforts HIS people and pities all the destruction; HE will change the dry country into a beautiful growing area. Happiness and pleasure will be there, thanksgiving and hear all the singing. 4. Attend to me, MY people, and hear ME, MY nation; I give MY Laws, and MY judgment is same-as a light for the nations. 5. I come quickly doing correct things. I come to save. I will judge the nations. The land near the sea will eagerly wait for me and trust in me. 6. Look to heaven, and look to the earth. The heavens will disappear in smoke, the earth will melt-away same-as old clothes, and the people living will die same-as FLIES. But I will always save and always do the correct thing. ROMANS 8:31-39 31. What do we say about this? If God supports us, then no person can defeat us. 32. God will do anything for us. God let HIS Son suffer for us. God gave HIS Son for us all. Now with Jesus our friend, then God will truly give us all things. 33. Who will blame God's chosen people? No one! God makes HIS people alright. 34. Who can say that God's people are to blame? No one! Christ Jesus died for us, but that is not all. Jesus also arose from death. And now Jesus is with God in heaven praying to God for us. 35. Can anything separate us from Christ's love? No! Can trouble separate us from Christ's love? No! Can problems or persecution separate us? No! If we have no food or clothes, will that separate us from Christ's love? No! Will danger or death separate us? No! 36. Same-as written in the Holy Writings, "Because of Jesus we are near danger and death all the time. People think we are worth no more than sheep to be killed." 37. But in all these things we are victorious through God showing HIS love to us. 38. Yes, I am sure that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Not death, not life, not angels, not reigning spirits, nothing now or nothing in the future, 39. No powers, nothing above us, nothing below us, or anything else in the world will separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. GRADUAL: Everything on earth sees the salvation of our God. Shout with happiness to the Lord, all you people on earth. The Lord informed us about HIS salvation and showed HIS righteousness to the nations. MATTHEW 1:18-21 18. The mother of Jesus Christ was-named MARY. Jesus became born this way. Mary was-engaged to marry JOSEPH. But before the wedding MARY became pregnant by the power of the Holy Spirit. 19. JOSEPH was a good man and didn't-want to embarrass MARY in-front-of the people. JOSEPH planned to divorce MARY secretly. 20. While JOSEPH thought about everything, an angel of the Lord came in a dream. The angel said, "JOSEPH, son of DAVID, don't be-afraid to accept MARY for your wife. The baby inside her comes from the Holy Spirit. 21. She will birth a Son, and you will name the boy Jesus, because HE will save HIS people from their sins." [C] SECOND SUNDAY AFTER CHRISTMAS INTROIT: The Word became born and lived among us. We saw HIS glory, same-as the only Son from the Father full of love and truth. Truly it-is good to sing praises to our God, pleasant and correct to praise HIM! Our Lord is great and very powerful; HIS understanding has no limit. The Lord loves those people honoring HIM and trusting in HIS never failing love. Praise the Lord, O JERUSALEM; praise your God, O heaven. COLLECT: O God, our Maker and Savior, YOU wonderfully made us and YOU made us YOUR people through the birth of YOUR Son, help us to always live with HIM same-as HE came to live with us. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ISAIAH 61:10 - 62:3 10. I will rejoice much because of my Lord, and my soul will be happy with my God, because God saved me and made me holy. 11. Same-as the ground grows food and flowers bloom from SEEDS, the same the Lord God will make HIS righteousness and praise to grow in-front-of the nations. 62:1. Because of MY people I will not be-quiet and for MY people in the city JERUSALEM I will not rest until the righteousness shines same-as a light and salvation shines same-as a fire. 2. The nations will see God's righteousness and all the kings will see HIS glory. YOU will have a new name that the Lord HIMSELF will give YOU. 3. YOU will be the same-as a beautiful crown for the Lord, and a shining diamond in the hand of God. EPHESIANS 1:3-6, 15-18 3. Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of Christ God gave every spiritual blessing from heaven. 4. Before God made the world, God chose us that we would be holy and without blame in-front-of HIM. 5. Because of HIS love God decided to make us HIS sons through Jesus Christ agreeing with HIS pleasure and purpose. 6. Let us praise God for HIS wonderful love and for the free gift God gave us in HIS dear Son. 15. For this reason since I hear about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God's people, 16. I have not stopped thanking God for you. I remember you in my prayers. 17. I ask the God of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Father of glory to give you HIS Spirit to make you wise and to show God to you that you will know HIM. 18. I ask that your minds be-opened to see HIS light that you will know the hope that God gives to you and the very rich wonderful blessings God promises HIS people. GRADUAL: For us a child is born, for us a Son is given, and HE will reign over all. And HE will be named Wonderful Advisor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. Sing to the Lord a new song, because HE does wonderful things. JOHN 1:1-18 1. 15. JOHN told about Christ and said, "I told you about this Christ. I said that HE will come later, but HE is more important than me, because HE lived long before me. 16. All of us received from HIM many, many gifts of love. 17. The Law was given to us through MOSES, but God's love and truth came to us through Jesus Christ. 18. No one ever saw God. The only Son of God, that Son of God the Father loves very much, that Son told us about God. [C] THE EPIPHANY OF OUR LORD INTROIT: All kings bow to HIM and all nations will serve HIM. O God, give YOUR holy Son the power to judge with righteousness and honesty. Because HE will help the poor people shouting for help, and HE will help the suffering people that no one else will help. HE will show mercy and save the weak people from death. HE will save those slave people and those suffering from beatings, because their lives are important to HIM. Let HIS name stay forever, stay same long as the sun shines. COLLECT: O God, in the past YOU led a star. And with that star YOU show YOUR only Son to the people of other nations. Now we know YOU through faith; but after this life, lead us to the full joy of YOUR glory in heaven. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ISAIAH 60:1-6 1. Stand, shine same-as the sun, because the glory of the Lord is shining on you. 2. Darkness covers the earth and black darkness covers the people, but the light of the Lord shines on you, and HIS glory will be with you. 3. Nations will come to see your light and kings will come near to see. 4. Look-around you and see the things happening. The people meeting together will come home. Your sons will come from far-away. Your daughters will be carried same-as children. 5. You will see this and be filled with joy. You will be nervous with excitement. The riches of the nations will be brought to you; yes, from across the sea riches will come. 6. Many CAMELS will come from the countries MIDIAN and EPHAH. People will come from the country SHEBA bringing gold and perfume. The people will tell the Good Story about the things that the Lord does. EPHESIANS 3:2-12 2. You know that God in HIS mercy gave-me this work, And God blesses you through my work. 3. God showed me HIS secret plan. I already wrote about this in another letter. 4. If you read that other letter, then you will understand the secret about Christ. 5. Long-ago people didn't-know this secret. But now God told HIS secret to HIS holy preachers and prophets. God spoke through the Holy Spirit. 6. And this is HIS secret: people from other nations, not Jewish people, now can have God's blessings through HIS Good Story. They are members of the same family. They share in the promise God made through Jesus Christ. 7. God made me a preacher of this Good Story. God gave me this work through the power of HIS mercy. 8. I am less worthy than any of God's people! But God gave me honor because HE let me preach to people in other nations about the wonderful blessings of Christ. 9. And God let me help all people understand God's secret plan. God made all things, and HE kept HIS plan secret through all past years. 10. Why? For the church to teach the angel managers and spirit powers about God's wisdom now. 11. This agrees with God's eternal plan. And God did and finished the things HE planned through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12. In joining with Jesus and through our faith in HIM, we have the courage to meet God face-to-face. GRADUAL: Praise the Lord, all you nations; praise HIM all you people. Because HIS love is great to us, and HIS faithfulness remains forever. Give glory to the name of the Lord, bring a gift and enter HIS house. MATTHEW 2:1-12 1. After Jesus was born in the city BETHLEHEM in the country JUDEA during the time of king HEROD, wise men from the East arrived in the city JERUSALEM and said, 2. "Where is the new baby King of the Jews? We saw HIS star in the East, and we came to worship HIM." 3. King HEROD heard this and those words bothered him and all the people in the city JERUSALEM. 4. Then HEROD had a meeting with the Jewish priests and Law teachers and asked them about the place of Christ's birth. 5. They answered, "In the city BETHLEHEM in the country JUDEA, because the prophets wrote the words: 6. 'And you BETHLEHEM, in the nation JUDAH. You are not the smallest city in the country JUDAH. Because from you a King will come and HE will lead MY people, ISRAEL.'" 7. Then HEROD called the wise men in a secret meeting and asked them about the time the star first appeared. 8. And HEROD sent the wise men to the city BETHLEHEM and said, "Go and search-for the baby. After you find the baby, come and tell-me, then I can go and worship HIM also." 9. After the wise men listened to the king, they left. And the star they saw before in the Eastern sky now appeared again; and that star moved and stopped over the baby's home. 10. And happened the wise men saw the star, they rejoiced with much happiness. 11. And they came into the house and saw the Baby with MARY, HIS mother. And they knelt-down and worshipped Jesus. They opened their gifts, and gave Jesus: gold, perfume, and sweet incense-smoke. 12. And God warned them in a dream, "Don't go to HEROD again." Now the wise men left for their home nation another way. [C] FIRST SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY INTROIT: Praise to the Lord God of ISRAEL. God does wonderful things. Praise HIS glorious name forever. YOU (Jesus) are the most perfect man and YOUR mouth speaks words of love, because God blesses YOU forever. YOUR throne, O God, will stay forever; YOU will judge YOUR kingdom honestly. YOU love righteousness and hate evil; now God put YOU higher than all angels. COLLECT: Father in heaven, happened our Savior, Jesus Christ, baptized, YOU named Jesus, YOUR dear Son. In our baptism we became joined with Christ, and we receive eternal life through Christ. Help us all to do as YOUR children, as we promised in our baptism. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ISAIAH 42:1-7 1. God says, "Here is MY servant. I support HIM. I chose HIM. HE makes ME happy. I put MY Spirit on HIM. HE will judge the nations. 2. HE will not shout or quarrel in the streets. 3. HE will see a crushed STEM, but HE will not break-it-off. HE will not blow-out a weak burning LAMP. HE will encourage the weak tempted people. HE will judge honestly. 4. HE will not fail. HE will not be discouraged. HE will come to judge the earth; and the people across the seas wait to hear HIS teaching." 5. The Lord God creator of the wide-skies and the large world and all living things giving breath and spirit to all peoples says, 6. "I, the Lord, named YOU holy and protected YOU and I gave YOU to show the people MY promise is true. YOU shall shine same-as a Light to the nations; 7. YOU will let blind people see; YOU will free people from jail; YOU will free also those people in very dark jails." ACTS 10:34-38 34. PETER began speaking, "Now I understand. God truly does the same for all people. 35. Because any person that honors God and does right, then God accepts him. The color of skin doesn't-matter. 36. You know God announced to the Jewish people that Jesus Christ gives us peace. Jesus is Lord reigning over all people. 37. You know JOHN preached about baptism in the country of the Jews. Then Jesus did wonderful things, starting in the country named GALILEE. 38. And you know God the Father gave the Holy Spirit and power to Jesus. You know Jesus travelled-around helping people and healing people from the devil's control. Jesus could do these things because God the Father was with HIM. GRADUAL: Praise the Lord, all you nations; praise HIM, all you people. Because HIS love is great to us, and HE stays faithful forever. Give glory to the Lord, and enter HIS house bringing a gift. LUKE 3:15-17, 21-22 15. The people began to hope for something wonderful and began to wonder if JOHN maybe is the Promised Savior. 16. JOHN told the people, "I baptize you with water, but the Promised Savior is much greater then me. I am not important enough to untie the Savior's shoes. The Savior will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 17. The Savior has the farmer's shovel to separate the good GRAIN and the bad parts. The good GRAIN will be put in the farmer's BARNS, but the bad parts will be thrown in the fire that continues forever." 21. After all the people finished baptized, Jesus also got baptized. While Jesus prayed, the skies opened. 22. The Holy Spirit came-down on Jesus same-as a DOVE. And a voice spoke from heaven, "YOU are MY OWN dear Son. I am very happy with YOU." [C] SECOND SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY INTROIT: I don't hide YOUR righteousness in my heart; I speak about YOUR faithfulness and saving work. O my God, I want to obey YOUR Word. I wait patiently for the Lord, and HE heard my crying. HE helped me out-of my troubles, and HE gave-me strength. HE taught me a new song to praise my God. COLLECT: Almighty and eternal God, YOU reign all things in heaven and earth. With mercy hear YOUR people pray and give us YOUR peace all the days of our life. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ISAIAH 62:1-5 1. For Mt. Zion I will announce. For the city JERUSALEM I will not remain quiet until that city becomes holy, shining same-as a light, and until the city gets saved with victory same-as a fiery TORCH. 2. JERUSALEM, all nations will see that you are holy, and all kings will see your glory. The Lord will give you a new name. 3. You will become same-as a beautiful crown in the Lord's hand. 4. Never again will people name you: "That nation God forgot." Never again will people name you: "That nation God gave-up." But your new name will be: "God is excited with you," and: "That nation married to the Lord." 5. The same-as a young man marries a girl, also your Maker will marry you. The same-as a groom is excited with his bride, also your God is excited with you. I CORINTHIANS 12:1-11 1. Now brothers and sisters, I want you to understand about spiritual gifts. 2. You remember your lives before you became a believer. Other people influenced you to worship idols - things without life. 3. Now, I want you to know, no one speaks through the Spirit of God and says, "Curse Jesus!" And no one can say, "Jesus is Lord!" except through the Holy Spirit's help. 4. We see different gifts, but the same Spirit. 5. We see different services, but the same Lord. 6. We see different works, but the same God does all these things in everyone. 7. But HE shows the Spirit to each one for the good of all. 8. Because through the Spirit, HE gives the words of wisdom to one. And with the same Spirit HE gives knowledge to another. 9. Through the same Spirit HE gives faith to another. And through the one Spirit HE gives the gifts of healing to another. 10. HE gives the power to do wonderful things to another. HE gives the gift to speak prophecy to another. Through HIM another can judge the spirits. Through HIM another can speak languages. Through HIM another can interpret languages. 11. One and the same Spirit works in all these things. HE gives to each one as HE wants. GRADUAL: Praise the Lord, all you nations; praise HIM, all you people. Because HIS love is great to us, and HE stays faithful forever. Give glory to the Lord, and enter HIS house bringing a gift. JOHN 2:1-11 1. Now a marriage happened in the city named CANA in the country named GALILEE on the third day. And Jesus' mother went to the wedding. 2. Jesus and HIS friends also received an invitation to the wedding. 3. Happened the wine was-all-gone, Jesus' mother said, "The people have no wine." 4. And Jesus said, "Woman, what is MY business to you? MY time is not-yet here." 5. Jesus' mother told the servants, "Do anything Jesus tells you." 6. And six stone water JARS were-there, each one about twenty or thirty GALLONS. These JARS were for the Jewish washing. 7. Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the JARS with water." And the servants filled the six JARS. 8. And Jesus said to them, "Now dip-out and serve to the HOST of the wedding feast." And the servants obeyed. 9. The HOST tasted the water now become wine, and he didn't-know that the wine was water before. But the servants knew because they dipped-out the water. And the HOST called the groom. 10. And the HOST said, "Every man serves the good wine first, and after men drink, drink, drink, then they serve the lousy wine. But you kept the good wine until now." 11. Jesus did this first wonderful happening in the city named CANA in the country named GALILEE. And HE showed HIS glory, and HIS friends believed on HIM. [C] THIRD SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY INTROIT: From the east to the west the name of the Lord is praised. Praise the Lord, all you servants of the Lord. Praise the Lord now and forevermore. The Lord is praised in all the nations, HIS glory praised in heaven. HE helps the poor people out-of their broken houses, and puts them in seats next-to the princes. To the woman she can't have any babies, HE gives her children to make her happy. COLLECT: O Lord God Almighty, YOU always in the past gave several gifts from the Holy Spirit to YOUR servants, give us YOUR gifts today and give us the knowledge to use the gifts to YOUR honor and glory and the good of other people. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ISAIAH 61:1-6 1. The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord chose me to tell the good announcement to those suffering people, and HE sent me to comfort people with broken hearts. HE chose me to announce freedom to slave people, yes freedom for those people in prison. 2. HE sent me to announce the year that God will accept people, yes, and HIS time to defeat their enemies. 3. For all people crying, HE will comfort them with a crown -- not ASHES; with happiness -- not crying; with praise -- not depression. 4. They will be the same-as trees that the Lord HIMSELF planted. They will do the correct thing, and God will receive praise for HIS work. They will build again those long-ago destroyed cities. 5. Then people of other nations will serve you same-as shepherds, and they will plow your fields and take-care of your VINES. 6. People will know you are priests of the Lord, the servants of our God. You will enjoy the wealth of the nations, and you will be proud of those riches. I CORINTHIANS 12:12-21, 26-27 12. Jesus' Church is the same-as a body. We have many parts all in our one body. 13. Same with us, some of us Jews, some not Jews, some of us slaves, some of us free people, all of us baptized into Jesus' Church by the Holy Spirit. 14. The body doesn't have only one part, but the body has many parts. 15. Imagine your foot saying, "Because I'm not a hand, I don't belong to the body," the foot truly still belongs to the body. 16. Imagine the ear saying, "Because I'm not an eye, I don't belong to the body," the ear truly still belongs to the body. 17. If the whole body were a big eye, how can the body hear? If the whole body were a big ear, how can the body smell? 18. But God put all the many parts into the body same-as God wanted that to happen. 19. If all the parts were the same, then we don't have a body! 20. But now we have many parts all in our one body. 21. The eye can't tell the hand, "I don't need you," and the hand can't tell the feet, "I don't need you." 26. If one part of the body suffers, all the other parts suffer too. If one part of the body gets praise, all the other parts are happy too. 27. Now all of you are parts of Jesus' body, the Church, and each of you is a different part! GRADUAL: Praise the Lord, all you nations; praise HIM, all you people. Because HIS love is great to us, and HE stays faithful forever. Give glory to the Lord, and enter HIS house bringing a gift. LUKE 4:14-21 14. Jesus went again to the country named GALILEE, and the Holy Spirit was with Jesus. The people talked about Jesus all over the country. 15. Jesus taught in their churches, and the people praised Jesus. 16. Then Jesus arrived at the town named NAZARETH. Jesus grew-up in that town. On the worship day Jesus went to the church same-as regularly. 17. A man gave to Jesus the book of the prophet ISAIAH. Jesus opened-the-book and found these words written. 18. "The Holy Spirit of God is on ME, because God chose ME to preach the happy announcement to the poor people. God sent ME to tell people in jail that they are free, to tell blind people that they will see, to bring happiness to sad people, 19. To announce the time that the Lord God will save HIS people." 20. Jesus closed-the-book and gave the book to the man, and Jesus sat-down. All the people in church watched Jesus. 21. Then Jesus said, "Today while you are listening, these words are truly happening now." [C] FOURTH SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY INTROIT: The Lord watches the way of the righteous, but the way of evil people will be destruction. Happy is the person that doesn't listen to the advice of the evil people and doesn't sit together-with sinners and doesn't join with the mocking people. But happy is the person that enjoys obeying the laws of the Lord and thinks about the laws day and night. That person is the same-as a tree near the river growing good food and the leafs never wither. Everything the righteous person does succeeds. The evil person always fails. The evil person is the same-as weeds blown-away. Now the evil people will not stand in-front-of the judge; and sinners will not stand among the righteous people. COLLECT: Almighty God, YOU know that we live with many dangers around us every-day and because of our sin we often weak, give us YOUR strength and protection to help us during all dangers and temptations. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. JEREMIAH 1:4-10 4. The Lord said to me, "I chose you before I gave you life, yes, before your birth, 5. I had a special holy job for you - MY prophet to the world." 6. JEREMIAH answered, "O Lord God, I can't do that. I don't-know how to speak and I am only a young man." 7. But the Lord said to me, "Don't worry about your youth. You will go every place that I send you and you will speak the words I tell you. 8. Don't be-afraid of the people, because I, the Lord, will be with you and help you." 9. Then the Lord touched my mouth and said, "Listen! I put MY Words in your mouth. 10. Your work begins today for warning the nations and world kingdoms. You will have power to criticize and take-away kings. You will have power to destroy and defeat. You will have power to begin and establish new kings." I CORINTHIANS 12:27 - 13:13 27. Now you are all parts of the body of Jesus. 28. God chose different people in the church to do HIS work. First people sent to tell God's word; second preachers; third teachers; then people doing wonderful works; then people helping heal the sick; then other helpers, leaders, and those speaking various languages. 29. Can everyone be sent to tell God's Word? Can all be preachers? Can all be teachers? Can all do wonderful works? No! 30. Can all heal the sick? Can all talk different languages? Can all interpret languages? No! 31. But from your heart you should want the best gifts. And I will show you the best way of all. 13:1. If I speak with a beautiful voice of men and angels, but I have no love; then I am same-as a noisy trumpet or cymbals-striking-together. 2. Maybe I know and see the future. Maybe I understand all knowledge and understand God's secret things. Maybe I have a strong faith and can move mountains. But without love I am nothing. 3. Maybe I give all my earthly things and money to poor people. 4. This love is very patient and kind. This love is not jealous and doesn't boast. 5. This love is not stuck-up and doesn't have bad MANNERS. This love doesn't say, " Me first", and this love doesn't anger quickly. This love doesn't-want revenge. 6. This love isn't happy seeing other people sin, but is happy seeing success of correct things. 7. This love never gives-up, never stops believing, never lets hope dissolve. This love remains and remains. 8. This love never fails. All prophets words will dissolve. All heavenly and secret languages will stop. All knowledge will dissolve. 9. Because our knowledge isn't perfect, and our prophet's words are not perfect. 10. But HIS time comes, and all will become perfect. Then all these poor and weak things will dissolve. 11. Long-ago I was a child. I talked and felt and thought same-as a child. Now I am a man, and I dropped my child talk and feeling and thinking. 12. Now we only see a very obscure picture, because we are the same-as people trying to see in an old dirty mirror. But in the future we will see all things clearly, face-to-face. Now I only know a little-bit; but in the future I will know all things perfectly....same-as God knows me. 13. In this life we have three wonderful things: faith, hope and love; but the very best is love. GRADUAL: Praise the Lord, all you nations; praise HIM, all you people. Because HIS love is great to us, and HE stays faithful forever. Give glory to the Lord, and enter HIS house bringing a gift. LUKE 4:21-32 21. Jesus began to speak, "These words from the Holy Writings are truly happening today." 22. All the people praised Jesus for HIS smooth preaching. Some asked, "Is Jesus the son of Joseph? Correct?" 23. Jesus said, "I wonder if you will tell me the old story, 'Doctor, heal yourself.' Do for us the same things you did in the city named CAPERNAUM." 24. Jesus said, "I tell you honestly, a prophet isn't respected in his home town. 25. Listen to me. During the time ELIJAH lived, many women had no husband because the husbands died in EGYPT, because it didn't rain for three and one half years and not enough food in the country. 26. But ELIJAH wasn't sent to anyone except to the woman from the city named ZAREPHATH in the country named SIDON. Her husband was dead. 27. Many people had a bad skin disease while ELISHA lived. But noone became healed except the man named NAAMAN from the country named SYRIA." 28. All the people in the Jewish church became angry hearing Jesus' words. 29. The people stood-up and lead Jesus outside the town to a hill, because they wanted to throw Jesus off a cliff. 30. But Jesus escaped by walking through the center of the people leaving that place. 31. Jesus went to the city named CAPERNAUM in the country named GALILEE. On the worship day Jesus taught the people. 32. The people were surprised with Jesus' teaching, because Jesus spoke powerful words. [C] FIFTH SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY INTROIT: The light shines for the holy, loving, and righteous person during the darkness. Praise the Lord. Happy is the person that honors the Lord and obeys HIS commands. Much wealth that person has and righteousness stays forever. That person will not fear sad stories, but will stay strong and trust the Lord. That person feels safe and will not fear; finally that person will defeat all the enemies. That person gives gifts to poor people and righteousness stays forever. COLLECT: O God, our loving Father, through YOUR Holy Spirit YOU put YOUR love in the hearts of YOUR faithful people. Give YOUR servants a strong mind and body, that we can love YOU with all our strength and with all our heart and do things pleasing in YOUR sight. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ISAIAH 6:1-8 1. In the year King UZZIAH died, I saw the Lord sitting on HIS throne in heaven. HIS robe filled the temple. 2. Above God stood the special angels. Each angel had six wings: two wings to cover-their-face; two wings to cover-their-feet; and two wings for flying. 3. One angel said to the other angels, "Holy, Holy is the Lord of heaven! The whole earth is full with HIS glory." 4. The angel's voice made the whole temple shake and smoke filled that place. 5. And I said, "I will die because I am a sinner and I live with sinful people, and I saw the King, the Lord of heaven." 6. Then one of the special angels flew to me with a COAL brought from the altar. 7. The angel touched my mouth with the COAL and said, "See, this COAL touched your mouth; your sins are taken-away; you are holy." 8. Then, I heard the Lord ask, "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me." I CORINTHIANS 14:12-20 12. Because you want gifts from the Holy Spirit, ask the Holy Spirit for gifts that will help the whole Church. 13. If you have the skill to speak in a special language, pray for the gift to interpret that language. 14. If I pray using special languages, my spirit is doing the praying and my mind doesn't understand. 15. What should I do? I will pray using my spirit and also I will pray using my mind. I will sing using my spirit and also I will sing using my mind. 16. If you honor and give thanks to God using your spirit but making strange sounds noone understands, how can other people honor and give thanks to God if they don't-know anything you are saying? 17. You are honoring and giving thanks to God, but you are not helping other people. 18. I thank God that sometimes I can speak in special languages more than all of you. 19. But in a meeting of the church, it is better if I say fine words that other people understand and that helps other people, than to say 10,000 words using special languages. 20. Christian friends, don't think same-as children. Think same-as adults. But copy the faith of children. GRADUAL: Praise the Lord, all you nations; praise HIM, all you people. Because HIS love is great to us, and HE stays faithful forever. Give glory to the Lord, and enter HIS house bringing a gift. LUKE 5:1-11 1. Many people came near Jesus; they wanted to hear the Word of God. And Jesus stood near the lake named GENESARET. 2. And HE saw two boats near the lake. The fishermen were washing their NETS. 3. One boat belonged to SIMON PETER, and Jesus entered that boat and asked PETER, "Row a little-bit from the land." Then HE sat-down and taught the people from the boat. 4. Jesus stopped speaking and said to SIMON, "Row to the deep water and your NETS let-down and catch fish." 5. And SIMON answered, "Lord, we worked all night and caught nothing; but because YOU say that, I will let-down the NETS." 6. And the men let-down the NETS and caught many fish, and their NETS began to break. 7. And they called their helpers in the other boat to come and help. And they came and filled both boats, and the boats began to sink. 8. SIMON PETER saw that, knelt-down in-front-of Jesus and said, "Lord, leave me because I am a sinful man." 9. PETER was surprised and also the other men, because of the many fish they caught. 10. JAMES and JOHN, the sons of ZEBEDEE, also were surprised. They worked with PETER. And Jesus said to SIMON, "Fear not; from now-on you will catch people." 11. Then they rowed to the land and dropped their NETS and followed Jesus. [C] SIXTH SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY INTROIT: The evil people have many troubles, but the people trusting in the Lord have HIS eternal love around them. Happy is the person forgiven of his sins. Happy is the person that always speaks the truth, because the Lord doesn't count his sins. I confess my sins to YOU, and I don't hide my law breakings. I will confess my mistakes to the Lord, and HE forgives all of my sins. Now let all the holy people pray to YOU and find YOU, Lord; because happens that the great oceans cover-over us, then we can never find YOU. God, YOU help protect us from all trouble and save us from destruction. COLLECT: Lord God, YOU hear the prayers of YOUR people. Help us to see and to understand the things we should be doing and give to us YOUR love and power to do those things. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. JEREMIAH 17:5-8 5. The Lord says, "I will condemn anyone that trusts in people and depends on man's strength and doesn't attend to ME. 6. That person is the same-as a bush in the dry country. That bush grows in the dry places on salty ground; places people can't live. Nothing good happens to that person. None. 7. But happy is the person that trusts in the Lord and depends on the Lord. 8. That person is the same-as a tree growing near a stream and the roots go deep toward the water; heat and many months of dryness don't bother that tree; the leaves stay green and it continues growing delicious food." I CORINTHIANS 15:12; 16-20 12. If we preach that Christ arose from the dead, can some of you say, "Dead people don't arise?" 16. You see, if dead people don't arise, then Christ didn't arise. 17. And if Christ didn't arise, then your faith can't help you, and you are still burdened with your sins. 18. Then those believers in Christ now dead are lost. 19. If our hope in Christ is good for this life only and no more, then we deserve more pity than anyone else in all the world. 20. But now Christ finished arose from the dead, and that is the promise that those believers now dead will also arise. GRADUAL: Praise the Lord, all you nations; praise HIM, all you people. Because HIS love is great to us, and HE stays faithful forever. Give glory to the Lord, and enter HIS house bringing a gift. LUKE 6:17-26 17. Jesus came-down from the hill and stood on a level place with many of HIS followers. Many people came from the whole country of the Jews, from the city named JERUSALEM and from near the sea, the towns named TYRE and SIDON. 18. The people came to hear Jesus and have their sicknesses healed. The people bothered by evil spirits also came and became healed. 19. All the people tried to touch Jesus because power came out of HIM and made them healed. 20. Jesus looked at HIS followers and said, "Blessed are you poor people, you have God's Kingdom. 21. Blessed are you hungry people, you will be-satisfied. Blessed are you crying people, you will laugh. 22. Blessed are you if people hate you and stick-up-noses at you, mock you, and say you are evil because you believe in the Son of Man. 23. Be happy if that happens and dance because you will have a great gift in heaven. You see that the same way people in the past did to the prophets. 24. But true terrible for you rich people. You finished have your easy life. 25. But true terrible for you people finished eating full. You will be-hungry. True terrible for you people laughing now, you will cry and grieve. 26. True terrible if all people praise you because the people in the past did the same thing to false prophets." [C] SEVENTH SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY INTROIT: The Lord is full of mercy and kindness, slow to become angry, and overflowing with love. Praise the Lord, Oh my soul; all inside me, praise HIS holy name. Praise the Lord, Oh my soul, and don't forget all HIS blessings. HE forgives all my sins and heals all my sicknesses; He saves my life from destruction and fills me with love and mercy. HE satisfies all my needs with good things and I become excited same-as a young child. HE doesn't punish us same-as we deserve. Same-as the sky is high above the earth, the same great is HIS love for those people that honor HIM; the same far-away the east from the west, the same far-away HE throws our sins. COLLECT: Lord God, we ask YOU to keep YOUR family, the Church, always faithful to YOU. Let us depend on the hope of YOUR promises and get strength from the power of YOUR love. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. GENESIS 45:3-8, 15 3. JOSEPH said to his brothers, "I am JOSEPH! Is my father still alive?" But his brothers were-shocked and couldn't answer. 4. Then JOSEPH said, "Please come near to me." They came near, and he said, "Yes, I am your brother JOSEPH. You sold me same-as a slave to EGYPT long ago. 5. But now don't grieve. Don't blame yourselves for selling me here. Because God truly sent me here to save the people's lives. 6. For two years already no food grows and that will continue for five more years, and happens that no farmer can plant and grow food. 7. God sent me here first to hold some food for you, and to save your life, your family, and your future children. 8. See, God sent me here, not you. God made me reign over the king's house and over all EGYPT." 15. JOSEPH kissed all his brothers and cryed, then the brothers talked with him. I CORINTHIANS 15:35-38; 42-50 35. But someone will ask, "How do dead people arise? And what will their body look-like?" 36. Foolish people! The seed you sow must die before that begins to grow alive. 37. And the seed you sow doesn't look-like the flower that grows. The seed is small and round, but the flower is big and beautiful. 38. And God gives each seed a special kind of flower. 42. That is the way is will happen at the time of the arising from the dead. Happen that the body is buried, it is dead; but it will arise to live again. 43. The body is buried with shame; it will arise to live with glory. The body is buried in weakness; it will arise to live in power. 44. The body is buried a natural body; it will arise to live a spiritual body. Same-as we have a natural body, also we have a spiritual body. 45. The Holy Writings says, "ADAM, the first man, was-born with a natural body; the last ADAM is a life giving Spirit." 46. The natural body happens first, then happens the spiritual body. 47. The first man was-made from the ground; the SECOND MAN comes from heaven. 48. The people born on earth are the same-as the first man made from the ground; the people of heaven are the same-as the SECOND MAN from heaven. 49. Same-as we copy from ADAM, same also let us copy from the SECOND MAN from heaven. 50. I tell you, Christian friends, body and blood can't be in God's Kingdom; dead things can't be-joined to living things. GRADUAL: Praise the Lord, all you nations; praise HIM, all you people. Because HIS love is great to us, and HE stays faithful forever. Give glory to the Lord, and enter HIS house bringing a gift. LUKE 6:27-38 27. But I tell you, love your enemies, show kindness to those hating you, 28. Give a blessing to the people cursing you, and pray for those people cruel to you. 29. If anyone hits you on the face right, turn face to left. If anyone takes your coat, give also your shirt. 30. If anyone asks you for something, give it. And if anyone takes your things, don't try to get that back. 31. Do to other people the same way you want other people to do to you. 32. If you show love to people that love you, truly no great profit from that. Sinners also show love to people that love them. 33. If you help someone because he helped you, truly no great profit from that. Sinners also do that. 34. If you loan something to someone and you expect to get something again from him, truly no great profit in that. Sinners loan things expecting to get something again. 35. But instead love your enemies, help them, and loan to them without expecting to get anything again. Then you will have great profit and you will be the children of the most high God, because HE shows kindness to people that don't thank HIM and are wicked. 36. Show mercy the same-as your heavenly Father shows mercy. 37. Don't judge other people, and they will not judge you. Don't condemn other people, and they will not condemn you. Forgive and they will forgive you. 38. Give, and they will give to you a good measure, pressed-down, shaken, overflowing. How-much you give, they will give the same again to you. [C] EIGHTH SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY INTROIT: Oh my soul, find rest with God; my salvation and my honor depend on God. My soul finds rest only with God; my salvation comes from HIM. HE is my strength and my Savior; HE protects me and I will not fear. O people, trust in HIM always; tell God your problems, becuase HE is YOUR protector. One thing God spoke; two things I heard: that YOU, O God, are strong, and that YOU, O Lord, are loving. Truly YOU will bless each person according to the things that person does. COLLECT: O Lord, in mercy hear our prayers and free us from our sins and defend us against all evil. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. JEREMIAH 7:1-7 1. The Lord spoke to JEREMIAH saying, 2. "Stand at the door to the Lord's house and announce, 'All you people of the country JUDAH coming to worship attend to the word of the Lord. 3. The Lord of heaven, the God of ISRAEL, says you live correctly and do good, and I will live with you in this land. 4. Don't trust those people speaking falsely and telling you this is the Lord's temple, then God won't let JERUSALEM be-destroyed! 5. No! If you will truly live correctly and do good, if you will do good to one-another, 6. If you are not cruel to visitors, and to children without parents, and to women without husbands, and you don't kill innocent people, and you don't worship false gods, 7. Then I will live with you in this land that I gave to your fathers long ago. I CORINTHIANS 15:51-58 51. Now I will tell you a secret.. We will not all die, but we will be changed. 52. In a minute, same-as closing your eye, happens you hear the last trumpet. Then the dead people will arise to life, and we will be changed. 53. This natural body must be changed to a spiritual body, and this dead body must be changed to a living body. 54. After this natural body is changed to a spiritual body, and this dead body is changed to a living body, then the Holy Writing will happen true: 55. "Death is conquered with victory. Where is the power of death? Finished! Where is the pain of death? Finished!" 56. The pain of death comes from sin, and the Law gives sin that power. 57. But thank God for giving us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58. My Christian friends, be-strong in faith and let nothing change you. Always do the work of the Lord because you know your hard work for the Lord isn't wasted. GRADUAL: Praise the Lord, all you nations; praise HIM, all you people. Because HIS love is great to us, and HE stays faithful forever. Give glory to the Lord, and enter HIS house bringing a gift. LUKE 6:39-49 39. Jesus told a comparison story to them, "Can a blind man lead another blind man? Or will both fall in a hole? 40. The student is not over the teacher, but everyone under good teaching will become the same-as the teacher. 41. Why do you notice the TWIG in your friend's eye, but you don't see the LOG in your-own eye? 42. Or how can you say to your friend, 'Let me take-out the TWIG from your eye', and you yourself don't see the LOG in your-own eye? Hypocrite, first take-out the LOG from your eye, then you can see clearly to help your friend take-out the TWIG from his eye. 43. Because a good tree can't grow bad food, and a bad tree can't grow good food. 44. You know that tree by seeing the food. You don't pick FIGS from THORN bushes, or grapes from a blackberry bush. 45. A good person gives good things from all the good things kept in his heart, and an evil person gives evil things from all the evil things kept in his heart. The words you speak come-out from your heart. 46. Why do you name ME, 'Lord, Lord,' but you don't obey MY words? 47. Any person coming and listening to MY words and obeying, 48. Is the same-as a man building a house. The man digs deep and builds the house on a strong rock. Then the rains come and the water tries to wash away the house. But the water can't move the house, because the house is built strong. 49. But the person that hears MY words and doesn't obey is the same-as a man building his house on the dirt. The rains come and the house moves and is destroyed." [C] THE TRANSFIGURATION OF OUR LORD INTROIT: Praise the Lord our God and worship in HIS holy Church, because the Lord our God is holy. The Lord reigns, let the nations fear; the Lord sits on HIS throne with angels around HIM, let the earth shake. Great is the Lord in heaven; HE reigns over all the nations. Let the nations praise YOUR great and wonderful name -- HE is holy. The King is mighty, HE loves honesty -- YOU always show fairness; in ISRAEL YOU finished doing the correct and fairness thing. Praise the Lord our God and worship HIM; HE is holy. COLLECT: O God, in that glorious transfiguration of YOUR only Son YOU proved the secret of the faith of our fathers, and with YOUR voice from that cloud YOU showed YOUR acceptance of us through Jesus. In mercy give us that same glory that YOU showed in Jesus, and bring us to that glory in heaven. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Amen. DEUTERONOMY 34:1-12 1. MOSES left the country of MOAB and went to Mt. NEBO. That part of the mountain named PISGAH is east from the city named JERICHO. 2. And the Lord showed MOSES all the promised land.....far north and far south and west to the sea. 3. And the Lord told MOSES, "This is the land I promised ABRAHAM, ISAAC and JACOB. 4. I told them I will give this land to their children. I let you see it with your-own eyes, but you will not go there." 5. Now, MOSES the servant of the Lord died in the land of MOAB same-as God decided. 6. And God buried MOSES in MOAB in the valley near the city BETH-PEOR. But no one found his grave. 7. MOSES lived for 120 years. His eyes saw perfect and his body was still strong. 8. The Jewish people cryed for MOSES in the land of MOAB for 30 days until the time for crying and grieving for MOSES ended. 9. Then the Spirit of wisdom filled JOSHUA, son of NUN, because MOSES before blessed him. Now the Jewish people listened to him and obeyed the commands the Lord gave through MOSES. 10. Since that time, ISRAEL never had a prophet same-as MOSES. The Lord knew that man face-to-face. 11. Think of those wonderful happenings and proofs the Lord sent MOSES to do in EGYPT against king PHAROAH and his servants and against the whole nation! 12. Think of the mighty things and those great and terrible things MOSES did before the eyes of all the Jewish people. II CORINTHIANS 4:3-6 3. Sometimes people don't understand our preaching the Good Story to them. That happens to some people because they are lost in sin. 4. They don't believe because the evil god of this world blinds their minds. Then they don't see the light of the Good Story about the glory of Christ. Remember, Christ is the same-as God. 5. We aren't preaching about ourselves, but we preach that Jesus Christ is Lord; and we are only your servants in the name of Jesus. 6. Remember, God said, "Let light shine out-of darkness." Now God shines HIS light in our hearts, and that light gives us knowledge about God's glory -- the same glory shining in the face of Jesus. GRADUAL: Praise the Lord, all you nations; praise HIM, all you people. Because HIS love is great to us, and HE stays faithful forever. Give glory to the Lord, and enter HIS house bringing a gift. LUKE 9:28-36 28. Now about eight days later Jesus brought PETER, JOHN and JAMES to a mountain to pray. 29. And while Jesus was-praying, HIS face changed and HIS clothes became white and shining. 30. And, look, two men talked with Jesus, one man was MOSES and the other man was ELIJAH. 31. Both man shone same-as Jesus, and they all talked about Jesus' death that would happen in the city named JERUSALEM. 32. Now PETER and the other friends were-sleeping, and they awoke and saw Jesus' shining body and the two men with Jesus. 33. And the same time MOSES and ELIJAH disappeared, PETER said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good that we are here; let us make three tents, one for YOU, one for MOSES, and one for ELIJAH." PETER didn't think first before saying those words. 34. While PETER was-saying that, a cloud came over the mountain all around them, and they became afraid. 35. And they heard a voice in the cloud saying, "This is MY Son, MY Special One, listen to Jesus." 36. And the voice stopped, they saw only Jesus. And the three friends kept secret and told no one about the things they saw on the mountain. [C] ASH WEDNESDAY INTROIT: Offer to God your sorrow, a sad and sorry heart God will attend. Show mercy to me, O God, agreeing-with YOUR love and kindness, agreeing-with YOUR much mercy, forgive my law breaking. Wash-away my wrongs, and make me clean from my sin. Because I know my law breaking, and my sin is always in-front-of me. Look, you want truth in the heart, and in secret you will teach me wisdom. Cleanse me with YOUR Word and I will become clean. YOU wash me and I will become white same-as snow. Let me hear happiness and excitement; then my broken body can become happy. Hide YOUR face from my sins, and forgive all my wrongs. Begin in me a clean heart, O God, and make a new correct spirit in me. Don't throw-away me from in-front-of you, and don't take-away YOUR Holy Spirit from me. Again give me happiness with YOUR saving work, and give-me an eager soul. COLLECT: Almighty and eternal God, YOU don't hate things YOU made, and YOU forgive sins of sorry people. Now in us make and begin new and sorry hearts. Then we will feel sorrow about our sins and cry about our sinful souls, and then we will receive forgiveness from YOU, our God of mercy. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. JOEL 2:12-19 12. Now the Lord your God says: "Come again to ME with all your heart. Come, not eating, crying, and sorrow." 13. Don't rip your clothing, but feel honest sorrow in your hearts. Come again to the Lord your God, because HE shows kindness and mercy. HIS anger is slow, and HE shows much love, and HE wants to change HIS judgment against evil. 14. Don't-know? Maybe HE will change HIS heart and come again and give a blessing while HE passes-by. And maybe that blessing is a food or drink offering to give the Lord, your God. 15. Blow-the-trumpet in the city JERUSALEM. Prepare a holy day with no eating. Announce the day for holy worship. 16. The people meeting together. Call everyone for worship. Bring the old people and the children, also the young babies. Let the groom leave his room and let the bride leave her room. 17. Let the priests -- those servants of the Lord -- let the priests shout in the temple between the altar and the PORCH. Let them say, "Lord, save YOUR people and don't make your gift a shameful thing, or other nations will mock us. Don't let the nations say: 'Where is their God?'" 18. The Lord was jealous for HIS land, and felt mercy for HIS people. 19. And the Lord answered HIS people: "Now I send corn and wine and oil to you, and you will be-satisfied. And I will never again make a thing of shame in-front-of the other nations. II CORINTHIANS 5:20 - 6:2 20. In the name of Jesus Christ and for HIM, we beg you, let God change you from enemies to become friends. 21. Christ had no sin, but God made HIM become our sin offering. God did this for us, so that in Christ we can become alright with God. 6:1. We work together-with HIM, and we beg you: Don't waste this wonderful kindness of God. 2. Because God says: "Your prayer came to ME happened I was ready to attend. I helped you in the day of salvation. Attend, now is the hour to get God's kindness. Today is the day to become saved." GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith. HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God. MATTHEW 6:1-6, 16-21 1. Jesus taught them saying, "Be-careful! Don't do your good works in-front-of people; don't let people see the things you do. Because then you will lose the gift from your Father in heaven. 2. Happen you give a gift to a poor person, don't boast about that to others. Don't copy hypocrites. They blow-trumpets in the churches and on the streets so that people will praise them. Remember this! They already received their gift. 3. NO, happen you help a poor person, don't tell your left hand the things your right hand does. Don't tell your best friend about it, but do good things secretly. 4. And your Father sees the things you do secretly and HE will bless you. 5. Now about prayer, happen you pray, don't do same-as hypocrites. They enjoy standing and praying in the churches and on the streets so that everyone will see them. Remember this! They already received their gift. 6. NO, happen you pray, go to your room alone and close the door, and pray to your Father secretly, and your Father sees the things you do secretly and HE will bless you. 16. Happen you give-up eating, don't copy the hypocrites with their sad faces. They walk around with a hungry face so that everyone will see their giving-up eating. Remember this! They already received their gift. 17. Happen you give-up food, wash-your-face and comb-your-hair. 18. Then others can't know that you are giving-up eating. But your Father will know. YES, your Father sees secret things and HE will bless you. 19. Don't save-money riches on earth, because that can be-destroyed by worms or fire, or robbers can steal that. 20. Instead save-money things in heaven, because no worms or fire can destroy in heaven, and no robbers can steal that. 21. Because the things you love most, that you will attend-to. [C] FIRST SUNDAY IN LENT INTROIT: Anyone praying to ME, I will answer you; I will stay with you during trouble, save you and honor you. I will give-you long life and show you MY salvation. If you live everyday with the Lord, our protector and Most High God, then HE will not let any hurt happen to you and no trouble in your house. Because God commands the angels to stay with you and protect you always. The angels will lift-you-up that you don't hurt yourself. You will walk among lions and snakes and walk on them. The Lord says: Because you love ME, I will save you. I will protect you because you know MY name. You will pray to ME and I will answer you. I will stay with you during trouble, save you and honor you. COLLECT: O almighty and eternal God, we ask YOU to lead, make holy, and reign-over our hearts and bodies that we will obey all YOUR laws; and watch-over and protect us in body and soul. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. DEUTERONOMY 26:5-10 5. MOSES taught the people: You will remember and speak in-front-of the Lord your God: "My father was a wandering man from the country ARAMEA, and he went-down to EGYPT and lived there with his small family.. In EGYPT he became a great and mighty nation with many people. 6. But the EGYPTIAN people were cruel and beat us and gave us a hard slavery. 7. Then we shouted to the Lord, the God of our fathers. And the Lord heard our voice, and HE saw our suffering, our hard work, and our oppression. 8. Then the Lord brought us from EGYPT with HIS mighty hand and HIS out-stretched arm with great fear, with many wonderful happenings. 9. And HE brought us to this place and gave us this land filled with milk and HONEY. And notice, now I bring the first growing food of this land that YOU gave me." 10. Now MOSES said, "Set-down your gift in-front-of the Lord your God and then worship the Lord your God." ROMANS 10:8-13 8. The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart; that word is the word of faith that we preach, 9. That if you will confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and will believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved. 10. Because with the heart a person believes and with the mouth a person confesses about his Savior. 11. Because the Holy Writings says, "Anyone believing in Jesus will not be-ashamed." 12. Because God sees no difference between a Jewish person and a Greek person; because the same Lord over all people is merciful to all that pray to HIM. 13. Because anyone that prays in the name of the Lord will be-saved. GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith. HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God. LUKE 4:1-13 1. Jesus was-leaving the place near the river named JORDAN, and the Holy Spirit led Jesus to the dry country, 2. And the Devil tempted Jesus for 40 days. And during that time Jesus ate nothing. At the end of the 40 days, Jesus became hungry. 3. And the Devil said to Jesus, "If YOU are the Son of God, command this rock to change into bread." 4. And Jesus answered the Devil, "God's Word says that man can't live with bread only, but live with every Word from God." 5. And the Devil brought Jesus to a high mountain and showed Jesus all the nations on earth, 6. And the Devil said to Jesus, "I will give YOU power to reign over all these people, because they all belong to me and I can give them to anyone I want. 7. If YOU will kneel and worship me, I will give these people to YOU." 8. And Jesus answered, "Get-behind me, Devil; because God's Word says you must worship the Lord, your God, and serve only God." 9. And the Devil brought Jesus to the city named JERUSALEM and put Jesus high on the roof of the temple and said, "If YOU are the Son of God, jump-down: 10. Because God's Word says, 'God will command the angels to watch YOU; 11. And the angels will catch YOU so that YOU will not hurt your foot in falling.'" 12. And Jesus answered, "God's Word says, 'You must not tempt the Lord your God.'" 13. And happened the Devil finished all the temptations, the Devil was-leaving from Jesus for-a-while. [C] SECOND SUNDAY IN LENT INTROIT: Remember, O Lord, YOUR great mercy and love, because YOUR mercy and love are eternal. You people honoring the Lord, now trust in HIM; The Lord helps and protects you. Lord, remember us and bless us. HE will bless the house of ISRAEL; HE will bless the house of AARON; HE will bless the people honoring HIM both children and adults. We must praise the Lord now and always. Praise the Lord. COLLECT: O God, YOU always show mercy, now show YOUR mercy to all people that turned-away from YOUR Word, and turn-them-back again with sorry hearts and a strong faith to believe YOUR true Word. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. JEREMIAH 26:8-15 8. JEREMIAH finished saying everything the Lord commanded him to tell all the people. But then the priests, the prophets, and all the people became angry and grabbed him saying, 9. "You must die! Why do you speak prophecy in the name of the Lord? Why do you say this temple will become same-as the city SHILOH - destroyed, Why? Why do you say this city will become destroyed and no one will live here anymore, Why?" All the people came around JEREMIAH in the temple of the Lord. 10. Happened the leaders of JUDAH heard about these things, then they began leaving the house of the king and sat in their places near the New Gate of the temple. 11. Then the priests and prophets said to the leaders and to all the people, "This man deserves death, because he spoke against our city and you yourselves heard him." 12. Then JEREMIAH said to all the leaders and to all the people, "The Lord sent me to speak everything you heard me say against this temple and against the city. 13. You must change the way you live and instead do correct things. You must obey the Lord your God. If you do that, then the Lord will change HIS mind about the destruction HE announced against you. 14. But me? I am in your hands. Do against me same-as you think is good and correct; 15. But understand this; if you kill me, then you and this city are guilty for killing an innocent man. Because it-is-true the Lord sent me to give you this warning." PHILIPPIANS 3:17 - 4:1 17. My Christian friends, all of you copy my life more and more, and watch those that follow our example. 18. I often told you before and now I tell you with tears, many people live same-as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19. At the end they will be-destroyed, because they make food same-as a god. They are happy about shameful things. They think only about earthly things. 20. But we are God's people and we watch for the Lord Jesus to come from heaven same-as the Savior. 21. Jesus will change our humble bodies and make them same-as HIS heavenly body. With that same power HE reigns all things and everything serves HIM. 4:1. And now, my Christian friends, I love you and I want to see you because you give me much happiness. Now you stay strong in your faith. GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith. HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God. LUKE 13:31-35 31. A few Law teachers came to Jesus and said to HIM, "YOU must leave from here now, because king HEROD wants to kill YOU." 32. Jesus answered, "Go and tell that fox: 'Listen, today and tomorrow I will take-out evil spirits and heal people and on the third day I will finish my work.' 33. But I must work today, tomorrow, and the third day, because it is not correct for a prophet to die in another place, except die in the city named JERUSALEM. 34. O JERUSALEM! JERUSALEM! You kill the prophets and you throw stones to kill those people God sends to you. Often I wanted to gather all your people same-as a HEN gathers her babies under her wings, but you stubbornly refused. 35. Look, now I will no more help you. I tell you, notice, you will not see me around here again until you say, 'Blessed is that One coming in the name of the Lord.'" [C] THIRD SUNDAY IN LENT INTROIT: My eyes always watch the Lord, because HE will save my feet from stumbling. I shout to the Lord; I pray to the Lord for mercy. I shout to YOU, O Lord, and I say, "YOU protect me and bless me." Listen to my prayer because I need YOUR help; save me from my enemies because they are strong. Free me from my sins that I can praise YOUR name. Then I will stand among holy people because YOU are good to me. COLLECT: Almighty God, YOU know that we are weak people, now YOU protect us both inside and outside from all bodily hurts and bad thoughts that hurt our soul. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. EXODUS 3:1-8, 10-15 1. One day MOSES took-care-of the sheep of his father-in-law named JETHRO, a priest in the country named MIDIAN. MOSES led the sheep near God's mountain named HOREB. 2. Then the Angel of the Lord appeared in a burning bush. MOSES looked-at the bush, but the bush didn't burn-up and dissolve. 3. MOSES went close to see the reason the bush didn't burn and dissolve. 4. The God said, "MOSES, MOSES." And MOSES asked, "Who is it?" 5. God said, "Don't come near because you stand on holy ground. I AM the God of your fathers, the God of ABRAHAM, ISAAC, and JACOB." 6. MOSES covered-his-face-with-his-hands because he was-afraid to look-at God. 7. Then God said, "I saw the suffering of MY people in EGYPT, and I hear their prayers for freedom from slavery. 8. I want to save them from the EGYPTIANS and bring them to a new land filled with milk and HONEY. In this new land live the CANAANITES, HITTITES, AMORITES, PERIZZITES, HIVITES, and JEBUSITES. 10. Now I will send you to the king for demanding that he let MY people out-of EGYPT." 11. But MOSES said to God, "I can't do that work." 12. Then God said, "I will remain with you, and this will be-proof that I sent you. After you lead the people out-of EGYPT, you will worship God here on this mountain." 13. MOSES answered God, "If I tell the people that the God of your fathers sent me, the people will ask me YOUR name. What will I tell them?" 14. God said, "I AM the Lord. Tell the people MY name is I AM. Tell them that I AM sends you. 15. Tell the people the God of your fathers, ABRAHAM, ISAAC, and JACOB sends you. This is MY name always that you will use during all future years." I CORINTHIANS 10:1-13 1. Christian friends, I want you to know that our fathers followed the cloud and all walked through the sea. 2. They became baptized both in the sea and in the cloud while following MOSES. 3. And by a wonderful work God sent the people food and water in the dry country; they all ate-food that Christ gave them. 4. Christ was with them there in the dry country, and they drank the water that Christ gave them. 5. Christ was there with them same-as a strong Rock for making new their soul. But most of them disobeyed God, and HE destroyed them with snakes. 6. Now all these things are examples for us. They warn us not to want evil things. 7. They warn us not to copy those Jews that followed MOSES through the dry country. Don't worship idols. The Jews worshipped idols and then the Holy Writings says, "The people sat-down to eat and drink and stood-up to dance." 8. We must not join in SEXUAL sins. The Jews joined in SEXUAL sins and 23,000 people died in one day. 9. We must not test the Lord. The Jews tested the Lord and snakes came and killed them. 10. You must not complain. The Jews complained and the Angel of Death destroyed them. 11. All these things happened to them for examples to others. And they were written-down for a warning to us, because we live during a time that the end is almost ready to happen. 12. The person thinking that he is standing, better be-careful that he doesn't fall. Every temptation you have is the same that other people have. 13. Notice! God never breaks HIS promise. HE gives you power to refuse temptation and HE will not let any temptation come above the limits of your power. No! If temptation comes, the same time God gives you strength to patiently push-away that. Now God gives you the way to escape sin. GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith. HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God. LUKE 13:1-9 1. Jesus learned that PILATE killed some Jews from GALILEE while they burned their animal gifts and worshipped at the temple in the city named JERUSALEM. 2. Jesus asked, "Do you think because this happened to them, that those Jews were worse sinners than all the other people in GALILEE? 3. No! You must understand that you will die also if you don't stop your evil ways and begin following God's way. 4. Or remember those 18 men that died because the tower at SILOAM fell on them...Do you think they were worse sinners than all other people living in the city named JERUSALEM? 5. No! You must understand that you will die also if you don't change. 6. Understand this! A man planted a FIG tree, and he came again and again expecting to see food, but no food grew. 7. Finally, the man told his workers to cut-down the tree, because for three years nothing grew on the tree. That place can be-used to grow something other. 8. But the worker asked the man to please let the tree grow one more year, and he will dig around the tree and feed the tree with much water. 9. Then maybe FIGS will grow next year and if not, then the tree can be cut-down." [C] FOURTH SUNDAY IN LENT INTROIT: Be excited and happy with the city JERUSALEM all you people; be excited you people that grieve. Give praise to the Lord because HE heard my asking for mercy. Wait for the Lord; stay strong, trust, and wait for HIM. One thing I ask from the Lord; that I will live all my days in HIS house and watch HIS beautiful face. The Lord protects and helps me; my heart trusts HIM. The Lord gives strength to HIS people and protects HIS chosen people. Save YOUR people and bless them; become their shepherd and take-care-of them forever. COLLECT: Almighty God, our heavenly Father, YOU show mercy new every morning. We don't earn YOUR good love, but still YOU give us all we need for our body and soul. Give us YOUR Holy Spirit that we will accept YOUR good love and give thanks for all YOUR blessings and obediently serve YOU. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ISAIAH 12:1-6 1. On that day you will say, "Praise the Lord! HE was-angry with me, but now HE comforts me. 2. See, God finished come to me. I shall trust and not be-afraid, because the Lord is my strength, and I sing to HIM. HE is my Savior. 3. I have much happiness drinking from the fountain that saves me." 4. On that wonderful day you will say, "Thank the Lord. Praise HIS name. Tell the world about HIS wonderful love. Tell about HIS strength." 5. Sing to the Lord, because HE did wonderful things. Inform HIS praise around the world. 6. Let all people in the city named JERUSALEM shout HIS praise with happiness, because great and mighty is the Holy One of ISRAEL that lives among you. I CORINTHIANS 1:18-31 18. The story of the cross is foolish to those that die, but the story is God's power to us that are saved. 19. The Holy Writings say, "I will destroy the knowledge of the wise people and defeat the intelligence of the smart people." 20. Where is the wise man? Where is the Bible student? Where is the debater? Has God made the wisdom of the world become foolish? Yes! 21. Because the world didn't learn to know God through God's wisdom, but God decided to use our foolish preaching to save those that believe it. 22. Now the Jewish people ask for wonderful proofs, and the Greek people search for wisdom. 23. We preach a crucified Christ. The Jews fall-over HIM, and the Greeks think Jesus is foolish. 24. But to those people called by God, both Jews and Greeks, Jesus is Christ, God's power and wisdom. 25. The foolish thing God does is wiser than men, and the weak thing God does is stronger than men. 26. You see what happened, Christian friends. God called you. 27. Not many of you are wise same-as the world judges, not many of you in positions of power, not many of you born from rich parents. 28. No! God chose the foolish things in the world to make the wise men feel ashamed. God chose the weak things in the world to ,make the strong men feel ashamed. God chose the humble things in the world, things the world hates, things that are worthless, 29. To stop anyone from boasting in-front-of God. 30. God gave you your life in Christ Jesus. God made Jesus wise, righteous, holy, and a payment for our sins. 31. Now will happen same-as the Holy Writings say, "If you feel proud, then feel proud about the Lord." GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith. HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God. LUKE 15:1-3, 11-32 1. All the tax collectors and sinners came to Jesus to listen to HIM. 2. But the Jewish Law teachers and Church teachers complained and said, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them." 3. Now Jesus told a story.... 11. Then Jesus said, "A man had two sons. The young son said to the father, 12. 'Father, give-me my share of your things.' Now the father divided his things between the two boys. 13. A few days later the young son sold all his things, leaved from home and went to a far country, and spent all his money on pleasure living. 14. Happened he finished spending all his money, a terrible hunger came over that country, and the boy became hungry. 15. Now the young boy searched for work with the people of that country, and one man sent him to work feeding the pigs. 16. The young boy was-happy to eat the same food with the pigs because no one gave him anything to eat. 17. Then he began to think. Many of the workers on my fathers farm have enough food, and here I am hungry to death. I will go again to my father and say, 18. 'Father, I sinned against heaven and against you. 19. I don't deserve to be-named your son anymore. Please make me one of your servants.' 20. Now the young boy began leaving for home. While he was still far from home, his father saw him and the father felt sorry for him. The father ran and hugged his son and kissed him. 21. The son said, 'Father, I sinned against heaven and against you. I don't deserve to be-named your son anymore. Please make me one of your servants.' 22. The father told the servants, 'Quick, bring a robe, the best robe, and put-it-on the boy, bring a ring for his finger and shoes for his feet. 23. And bring the fat calf, kill it, and we will eat and celebrate. 24. This son of mine was-dead and is now alive. My son was-lost and I found him.' And they began to celebrate. 25. Now the older son was out in the field. Happened he came home near the house, he heard music and dancing. 26. The older son called one of the servants and asked, 'What is happening here?' 27. The servant said, 'Your brother is home and your father killed the fat calf because your brother is home safe and healthy.' 28. Then the older brother was-angry and refused to enter the house. The father came outside and begged him. 29. But the older son answered the father, 'Many years I worked for you same-as a servant and never disobeyed your commands, and you never gave-me a small goat to celebrate with my friends. 30. But happens that son of yours came home, he wasted all your things with pleasure living, you killed the fat calf for him.' 31. The father said, 'Son, you are always with me and everything I have is yours. 32. But we must celebrate and be-happy. This brother of yours was-dead and is now alive. Your brother was-lost and we found him.'" [C] FIFTH SUNDAY IN LENT INTROIT: O God, judge me and defend me against the unbelieving nations. Save me from sinful and lying people. I love the Lord, because HE heard my prayers; HE heard my shouts for mercy. I will pray to the Lord all my life, because HE attends to me. Death surrounds me, and the grave grieves me; I am filled with trouble and sadness. Then I prayed to the Lord, "O Lord, save me!" Because YOU, Lord, saved my soul from death, YOU wiped-away my tears, and YOU protected my feet from stumbling. COLLECT: Almighty and eternal God, help us remember and give thanks to YOU for Jesus' suffering on the cross that we are forgiven of our sins, and that YOU took-away the devil's power that we can be saved from eternal death. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ISAIAH 43:16-21 16. Remember! Long ago the Lord made a way through the sea; HE made a way through the swirling-waters to save HIS people, ISRAEL. 17. HE led the mighty EGYPTIAN soldiers to destruction. Those CHARIOTS and horses fell-down and couldn't stand-up. The water covered them. They died quickly, same-as blowing-out a candle. 18. Don't remember past things. Don't think about those things. 19. See, I am doing a new thing. Now things begin to happen. I will make a road through the dry places and I will make rivers flowing through those places. 20. The animals in the fields will thank ME, yes, JACKALS and OSTRICHES, because I give them water in the dry places, and water-springs for MY people to drink. 21. The people I made for MYSELF will sing praise to ME. PHILIPPIANS 3:8-14 8. Yes, I think all things worthless, because it is much better to know Christ Jesus, my Lord. 9. For Jesus I lost everything and think everything else worthless so that I can get Christ and find my life with HIM, not having my own righteous life judged by the law, but the righteous life that comes from God through faith that God gives to those believing in Christ. 10. I want to know Jesus and the power of HIS arising, to share in HIS suffering and to become same-as Jesus in death, 11. If in some way I will become one of those that arise from the dead. 12. I don't mean that I already arrived in heaven, or that I am at the end of my life, but I eagerly look for that to make that mine because Christ Jesus made me one of HIS followers. 13. Christian friends, I don't think that I succeeded in my faith. But one thing I do is to forget the things in the past. 14. I look to the future and keep my eyes on the heavenly gift that God gave to us in Christ Jesus. GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith. HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God. LUKE 20:9-19 9. Then Jesus told the people this story, "A man planted a grape farm, and let the workers take-care-of it, and leaving the man went on a long trip. 10. At the correct time the man sent a servant to the workers to get his share of the food that grew. But the workers beat-up the servant and sent the servant away with nothing. 11. The man sent another servant; the workers beat-up the second servant and did shameful things to the servant and sent the servant away with nothing. 12. The man sent a third servant, and the workers beat-up the third servant and threw the servant out. 13. Then the man said, 'What must I do? I will send my dear son. Maybe the workers will respect my son.' 14. Happened the workers saw the son, they discussed with one-another and said, 'This is the son. Let us kill the son and the land will become ours.' 15. So the workers threw the son out and killed him. 16. Now what will the man do to those workers? He will come and kill those workers and give the land to others." Those that heard Jesus' story said, "That must never happen." 17. Jesus looked-at them and asked, "What do the words in the Holy Writings mean? 'The stone that the builders refused to use now becomes the chief corner stone?' 18. Everyone that falls-over that stone will be-broken in parts, and if that stone falls on anyone, it will crush him same-as dust." 19. The Law teachers and the reigning priests wanted to grab Jesus now, because they knew Jesus told that story about them, but they were-afraid of the people. [C] PALM SUNDAY INTROIT: Into YOUR hands I give my spirit; YOU saved me, O Lord God of truth. In YOU, O Lord, I trust; let me never become ashamed; save me with YOUR correct doings. Because YOU are my strong support and my defense, now guide me and reign over me because of YOUR name. Into YOUR hands I give my spirit; save me, O Lord God of truth. I hate people honoring foolish idols, but I trust in YOU, Lord. My time remains in YOUR hand; save me from the hands of my enemies and from people hurting me. Let YOUR face smile on YOUR servant; save me because-of YOUR great love. COLLECT: Almighty and eternal God the Father, YOU sent YOUR Son same-as a man to suffer death on the cross that all people will follow HIS example of humility, we ask YOU to help us follow Jesus' example of patience, then we can join in HIS arising. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. DEUTERONOMY 32:36-39 36. The Lord will judge HIS people correctly, and HE will show mercy happens they fall, and their strength dissolves, both slave and free people. 37. Then God will ask, "Where are your gods...those rocks that saved you? 38. Where are these gods now that you gave gifts of meat and wine? Let those gods stand-up and help them. 39. See that I am God alone. I kill and I make alive. I hurt and I heal. No person escapes from MY power." PHILIPPIANS 2:5-11 5. Now think in your minds same-as Christ Jesus. 6. Now Jesus is the Person of God HIMSELF and equal with God; but Jesus didn't rest with that honor. 7. Jesus hid HIS glory and Jesus came in the body of a servant; and Jesus was-born same-as true Man. 8. Through obedience Christ humbled HIMSELF until death, and that death on the cross. 9. Now God gave Jesus much honor and put Jesus' name over all other names. 10. And in-front-of Jesus everyone must bow, all in heaven and on earth and in hell. 11. And every mouth will confess that Jesus is Lord. This honors God the Father. GRADUAL: Oh come, let us look-at Jesus; HE gave us our faith and HE makes perfect that faith. HE patiently burdened the cross although that cross is ashamed, and HE reigns in heaven our God. LUKE 23:1-49 1. Then all the people stood-up and led Jesus to PILATE. 2. The people blamed Jesus and told PILATE, "We heard this Man confusing the people. HE told them don't pay taxes to king CAESAR, and HE names HIMSELF the Christ, a king." 3. PILATE asked Jesus, "Are you king of the Jews?" Jesus answered, "Yes, that is correct." 4. PILATE told the priests and the people, "I find nothing wrong with this Man." 5. The people said again and again, "But Jesus makes trouble with the people! HE teaches all over the country, beginning in GALILEE, and now HE is here!" 6. PILATE heard that and asked if Jesus came from GALILEE. 7. PILATE found that Jesus was under the reign of king HEROD and king HEROD was-visiting JERUSALEM now, so PILATE sent Jesus to king HEROD. 8. Happened that HEROD saw Jesus, he was very happy, because he heard many stories about Jesus and wanted to see Jesus do a wonderful work. 9. HEROD asked Jesus many questions, but Jesus answered nothing. 10. The reigning priests and Law teachers stood there and shouted against Jesus. 11. Then HEROD and his soldiers laughed at Jesus, and they made fun by dressing Jesus in clothes same-as a king. Then HEROD sent Jesus again to PILATE. 12. In the past, PILATE and HEROD always were-enemies, but now they became friends. 13. PILATE called all the people together with the reigning priests and Law teachers. 14. PILATE told them, "You brought Jesus to me. You said JESUS made trouble among the people. But I judged and found nothing wrong. Jesus is not to blame for all the things you said. 15. Also, king HEROD found nothing wrong with HIM, and he sent Jesus again to me. See, Jesus did nothing wrong. HE must not be-killed. 16. I will punish HIM, and then I will free HIM." 17. Every year at the time of the year named PASSOVER, PILATE freed one man from jail. 18. But all the people shouted, "Kill HIM! Let BARABBAS free." 19. BARABBAS was in jail because he started a big fight and killed some people. 20. PILATE wanted to let Jesus free. Again PILATE told them that Jesus will go free. 21. But the people shouted again, "Kill HIM! Kill HIM on the cross!" 22. A third time PILATE said to the people, "Why? What wrong DID Jesus do? HE is not to blame. I find no reason to kill HIM. I will punish Jesus and then free HIM." 23. But the people continued shouting. They demanded that Jesus be-killed on the cross. 24. Their shouting became so loud that PILATE decided to give them BARABBAS, that killer. 25. PILATE let BARABBAS free and let the people take Jesus to be-killed, because they wanted that way. 26. The soldiers led Jesus to the place for the killing. That same time a man named SIMON from the city named CYRENE came into town, and the soldiers forced SIMON to carry the cross for Jesus. 27. Many people followed them, and some of the women were-sad and crying. They felt sad for Jesus. 28. But Jesus said to the women, "Women from JERUSALEM, don't cry for me. Cry for yourselves and for your children! 29. The time will happen that people say, 'Happy are women without babies! Happy are women with no children. 30. Then the people will say to the mountains, 'Fall on us!' And the people will say to the hills, 'Cover us!' 31. If people do these things and life is good, what will happen if life is bad?" 32. Two other robbers also walked with Jesus to the place for killing. 33. The soldiers led them to the place named "The Skull." Then the soldiers nailed Jesus and the two robbers to the cross. One robber was-crucified on the right, and one crucified on the left, with Jesus in the center. 34. Jesus said, "Father, forgive these people because they don't-know what they are-doing." The soldiers threw-dice to decide on Jesus' clothes. 35. The people stood and watched Jesus. The Jewish church leaders laughed and said, "If HE is God's Chosen Son, the Christ, then let HIM save HIMSELF. HE saved other people, correct?" 36. Also the soldiers laughed and teased Jesus. They offered some wine to Jesus. 37. The soldiers said, "If YOU are the king of the Jews, save YOURSELF!" 38. Above Jesus' head the soldiers wrote the words: This is the King of the Jews. 39. One robber began to shout bad words at Jesus and said, "If YOU are the Christ, then save yourself and save us too!" 40. But the other robber said, "You must fear God! All of us will die shortly! 41. You and I are wrong; we deserve to be-killed because we did wrong. But Jesus did nothing wrong!" 42. Then the robber said to Jesus, "Jesus, remember me in YOUR kingdom!" 43. Then Jesus said to him, "Honestly I tell you, today you will be with me in heaven!" 44. The time was now 12 noon and darkness covered the earth until time three in the afternoon. 45. The sun stopped shining! The curtain in the temple tore-in-half. 46. Jesus shouted, "Father, I give YOU my spirit." Then Jesus died. 47. The Roman soldier saw all the happenings, then he praised God and said, "Truly this Man was innocent!" 48. Many people came to see the crucifixion, but after these things happened they felt sad and began leaving for home. 49. Jesus' close friends and some of the women from GALILEE stood and watched the cross. [C] HOLY THURSDAY INTROIT: I will take the cup of salvation and pray in the name of the Lord. What will I give to the Lord for all HIS gifts to me? I will take the cup of salvation and pray in the name of the Lord. Important in the eyes of the Lord is the death of HIS dear people. O Lord, I am truly YOUR servant; the son of YOUR servant girl; YOU freed me from my slavery. I will give a thank-offering to YOU and pray in the name of the Lord. COLLECT: Lord Jesus, YOU asked us to remember YOUR suffering and death every time we worship with this Lord's Supper. Let this gift of body and blood work in our hearts and lives so that we will announce the things YOU finished done. We ask this knowing YOU live and reign with the Father and the Spirit eternally one God. Amen. JEREMIAH 31:31-34 31. The days are coming happen I will make a new agreement with the people of ISRAEL and JUDAH. 32. The new agreement will not be-the -same-as the old agreement I made in the past with their fathers, happen I took their hand to lead them out-of EGYPT. They broke that old agreement, so I showed them that I am Lord. 33. The Lord speaks, "No, this is the new agreement I will make with them happens those days come." The Lord speaks, "I will put MY Law deep inside them and I will write MY Law in their hearts. Then I will remain their God and they will be MY people. 34. They will no more need anyone to teach his neighbor or brother saying, "Learn to know the Lord!' No, they will all know ME, both small and great." The Lord speaks, :And I will forgive them and not remember their sin." HEBREWS 10:15-39 15. The Holy Spirit teaches us truly and says, 16. "This is the agreement I will make with MY people, says the Lord. I will put MY Laws in their hearts and write it in their minds. 17. I will not remember their sins and wrongs anymore." 18. Now if sins are forgiven, then there is no more need to offer gifts for sins. 19. Christian friends, now we can enter the most holy place because of the blood of Jesus. 20. This is the new living way that Jesus opened for us; the curtain to let us enter and see God through Jesus' holy body. 21. Jesus is our High Priest reigning over the people of God. 22. Let us come near God with honest hearts and a true faith because our hearts are free of a guilty conscience by the blood of Jesus and our bodies are washed clean with pure water. 23. Now our faith can trust surely in God's promise without doubting. 24. Because of everything God did for us, let us encourage one-another in loving and doing good. 25. Some people refuse to come to worship. Don't you do that, but instead encourage one-another because you see the day of Jesus coming near. 26. If anyone decides to continue sinning after learning about forgiveness, then there is no offering for sins, 27. But the waiting for the terrible judgment of God's anger and the destruction of HIS enemies. 28. Anyone that refused to obey the Laws of MOSES was-killed without mercy if two or three people witnessed the sin. 29. The punishment will be-worse for the person that refuses to accept the Son of God and doesn't respect the holy blood of the agreement that saved him and hated the love shown by God. 30. Because we know God said, "I have the alright to punish. I will punish for sins. The Lord will judge HIS people." 31. It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God. 32. Remember those wonderful days you first learned about Jesus and patiently suffered! 33. Sometimes people mocked you and beat-up you, and sometimes that happened to your friends. 34. You showed sympathy for me while I was in jail, and you accepted with happiness while your things were-stolen, because you knew that in heaven you had much more beautiful things that can't be-stolen. 35. Don't become disappointed. Remember heaven! 36. Remain patient doing God's wish, and God will give all HE promises. 37. In a very short time HE will come and quickly. 38. Now those people God judges righteous will live by their faith. But if a person doubts God's promise, then I will not be-happy with him. 39. But we never doubted God's promise, but we believed and are-saved. GRADUAL: Christ entered the Most Holy Place once for all by HIS OWN blood, freeing us forever. Christ brings a new agreement from God to HIS people that they can have the things God promised. God gives salvation to HIS people; HE established HIS agreement forever. LUKE 22:7-20 7. Then the day arrived for the celebration of bread without YEAST, happens the priests kill the PASSOVER lambs. 8. Jesus sent PETER and JOHN and said, "Go, prepare the PASSOVER food for us to eat." 9. They asked Jesus, "Where do you want us to prepare that?" 10. Jesus told them, "Go into the city and you will meet a man carrying a JAR of water. 11. Follow him into the house and tell the OWNER of that house, 'The Teacher asks where is the room that I can eat the PASSOVER with MY friends?' 12. He will show you a large room upstairs with everything you need. Prepare the food there." 13. They went and found everything same-as Jesus told them, and they prepared the PASSOVER meal. 14. Happened the time arrived and Jesus sat around table with HIS friends. 15. Then Jesus said, "I wanted very much to eat this PASSOVER with you before I suffer. 16. I tell you, I will not eat it again until it happens true in the Kingdom of God." 17. Then Jesus took the cup, gave-thanks to God, and said, "Take this and share it. 18. I tell you, from now-on I will not drink wine until the Kingdom of God comes." 19. Then Jesus took the bread, gave-thanks, broke-it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is MY body, I give for you. Do this to remember ME." 20. In-the-same-way after supper Jesus took the cup and said, "This cup is the new promise in MY blood, poured-out for you." [C] GOOD FRIDAY INTROIT: O Lord, don't stay far-away; O my strength, hurry and help me. My God, my God, why YOU forget me? Why are-YOU not helping me and not listening to my prayers? In YOU our fathers trusted; they trusted and YOU saved them. But I am same-as a worm and not a man; people are-ashamed of me and hate me. But YOU led me since my birth; YOU taught me to trust since my mother fed me from her breast. YOU took-care of me from the day of my birth until now; YOU are my God since my birth. Don't stay far-away, because trouble is near, and none other can help. COLLECT: Almighty God, in mercy look-down upon YOUR family; YOUR Son, Jesus, accepted betrayal and let HIMSELF get-arrested and suffered death on the cross for us. Jesus now lives and reigns with YOU Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. ISAIAH 52:13 - 53:12 13. See! MY Servant will succeed. HE will arise, be-praised, and given high honor. 14. Many people were-surprised seeing HIM, because HIS face was more ugly than any other man, HIS body more ugly than any man. 15. HE will cleanse many nations. Kings will be-open-mouthed in-front-of HIM, because they will see things they never before saw, and they will hear things they never before thought about. 53:1. Lord, who believes the things we hear? And who sees the arm of the Lord? 2. We announced in-front-of HIM that HE is same-as a young child and a ROOT in dry ground. HIS face is nothing, and HE shows no glory. Now we didn't look-at HIM, and HIS face had no beauty. 3. And HIS face was without honor in-front-of all people. HE was a man with STRIPES of punishment, and HE knew sadness. Because no one saw HIS face, people hated HIM and gave HIM no praise. 4. This man accepted our sins and our sadness. And we thought HE HIMSELF was in trouble and punishment and suffering. 5. Our law breaking gave HIM much suffering, and our sins made HIM suffer pain. The punishment for our peace was on HIM, and with HIS STRIPES of punishment we get healed. 6. All we finished strayed same-as sheep. Each person strayed in his-own way. And the Lord put our sin on HIM. 7. And in HIS bad suffering HE didn't shout. Same-as people lead a sheep to their death offering, and same-as a lamb is silent in-front-of the SHEARER; also HE didn't shout. 8. They took-away HIS judgment with shame. And who among HIS people announce that they take HIM from the world of living people? HE went to HIS death for the sins of my people. 9. People gave HIM a grave with sinners and a grave with a rich man in HIS death. No-matter HE didn't break laws, and no lies HE spoke. 10. But the Lord wanted to punish HIM with STRIPES. You gave HIM to take-away sin. HIS soul will see HIS children, and HE will make HIS life long. And the Lord wants to take-away some suffering from HIS soul. 11. Show HIM light and lead HIM with understanding. MY righteous Servant will decide many people righteous, because HE will burden their sins. 12. Now I will give HIM many people for a gift, and HE will share the riches with the strong people. Because HE poured-out HIS soul to death, people named HIM a law breaker. And HE burdened the sins of many people and prayed for sinners. HEBREWS 4:14-16; 5:7-9 14. Because we have a great Chief Priest in heaven, Jesus, God's Son, let us hold to our faith. 15. We have a Chief Priest that can sympathize with our weaknesses. HE got tempted in every way the-same-as us, but HE didn't sin. 16. Let us boldly go to God's throne of love to get mercy and find love to help us happen we need it. 5:7. During HIS life here on earth Jesus prayed and begged with much crying to God the Savior from death. Because HE honored God, then God heard HIS prayer. 8. No-matter Jesus is the Son, HE learned from HIS suffering about obedience. 9. Because HE was perfect, Jesus became the giver of eternal salvation to all obeying HIM. GRADUAL: Christ enetered the Most Holy Place once for all by HIS OWN blood, freeing us forever. Christ brings a new agreement from God to HIS people that they can have the things God promised. God gives salvation to HIS people; HE established HIS agreement forever. JOHN 19:17-30 17. Jesus carried HIS cross to the place named SKULL; the Jews named that place GOLGOTHA. 18. Jesus got crucified with two other men, Jesus in the middle. 19. PILATE out the wooden-sign on the cross - JESUS FROM NAZARETH, KING OF THE JEWS. 20. Many Jews read the words because that place was near the city, and the words were-written in Jewish, Latin and Greek. 21. The chief priests told PILATE to change the words. Not "KING OF THE JEWS" but "HE SAID I AM KING OF THE JEWS." 22. Pilate said, "I wrote that finished!" 23. The soldiers crucifying Jesus divided HIS clothes, some for each soldier, except Jesus' coat; that was-sewn-from-top-to-bottom all one coat. 24. The soldiers said, "Let's not rip the coat but throw-dice to see the winner." The Holy Writings said about this, "They divided MY clothes and for MY coat threw-dice." The soldiers did that. 25. Now Jesus' mother and HIS aunt MARY, the wife of CLEOPAS, and MARY from the city MAGDALA stood near the cross. 26. Jesus saw HIS mother and HIS dear friend standing near the cross. Jesus said to HIS mother, "Woman, there is your son!" Then HE said to JOHN, "There is your mother!" 27. From that day forward JOHN took-care-of MARY in his home. 28. Then Jesus knew that everything was-finished, and that the Holy Writings would truly happen Jesus said, "I thirst." 29. Near the cross was a jar of sour wine. A soldier put a sponge filled with wine on a stick and held that near HIS mouth. 30. Happened Jesus tasted the wine, Jesus said, "IT IS FINISHED!" Then HIS head bowed-down and HIS breathing-stopped. [C] EASTER SUNDAY INTROIT: Praise God! Christ arose same-as HE said. Christ arose from the dead. Praise God. Give thanks to the Lord, because HE is good; HIS love continues forever. Let HIS people now say that HIS mercy continues forever. People pushed me and I almost fell, but the Lord helped me. I will thank YOU because YOU answered me and saved me. The stone that the builders threw-away now becomes the chief stone for the corner. Now is the day that the Lord made; we will be-excited and be-happy in HIM. Blessed is the person coming in the name of the Lord; in the house of the Lord we bless YOU. COLLECT: O God, YOU gave YOUR only Son to suffer death on the cross for our salvation, and YOU freed us from the pain of death by Jesus' glorious arising. Help us to kill our sins every day so-that we can live with Jesus forever in happiness. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. EXODUS 15:1-11 1. Then MOSES and the Jewish people sang to the Lord, "I will sing to the Lord, my victorius God. Horses and riders drowned in the sea. 2. The Lord is my support and my strong helper and my Savior. HE is my God, and I will praise HIM. HE is God for my father, and I will give HIM glory. 3. The Lord is a soldier. HIS name is Lord. 4. The EGYPTIAN war CHARIOTS and soldiers drowned in the sea. The best officers drowned in the Red Sea. 5. The deep water covered them, and they sank-fast same-as a stone. 6. Lord, YOUR right hand is wonderfully strong. Lord, YOUR right hand destroyed the enemy. 7. All the enemies against YOU are-destroyed by YOUR great power. YOUR hot anger burns-up them same-as dry grass burns-up. 8. With YOUR breath YOU make waves, and the flowing-waters are-stopped same-as a DAM; the waters become same-as frozen in the middle of the sea. 9. The enemy said that they will chase and catch us and steal our things, and they will revenge. They will come with swords to destroy us. 10. But YOU blew the wind, the sea covered them, and they sank same-as heavy stones in the great sea. 11. Lord, who is the same-as YOU? There are no gods same-as YOU; wonderfully holy, to praise with honor, doing wonderful things. I CORINTHIANS 15:1-11 1. My dear Christians, I tell you the Good Story I before brought you and you accepted that. 2. You heard that, and you are saved by that if you believe the words I told you, except you before fooling about believing. 3. I told you the same thing I learned, something very important, that Christ died for our sins same-as the Holy Writings said will happen. 4. Jesus became buried, and Jesus arose on the third day same-as the Holy Writings said will happen. 5. PETER saw Jesus, then the twelve friends, then more than 500 Christians saw Jesus all at the same time. 6. Most of those people are still living today, but a few died. 7. Then JAMES saw Jesus, then all the followers. 8. Last of all, I saw Jesus, and I am same-as a baby born at the wrong time. 9. I am the last friend to join with Jesus, and I am not worthy to be-named a friend, because I first persecuted God's church. 10. God's love changed me, and HIS love wasn't wasted on me. But I did much more work than all the other friends, still it wasn't me, but God's love did all the work through me. 11. Now, indifferent if I did it or other friend did it, that we all preach the same, and this you must believe. GRADUAL: Christ arose from the dead. God the Father blessed Jesus with honor and glory. God made Jesus the King to reign everything God made; God put everything under Jesus' feet. LUKE 24:1-11 1. Very early on Sunday morning the women came to the grave bringing the perfume that they bought. 2. The women found the stone rolled-away from the grave. 3. But happened the women entered the grave, they didn't find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4. While the women worried about that, suddenly two men stood near the women dressed in clothes that shone same-as lightening. 5. The women were-scared, and they bowed-their-faces-to-the-ground. 6. "Why do you search among the dead, because Jesus is alive?" the two men asked the women. "Jesus is not here; Jesus is arisen. 7. Remember Jesus told you while HE was in GALILEE; the Son of Man must be-given into the hands of sinful people, be-crucified, and arise on the third day." 8. The women remembered Jesus said that. The women began leaving the grave and came to town and told everything that happened to the eleven friends and all the other people. 9. The names of the women telling the story were MARY MAGDALENE. 10. JOHANNA, and MARY, the mother of JAMES. 11. The eleven friends thought that the story was silly and refused to believe the women. [C] SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER INTROIT: You must want the pure spiritual milk, same-as new born babies want milk, that you can grow in your faith, now that you tasted that the Lord is good. Praise God! Thank the Lord, shout HIS name, tell the nations all the things God did. Sing to God, sing praise to HIM; tell all HIS wonderful works. Give glory to HIS holy name; you people searching-for the Lord be-happy in your heart. Search-for the Lord and HIS strength; search continually. Remember the wonderful things HE did, HIS works and HIS judgments. HE remembers HIS agreement forever that HE ordered for thousands of years. COLLECT: Almighty God, we celebrated with happiness the day of our Lord's arising. Now we ask for the help of YOUR love to show the power of the arising in all we say and all we do. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ACTS 5:12, 17-32 12. Jesus' friends did many wonderful works and powerful things, and all the people saw these things. Jesus' friends stood together in the temple. 17. The high priest and all his friends became very jealous. 18. They arrested Jesus' friends and put them in jail. 19. But during the night, an angel of the Lord opened the jail door, and the angel brought the men outside and said, 20. "Go and stand in the temple. Tell the people everything about the new life in Jesus." 21. Happened the men heard that, they obeyed and went into the temple very early and began teaching the people. The high priest and his friends came to the temple. Then they called a meeting of all the Jewish leaders and all the important older men, and sent some men to the jail to bring Jesus' friends. 22. Happened they went to the jail, they couldn't find Jesus' friends, so they came and told the Jewish leaders. 23. They said, "The jail was-closed and locked. The soldiers stood there, but we opened the doors and the jail was-empty." 24. The chief officer and priests heard that and became confused. They wondered about what will happen now! 25. Then another man came and told them, "The men you put in jail are now standing in the temple teaching the people." 26. Then the chief officer and soldiers went and brought Jesus' friends, but they didn't force them, because they were-afraid of the people. They were-afraid the people will become angry and kill the soldiers with stones. 27. The soldiers brought Jesus' friends to the meeting to stand in-front-of the Jewish leaders. 28. The high priest asked, "We told you never to teach about Jesus! But see, you did it again! You teach all-over the city JERUSALEM, and you make us responsible for the death of Jesus." 29. PETER and the other men answered, "We must obey God, not you! 30. You killed Jesus. You crucified HIM. But God, the same God our fathers worshipped, HE arose Jesus from death! 31. Jesus is the person that God arose to reign, and God made Jesus our Leader and Savior. God did that so all Jews could change their hearts and lives, and then God can forgive their sins. 32. We saw all these things happen, and we can say these things are true. The Holy Spirit also shows us that these things are true. God gave HIS Spirit to all people obeying HIM." REVELATION 1:4-18 4. This letter is from JOHN to the seven churches in the country named ASIA: Grace and peace to you from the God of the past, the present, and the future; and from the seven Spirits in-front-of God's throne; 5. And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first to arise from death, the One reigning over all kings on earth. Jesus is the One loving us; HE freed us from our sins with HIS blood. 6. Jesus made us a nation of priests to serve God the Father. Jesus has glory and power forever! Amen! 7. See, Jesus comes through the clouds, and everyone will see HIM, also those people that killed HIM; all people on earth will shout because of HIM. Yes, this will happen! Amen! 8. The Lord God says, "I am the First and the Last; I am the God of the past, the present, and the future; I am the all powerful reigner. 9. I, your brother JOHN, I suffer with you because of the Lord. I write this letter to you. I also share the patience that Jesus gives, and we will share in HIS kingdom. The Jews sent me to the island named PATMOS, because I preached the Word of God and told the things I knew about Jesus Christ. 10. On the Lord's Day I was-worshipping, and quickly I heard a loud voice behind me same-as a trumpet-blast, saying, 11. "I am the A and the Z, the First and the Last." Then I heard HIM say, "Write everything you see, and send your letter to the seven churches in the country named TURKEY, to the cities named EPHESUS, SMYRNA, PERGAMUS, THYATIRA, SARDIS, PHILADELPHIA, and LAODICEA." 12. Happened I turned to see the person talking, I saw seven golden candlesticks; 13. And among them I saw a person that seemed to be Jesus that named HIMSELF, "The Son of Man", dressed in a long robe with a gold band-around-HIS-chest. 14. HIS hair was white same-as snow, and HIS eyes shone same-as fire. 15. HIS feet shone same-as polished BRONZE, and HIS voice seemed same-as waves on the SHORE. 16. Jesus had seven stars in HIS right hand and a sharp sword in HIS mouth, and HIS face shone same-as the strong sun without clouds. 17. Happened I saw HIM, I fell-down in-front-of HIS feet, but HE touched me with HIS right hand and said, "Don't fear...indifferent that I am the First and the Last, 18. The Living God that died and now lives always, and I have the keys to hell and death, don't fear." GRADUAL: Christ arose from the dead. God the Father blessed Jesus with honor and glory. God made Jesus the King to reign everything God made; God put everything under Jesus' feet. JOHN 20:19-31 19. On the first day of the week in the evening, Jesus' friends locked the doors, because they feared the Jews. Then Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace to you." 20. After Jesus said this, HE showed them HIS hands and HIS side. Then Jesus' friends were-happy because they saw the Lord. 21. Then Jesus said to them again, "Peace to you. Same-as MY Father sent ME, I also send you." 22. And after HE said this, Jesus breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. 23. If you forgive the sins of anyone, their sins I forgive. If you refuse to forgive their sins, I will not forgive their sins." 24. But THOMAS, also named DIDYMUS, wasn't with the friends during Jesus' appearance. And THOMAS was one of the twelve friends. 25. Then the other friends told THOMAS, "We saw the Lord." But THOMAS said, "I must see the NAIL holes in HIS hands and touch that, and I must touch HIS side or I will not believe." 26. Eight days later Jesus friends were again in the house and THOMAS was with them. They locked the doors, but Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace to you." 27. Then Jesus said to THOMAS, "Your hand touch MY hands and MY side. Don't doubt, but believe." 28. THOMAS answered, "My Lord and my God." 29. Jesus said to him, "Because you see ME, you believe? Happy are people with faith in ME, but they not-yet see ME." 30. Jesus did many other wonderful works in-front-of HIS friends, but these works are not written in this book. 31. But the wonderful works you read in this book are written that you can believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and believing you can have eternal life through HIS name. [C] THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER INTROIT: With YOU, Lord, is perfect happiness. Near YOUR right hand is happiness forever. I shall praise YOU, O Lord, because YOU helped me, and YOU didn't let my enemies laugh at me. O Lord, my God, I called to YOU and YOU healed me. O Lord, YOU led my soul from the grave; YOU saved me from going to hell. Sing to the Lord, you dear people; praise HIS holy name. Because HIS anger is for a short time, but HIS love stays for a long time; crying maybe will continue all-night, but happiness begins in the morning. COLLECT: O Almighty and eternal God, YOU show us that YOU finished saving us through the arising of our Lord Jesus, help us to show in our lives the same-as we confess with our lips. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ACTS 9:1-20 1. In JERUSALEM SAUL tried to scare and kill the people following Jesus. SAUL went to see the high priest. 2. SAUL asked him to write letters to the Jews in the church in the city named DAMASCUS giving permission to SAUL to find the followers of Jesus and to arrest them and bring them to JERUSALEM. 3. SAUL went to DAMASCUS. Happened he came near the city, a very bright-light from the sky shone on him. 4. SAUL fell-down, and he heard a voice saying, "SAUL! SAUL! Why are you doing bad things to ME?" 5. SAUL said, "Who are you, Lord?" The voice answered, "I am Jesus. I am the person you persecute. 6. Stand-up and go into town. Someone will come and tell you everything you must do." 7. The men travelling with SAUL stood there. They said nothing. The men heard the voice, but they saw no one. 8. SAUL stood-up, opened his eyes, but he couldn't see. The men with SAUL took his hand and led him to DAMASCUS. 9. For three days SAUL couldn't see; he didn't eat or drink. 10. A follower of Jesus named ANANIAS lived in DAMASCUS. The Lord spoke to ANANIAS in a dream and said, "ANANIAS!" He answered, "Here I am, Lord." 11. The Lord said, " Stand and go to the street named STRAIGHT and find the house of the man named JUDAS. Ask to see the man named SAUL from the city named TARSUS. SAUL is now praying there. 12. SAUL dreamed that a man named ANANIAS came and put-his-hands on SAUL, and then SAUL can see." 13. But ANANIAS answered, "Lord, many people told me about that man. They told me about many bad things SAUL did to your believers in JERUSALEM. 14. Now SAUL comes here to DAMASCUS, and the priests gave him the power to arrest all YOUR believers here." 15. But the Lord told ANANIAS, "Go! I chose SAUL for an important work. He must tell kings about ME, tell the Jewish people, and tell other nations. 16. I will show SAUL the things he must suffer for MY name." 17. ANANIAS went to the house of JUDAS, and put-his-hands on SAUL and said, "SAUL, my brother, the Lord Jesus sent me. You saw Jesus on the road, and now Jesus sent me to help you see again and to fill you with the Holy Spirit." 18. Quickly, SAUL'S eyes became healed and he saw again. SAUL stood-up and got-baptized. 19. Then SAUL ate began to become strong again. SAUL stayed with Jesus' followers in DAMASCUS for a few days. 20. Then SAUL began to preach about Jesus in the Jewish churches, and told the people, "Jesus is the Son of God!" REVELATION 5:11-14 11. Then I looked and heard angels -- thousands and millions of angels. They stood around the throne with the four living animals and the ELDERS, and they sang in a loud voice: 12. "The Lamb that was-killed -- HE is worthy to receive power, and wealth, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and praise." 13. And I heard every living thing in heaven, on earth and in the sea -- all living things in the world -- all singing: "Give praise and honor and glory and power to HIM sitting on the throne and to the Lamb, forever and ever." 14. And the four living animals answered, "Amen -- yes, true, let it happen," and the ELDERS bowed-down and worshipped. GRADUAL: Christ arose from the dead. God the Father blessed Jesus with honor and glory. God made Jesus the King to reign everything God made; God put everything under Jesus' feet. JOHN 21:1-14 1. Later Jesus showed HIMSELF again to HIS friends at the lake named GALILEE. 2. PETER, THOMAS, NATHANAEL, JAMES, JOHN, and two other friends of Jesus were together. 3. PETER said, "I am-going fishing." The others said, "We will go also." They all entered a boat, but that night they fished and got nothing. 4. In the morning Jesus stood on the shore, but the men didn't-know that was Jesus. 5. Jesus asked, "Did you catch any fish?" The men answered, "No!" 6. Jesus told the men, "Your NETS drop on the right side of the boat and you will find fish." The men did that and now the NETS were filled with fish that they couldn't pull-it-in. 7. The friend that Jesus loved much named JOHN said to PETER, "That is Jesus." PETER heard that and put-on-his-coat and tied-his-belt and jumped into the water. 8. But the other friends stayed in the boat and pulled the NETS filled with fish to the shore. 9. Happened the friends rowed the boats to the shore, they saw a fire with some fish cooking and some bread. 10. Jesus said, "Bring some of the fish you caught." 11. PETER entered the small boat and pulled the NET to shore. The NET was filled with 153 big fish, but still the NET didn't get torn. 12. Jesus said, "Come and eat." None of the men asked, "Who are you?" 13. They knew that was Jesus. Then HE came, took the bread, and gave the bread to them and also the fish. 14. This was the third time Jesus showed HIMSELF to HIS friends after HE arose from the dead. [C] FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER INTROIT: I am the Good Shepherd; I know MY sheep and MY sheep know ME, and I give-up MY life for the sheep. The Lord is my shepherd, I need nothing. HE makes me lay-down in green growing places, HE leads me near the quiet rivers, HE supports my soul. HE leads me on the correct ways because-of HIS name. Happens I walk through the dark valley named death, I will not fear trouble, because YOU are with me. YOUR wooden stick and YOUR shepherd's staff comfort me. YOU prepare for me a table in-front-of my enemies; YOU pour perfume on my head; my cup is full and overflowing. Yes, YOUR goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will live in the Lord's house forever. COLLECT: Almighty God, mercy filled Father, because YOU awake from death the Shepherd of YOUR sheep, fill us with the Holy Spirit that we will hear the voice of our Shepherd and follow HIM that sin and death will never take-away us from YOU. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ACTS 13:15-16a, 26-33 15. The leaders of the Jewish Church read from the Law of MOSES and from the writings of the Prophets. Then they sent an invitation to PAUL and his friends: "Brothers, we invite you to speak to the people, if you have a word to encourage them." 16. PAUL stood-up and spoke: 26. "Friend Jews, children of ABRAHAM, and all you others that worship God. This story of salvation is sent to us. 27. The people living in JERUSALEM and their leaders didn't-know Jesus is the Savior, and they didn't understand the words of the Prophets they read every worship day. But they made the words of the Prophets happen true by condemning Jesus. 28. Indifferent they found no good reason to kill HIM, they asked governor PILATE to give HIM death. 29. After they did everything to HIM same-as the Holy Writings say, then they took HIM from the cross and laid HIM in a grave. 30. But God raised Jesus from death, 31. And for many days HE appeared to those that came with HIM from GALILEE to JERUSALEM. They are now telling about HIM to the people. 32. And we bring you the Good Story. God gave a promise to our fathers, 33. But HE kept HIS promise to us and to our children -- HE raised Jesus to life. Same-as it-is-written in the second PSALM: 'YOU are MY Son. Today I become YOUR Father.'" REVELATION 7:9-17 9. JOHN writes: After this I looked and saw a large crowd of people. No one could count all the people. They came from every nation, and group, and family, and language. They stood in-front-of the throne and the Lamb. They were dressed in white robes with PALMS in their hands. 10. They shouted with a loud voice, "Our salvation comes from the Lamb and from our God sitting on the throne." 11. All the angels stood around the throne and the ELDERS and four living animals. They bowed-down in-front-of the throne with their faces on the ground and worshipped God, 12. Saying, "Amen! Praise, glory, wisdom, thanks, honor, power, and strength belong to our God forever! Amen." 13. One of the ELDERS asked me, "These people dressed in white robes -- who are they and where do they come from?" 14. I answered, "I don't-know, lord, but you know." He said to me, "These are people that came through great suffering. They washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb, and their robes became white. 15. That is the reason they stand in-front-of the throne of God and serve HIM day and night in HIS temple. HE sitting on the throne is with them and protects them. 16. They will never become hungry or thirsty again. The sun and the heat will never burn them. 17. Because the Lamb in-front-of the throne will be their Shepherd. HE will lead HIS people to water flowing always, and God will wipe-away every tear from their eyes." GRADUAL: Christ arose from the dead. God the Father blessed Jesus with honor and glory. God made Jesus the King to reign everything God made; God put everything under Jesus' feet. JOHN 10:22-30 22. Now happened the time of the year for the celebration named LIGHT at the temple. 23. Jesus walked on the PORCH of SOLOMON in the temple. 24. Some Jews met around HIM and asked HIM, "We are still wondering? Tell us honestly, are you the promised Savior?" 25. Jesus said, "I finished told you, but you didn't believe ME. I work in MY Father's name, and MY deeds speak for ME; 26. But you will not believe, because you are not MY sheep. 27. MY sheep listen to MY voice. I know them, and they follow ME. 28. I give them eternal life. MY sheep will never be-lost, and no one can take-away them from ME. 29. MY Father gave them to ME, and HE is greater than all others. NO one can take-away them from MY Father. 30. The Father and I are the same." [C] FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER INTROIT: In a short time you will not see ME, and then later you will see ME. I will give glory to YOU, my God, my King, and I will praise YOUR name forever. Every-day I will praise YOU and celebrate YOUR name forever. The Lord is full-of mercy and kindness, slow to anger and full-of much love. All YOUR works will thank YOU, O Lord, and YOUR holy people will praise YOU. My mouth will speak words of praise to the Lord, and let all people praise HIS holy name forever. COLLECT: O God, make the wishes of YOUR faithful people the same-as YOUR wishes. Make us love the things YOU command and make us want to have the gifts that YOU promise. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ACTS 13:44-52 44. The next Saturday almost the whole town met to hear God's Word. 45. Happened the Jewish leaders saw all the people, they became very jealous. They disagreed with the things PAUL said and criticized PAUL. 46. PAUL and BARNABAS bravely said, 'We speak God's Word to you first, but because you refuse the Word and decide yourselves not worthy of everlasting life, we will now speak to the non/Jewish people. 47. The Lord commanded us to do that. God said, 'I made you same-as a light for the non/Jewish people to save all people on earth.'" 48. The non/Jewish people were happy to hear the things the Lord said and praised God for that, and everyone that God chose for eternal life believed the Word of God. 49. The Lord's Word spread all over the country. 50. But the Jewish leaders excited the women worshipping with them and excited all the leaders in the town. These people began to persecute PAUL and BARNABAS and chased them out of the country. 51. PAUL and BARNABAS then shook-the-dirt from their feet and went to the city named ICONIUM. 52. At the same time the other friends of Jesus continued to be full of happiness and full of the Holy Spirit. REVELATION 21:1-5 1. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth disappeared and the sea was all-gone. 2. And I saw the Holy City, that new JERUSALEM, coming-down-out-of heaven from God ready same-as a bride dressed for meeting her husband. 3. I heard a loud voice speaking from the throne, "Now God's home is with the people. HE shall live with them, and they will be HIS people. God HIMSELF will be with them, and HE will be their God. 4. HE will wipe-away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more grieving or crying or pain. The old things are disappeared." 5. And the Person sitting on the throne said, "See, I make all things new." And HE said to me, "Write, because these are true and faithful words." GRADUAL: Christ arose from the dead. God the Father blessed Jesus with honor and glory. God made Jesus the King to reign everything God made; God put everything under Jesus' feet. JOHN 13:31-35 31. Happened JUDAS leave, then Jesus said, "Now the Son of Man receives glory, and God receives glory. God will give glory to the Son of Man, yes, God will give glory now." 32. Jesus said, "Children, I am with you for a short time. 33. You will search for ME, but the same-as I told the Jewish leaders, I tell you now: the place I am going, you can't come. 34. I am giving you a new command: Love one-another! Love one-another, the same-as I loved you. 35. By your loving one-another everyone will know that you are MY friends." [C] SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER INTROIT: Come and listen, all you people honoring God; let me tell-you the things God did for me. Shout with happiness to God all you on earth! Sing about the glory of HIS name; give glory to God with praise! Praise your God, all you nations, let all people hear your praise; because God keeps us alive and doesn't let our feet slip. Praise God, because HE heard my prayers and showed much love to me. COLLECT: Lord, because YOU promised to give us the things we ask in the name of YOUR only Son, teach us correctly to pray and with all YOUR holy people to give-YOU worship and praise. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ACTS 14:8-18 8. In the city named LYSTRA lived a man crippled from birth, and he never walked. 9. The man sat and listened to PAUL speak. PAUL looked and knew that man believed that God can heal him. 10. PAUL spoke loudly, "Stand-up!" The man stood-up and began walking around. 11. The people saw that and began shouting in their own language, "The gods become same-as men, and now the gods come here with us!" 12. The people began to give BARNABAS the name ZEUS. PAUL they named HERMES because he was the chief speaker. 13. The temple honoring ZEUS was near the city, and the priest from that temple brought some BULLS and flowers and wanted to give a gift to worship PAUL and BARNABAS. 14. But happened that PAUL and BARNABAS understood their actions, they became angry and tore their clothes and said, 15. "People, why are you doing this? We aren't gods. We have the same feelings you have. We came to tell you the Good Story, that you will stop worshipping these foolish gods and worship the true living God. HE made the sky, the earth, the sea, and everything. 16. Long-ago God let all the nations do anything they wanted. 17. But God did things to prove to show HIMSELF to them, and now HE does good things for you. HE sends the rain and gives you good food growing at the correct time. HE gives you plenty of food and fills your heart with Happiness." 18. PAUL and BARNABAS told the people all these things, but still the people offered gifts to them to worship them. REVELATION 21:10-14, 22-23 10. By the power of the Holy Spirit, the angel brought me to the top of a high mountain. The angel showed me JERUSALEM, the holy city, coming-down out-of heaven from God. 11. The city shone with the glory of God, same-as a beautiful stone named JASPER, clear. 12. The city had a great high wall with 12 gates and with 12 angels taking-care-of the gates. On the gates are written the names of the 12 families in ISRAEL. 13. Three gates on the east; three gates on the south; three gates on the north; and three gates on the west. 14. The wall was-built on 12 stones, and the names of the 12 friends of Jesus were-written on the stones. 22. I didn't see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty HIMSELF is the temple, and also Jesus Christ, the Lamb. 23. The city doesn't need the sun or moon to shine, because the glory of God shines, and the Lamb Jesus is the Light. GRADUAL: Christ arose from the dead. God the Father blessed Jesus with honor and glory. God made Jesus the King to reign everything God made; God put everything under Jesus' feet. JOHN 14:23-29 23. Jesus answered, "If you love ME, you will do the things I command, and MY Father will love you, and WE will come to you and live with you. 24. Anyone not loving ME, doesn't love the things I say. You don't hear MY words but MY Father's words. HE sent ME. 25. I told you these things while I am still with you. 26. But the Father will send the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, in MY name, and HE will teach you everything and remind you about the words I spoke. 27. I give peace to you, MY peace. I don't give peace same-as the world gives peace. Don't feel troubled or afraid. 28. You heard ME tell you, 'I am leaving, but I will come again to you.' If you love ME, you will be-happy that I go to the Father, because the Father is greater than ME. 29. I told you now before that happens. Then after that happens, you will believe." [C] THE ASCENSION OF OUR LORD INTROIT: God ascended with shouting; the Lord ascended with trumpets. The Lord God says to my Lord: "Sit near MY right hand until I put your enemies under your feet." The Lord promised and HE will not change; "You are a priest forever, same-as the family MELCHIZEDEK." The Lord near your right hand will destroy kings in the day of HIS anger. COLLECT: Almighty God, we believe YOUR only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, ascended into heaven, we ask that we can also with heart and mind ascend and continually live in heaven with HIM. HE lives and reigns with YOU, Father, and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ACTS 1:1-11 1. Dear friend of God, in the book I wrote before, I told about everything that Jesus did and taught. 2. Until that day Jesus went-up to heaven after HE gave orders from the Holy Spirit to HIS chosen friends. 3. After Jesus' suffering and crucifixion HE in many ways with strong proofs showed HIS friends HE was-alive while HE appeared to them for 40 days and talked to them about the kingdom of God. 4. Meeting with HIS followers, Jesus commanded them not to depart from the city JERUSALEM, but to wait for the promise from the Father - Jesus before told them about that promise. 5. Jesus reminded them, "JOHN baptized with water, but in a few days you will get-baptized with the Holy Spirit." 6. Again, happened Jesus met with HIS followers, they asked HIM, " Lord, do YOU intend now to establish again the free kingdom of ISRAEL?" 7. And Jesus answered them, "It-is-not for you to know the plans of the Father. Only HE has the power to decide the time and day. 8. But happens the Holy Spirit comes on you, then you will receive power and will teach and preach about ME 1) in JERUSALEM; 2) in all JUDEA; 3) in SAMARIA; and 4) to the far places on earth." 9. Happened Jesus finished speaking, while the followers watched, HE ascended, and a cloud took-hid HIM and they couldn't see HIM anymore. 10. While they stood staring-up into the sky watching Jesus ascend, two persons clothed in white stood next-to them. 11. The two asked, "You men from the country GALILEE, why do you stand here staring-up into the sky? That Jesus, exact same-as you see HIM ascend - HE will come-down here again exact same-as you see HIM go-up!" EPHESIANS 1:16-23 16. I remember you in my prayers and always thank God for you. 17. I ask the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, to give-you HIS Spirit to make you wise and to show the truth to you while you are learning to know HIM better. 18. And to open your minds so-that you will know the reason HE called you, the wonderful glorious gift HE gives to all HIS holy people. 19. And the great power working in us believers. 20. That is the same power that arose Jesus from the dead and made Jesus the King in heaven; 21. Reigning over all kings, government people, strong leaders, lords, and every person in this world and in heaven. 22. And God put everything under Jesus' reign, and made Jesus the Chief reigning over all the Church. 23. The Church is HIS body-group, and HE fills every part of HIS body-group in every way. GRADUAL: Christ arose from the dead. God the Father blessed Jesus with honor and glory. God made Jesus the King to reign everything God made; God put everything under Jesus' feet. LUKE 24:44-53 44. Then Jesus said to them, "These are MY words I spoke to you, while I was with you. I finished all things the law of MOSES and the prophets and the PSALMS wrote about ME." 45. Then HE opened their minds, and they understood the Holy Writings. 46. And HE said to them, "In the Holy Writings we read, 'Christ must suffer and arise from the dead on the third day. 47. And people must preach REPENTANCE and forgiveness of sins in Christ's name to all nations beginning in the city JERUSALEM.' 48. You are WITNESSES about these things. 49. I will send to you the One MY Father promised. Wait in the city until you receive the power from heaven." 50. Jesus led them out to the place named BETHANY, and HE raised-HIS-hands and blessed them. 51. While Jesus blessed them, HE ascended and went to heaven. 52. They knelt and worshipped Jesus, and then happily went again to the city JERUSALEM. 53. And they continually were in the temple praising God. [C] SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER INTROIT: Hear, O Lord, I pray to YOU; show mercy to me and answer me. The Lord is my Light and my Savior; I will not fear. One thing I asked the Lord; that is the thing I search-for; that I can live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life; to look-at the beauty of the Lord, and to think about HIS temple. Because in the time of trouble HE will hide me safe in HIS room; HE will hide me in HIS tent; HE will put me high on a rock. Happens my father and mother leave me, then the Lord will accept me. Wait for the Lord; stay strong; let your heart be-brave; wait for the Lord. COLLECT: O King of glory, Lord of heaven, YOU live in heaven, we ask YOU please don't leave us without comfort, but send us the Spirit of Truth that YOU promised to us. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, YOUR Son, our Lord. Jesus lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, eternally one God. Amen. ACTS 16:6-10 6. PAUL and the men travelling with him went through the countries named PHRYGIA and GALATIA, but the Holy Spirit didn't permit them to preach the Good Story in the country named ASIA. 7. PAUL and TIMOTHY went near the country named MYSIA, and they wanted to go to the country named BITHYNIA. But the Spirit of Jesus didn't permit them to enter that country. 8. So the two men passed-by MYSIA and went to the city named TROAS. 9. That night PAUL had a dream. In the dream a man from the country named MACEDONIA came to PAUL and stood begging, "Come over to MACEDONIA. Help us!" 10. After waking-up, PAUL and TIMOTHY prepared to leave to go to MACEDONIA. They understood that God called them to tell the Good Story to those people. REVELATION 22:12-17, 20 12. Attend! I am coming soon and will have MY reward with ME to give to everyone agreeing with his work. 13. I am the A and the Z, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. 14. Blessed are those people that wash their robes, because they can eat from the tree of life and go through the gates into the city. 15. Outside the city are the bad people, those people that do bad magic, those people that sin SEXUALLY, those killers, those idol worshippers, and those people that love to hear lies and tell lies. 16. I, Jesus, sent MY angel to tell you these things in the churches. I was-born from the family of DAVID, and I am named the bright morning star. 17. And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come." Let anyone who is thirsty, come. Let everyone wanting the water of life come and drink - that life is free and costs nothing. 20. Jesus tells these things and says, "Truly I come soon." Yes, I agree, come Lord Jesus. GRADUAL: Christ arose from the dead. God the Father blessed Jesus with honor and glory. God made Jesus the King to reign everything God made; God put everything under Jesus' feet. JOHN 17:20-26 20. "I am not asking for them only, but also for those that through their word believe in ME, that they will all believe the same. 21. Same-as YOU, Father, are in ME and I in YOU, let them be with ME that the world will believe YOU sent ME. 22. I gave them the glory YOU gave to ME to make them one same-as WE are one. 23. I am with them, and YOU are with ME to make them perfectly one, that the world will know YOU sent ME and loved them same-as YOU loved ME. 24. Father, I want those people YOU gave ME to be with ME in the place I am and to see MY glory that YOU gave ME, because YOU loved ME before the world was-made. 25. Holy Father, the world didn't-know YOU, but I knew YOU, and these people learned to know YOU sent ME. 26. I told them, and I will tell them YOUR name, that the love YOU have for ME will be in them, and I will be in them."
